I just want to know your favorites.

3. MGS 4. Yes. I actually prefer MGS 4 over 3. Haven't played 1. Sorry everyone. I think I prefer this over 3, is because of the over-the-shoulder-mode. I was highly annoyed by the shooting and looking around in MGS 2 and 3.

2. Hitman II. I have played every single one of these games expect for Blood money. I think i prefer the second one. Totally original. I can't even explain it with so little time. But here is a good review of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIDQGT8zgtc Altough most of the review, this guy is just shooting away, which is definitelly the wrong way to play it.

1. Thief II: metal age. I kinda feel bad for putting it up, because now I will probably have to read miles and miles of angry comments saying that I put it up, 'cause Yahtzee thinks it's awesome, but I have been enjoying it pretty much as long it has been out. One of the best games ever. I'll leave it at that.

So. What's your top 3 and what are your opinions of the games above?

OP: ah, good list.. I also like the Theif games, bought a double pack for $20Aus recently :)

My list is: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Hitman Blood Money and Metal Gear Solid 4.
yeah, not much variety in mine though, never played any Splinter Cells or any other so called 'stealth games'.

1) Metal Gear 3

2) Splinter Cell 3

3) No One Lives Forever 2

Need more stealth games, there are none, I have to make do with RPGs.

Deus Ex, System Shock 2, and Thief: The Dark Project (although ALL the Thief games are pretty spiffy).

Ooooh.... good point, Deus Ex plays stealthily very well. Well that's the third game sorted for me.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Metal Gear Solid 3

Deus Ex

Deus Ex - if I wasn't sneaky I was slaughtered so that one for certain

Thief:anything - hard to have a list like this without the game series that revolves around stealth.

I did a lot of sneaking in Fallout 3. The terrible shotgun to the back of the head made a mess even out of super-mutants.

I'll work on Sneaky aspect instead of Stealth games themselves, as I don't play many Stealth Games.

1) Batman Arkham Asylum, the demo was awesome, sadly not played anything more as I'm a PC user.

2) Far Cry 2, I enjoyed the challenge, but I guess it's not really a stealth game. I simply found the challenge refreshing, especially stealth killings (which were easy with a sniper/dart rifle)

3) The spy in Team Fortress 2, he's fun ;) He's my favourite class but I sadly lost my touch.

1) Beyond Good and Evil: Yes, the sneak stuff is fairly shallow and more puzzle-y than strictly stealth, but it's entertaining nonetheless, and it mixes it up nicely with all the other awesome stuff in the game.

2) Thief: The Dark Project: Which just defines stealth games in my opinion. Nothing beats climbing around on walls and sniping unsuspecting guards like some homicidal monkey. *glee*

3) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Again, not strictly stealth, but I just played through as an Archer, for which death from the shadows is pretty much mandatory. And once I ratcheted my Sneak skill up and tricked myself out with a couple Chameleon gadgets, I could walk through a crowd in the noonday sun and no one knew I was there. Which made the game pointlessly easy, but whatever.

MGS2,splinter cell, and splinter cell double agent

I liked MGS3 but only when you got the subsistance version of the game, then it like splinter cell with a wierd wound treatment mechanic.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Thief: Deadly Shadows and TF2 (I play as the spy only, it's great playing a stealth game while everyone around you is playing and FPS)

MGS3 - Slow and steady crawling through underbrush... Sure, you could run'n'gun sections, but for me it was all about discerning patrol patterns and finding openings to slip through or neutralize threats.

Hitman2 - Both fun and frustrating at the same time... but finally pulling off a perfect silent assasination was always worth it.

AC2 - (requires faithful use of the Auditore Cape to truly fit the 'Stealth' catagory) Slip through crouds, slowly clear posted and patrolling guards, and silently perforate your target. Fun.

Batman:Arkham - Not quite as stealthy as I'd have liked in places, but overall a fun time snatching thugs from the shadows.

Sadly, I haven't played the Thief series... May see if I can find a bargain bin somewhere.
