Your thoughts on Resistance 3 + Sharp Shooter... is it worth it?

So, Resistance 3 showed up in the mail today but before I pop it in and start playing I was wondering if I should play through with the Sharp Shooter instead of the regular controller. I already have the eye toy and two dust-covered motion controllers (an ill-conceived impulse buy at GameStop when I had a mountain of stored trade in value and no new games I wanted to pick up), but I'd need to pick up the Sharp Shooter and a navigation/sub controller. I'm hesitant to shell out another... let me check... sheesh! $55 dollars for those unless the game really merits it.

I already read through the reviews I could find (here and elsewhere) but most of them don't talk about using the Sharp Shooter or just give it a really quick mention and then go back to talking about the game in terms of using a regular controller. I'm hoping some of you have spent some time with Resistance 3 and the Sharp Shooter. I'd be interested to know how you feel it rates in general, as well as compared to other gun based FPS games. Does it make for a better or worse experience than playing Resistance 3 with the regular controller? Would you shell out (or did you) an extra $55 for the experience?

Hmmm... no replies yet. Is it because nobody has the Sharp Shooter? Or is it that the relatively poor sales for Resistance 3 so far means that no one is playing it at all, even with a regular controller?

The game itself is amazing, but the Move implementation is crap. KZ3's move controls are much better. Its going to be addressed with the next patch though. Personally, I think that NOT using the sharpshooter allows for better and quicker aiming and precision.

i bought a used sharpshooter for real cheap because (haha) at Gamestop they accidentally mislabelled it as the pistol one which was only $9 used. So if I got Resistance 3 I'd use it. Don't think I will until I play the first two though, even then that lets the price drop.

Was it terrible all around, or just some specific bugs that need to be worked out?

Thanks for the heads-up on the patch. I jumped over to the official Resistance 3 forums and then checked Insomniacs twitter. Looks like the Sharp Shooter improvements will come in the 1.05 patch... but I think the one coming out later this week is only 1.04... right?

I never played KZ3 (I know, I know, shame on me). Maybe I'll pick that and a Sharp Shooter up this week and give it a play though while they fix Resistance. Have you played many games with the Sharp Shooter? Would you say KZ3 is the best of the bunch?

Edit: I see that some fixes for Move are going to be include in 1.04 now, on a closer reading of some posts in the Resistance 3 forums. It looks like fixes for dealing with the Sharp Shooter while scoped is the bit that isn't coming until 1.05.
