List your top 5 games, then tell us something that you thought was flawed in it. They don't have to be in any particular order.

1: Guild Wars 2 - Level scaling, yes I know it's so a guy doesn't get to level 60 and go back and get all the skill points. But I'm level 41, and I can go back and help my level 20 buddy and we'll get swarmed an both die.

2: Skyrim - Haven't played it in about 3 months, but no beast race children, no beast race marriages. Kahjiit and Argonian make babies and want to be married too!.

3: Mass Effect 3 - aside from the ending (which I was glad they 'fixed') the game seemed very linear, with not much planet hopping then where you needed it to go.

4: Dragon's Dogma - loved the game but whole 'rent my pawn' idea seemed off, me and a few friends saw 'online!' and thought 'sweet we can play together' no.. but we can rent our slavish people..

5: Leauge of Legends - what I didn't say it couldn't be "mmo"-ish game. Needs more levels to play, after playing the same map 248,012 times it gets old..

so.. list em out y'all!

Actually it's to prevent content obsolescence. If anything, it needs to be even harsher. I'm fairly OP when I get level scaled due to traits and gear not scaling.

On topic...

ULTIMA SERIES - Some highly questionable play mechanics. Early games were absolutely nuts with bizarre sci-fi mixing with the fantasy. Garriott did a lot of acid when he was younger, apparently.

FALLOUT SERIES - Again, questionable play mechanics, both in the 2D and 3D version of the game. FO3 had a naff story to boot.

PLANESCAPE TORMENT - Infinity Engine was always a train wreck.

EVERQUEST - Brutally cruel game with an opaque, user hostile interface and vile skinner box compulsion built into it.

ULTIMA ONLINE - Broken in almost every conceivable way. (still wonderful though)

Well, in alphabetical order, since I don't want to rank them.

Arcanum - the combat can be broken as fuck really easily. Also, even with the fan patches, your save can get corrupted. Be advised, happened to me.

Bloodlines - it runs on beta of the Source engine. Also it was barely finished upon release. 8 years later, the game is still unstable and has bugs in it. Some of them are well known and notorious, not to mention unfixable.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - "might" is a bit obsolete in the title. The game suffers badly from linear fighters/quadratic wizards syndrome. A huge army can get you so far, when it's being cursed, slowed, blinded, frenzied, imploded and so on by the enemy mage. And the actual counter measures are laughable - a couple of creatures can make a spellcasting hero waste slightly more mana. And we're talking about spells taking ~10 mana here, when a spellcaster has 200+. Alternatively, there is a resistance skill, which is good, onnly it takes up a skill slot and you have to be sure the enemy is packing spells. Speaking of skills, some of them plain suck and are even more than a waste of space.

The Legacy of Kain series. OK, the gameplay is not impressive. The story is the strong point of the series, plus some puzzles, and some world exploration in Blood Omen 1 and Soul Reaver 1, the rest is unimpressive and meh. Also, BO2 exists.

Magicka - the combinations are all well and good, but steam, steam, steam, arcane, lightning just plain pwns everything. Also it's a buggy game (might have been somewhat fixed now)

Alright lets rip my own ass out.

Mass Effect: It was awfully linear in 3 and your decisions didn't matter in the end.

Dragon age Origins: The combat is BORING, its fun for one or two playthroughs but it very quickly becomes predictable and far to boringgggg.

Skyrim: There are no good companions and roleplaying is stunted in many ways.

X-Com: Setting up snap shots and such is a pain, sometimes your soldiers will shoot and somtimes they wont and its never explained how the system fully works. Also, dat interface.

Saints Row 3: Far to silly, it took any idea of real emotion and shot it out a window into the sun.

In no particular order...

1. Deus Ex - The graphics were never really all that impressive and have aged very poorly. The enemy AI is dopey at its best. Certain skills/augmentations were either underutilized or completely worthless (Swimming Expert!). The fake accents in Hong Kong and Paris were hilariously bad.

2. System Shock 2 - Again, the graphics haven't aged well and the AI is pretty dopey. Weapons degrade so incredibly fast that in real life you'd likely need to perform maintenance after each magazine to avoid mechanical problems. Many of the games weapons are incredibly specialized and take a sizable damage penalty when used against other types of targets. Many of the game's psionic abilities are completely worthless. The game ends on a hilariously terrible cliffhanger that will likely never be resolved due to the... complicated... nature of who currently controls the IP (a law firm, oddly enough!)

3. Fallout 2 - The tutorial section of the game takes way too long and varies wildly in difficulty depending on your character's starting stats. Much of the series' dark humor takes a back seat to a massive number of pop culture references. The coding for critical hits is a bit wonky - they'll either crit for nothing or crit for absurd amounts of damage with not much middle-ground - and it applies both to outbound and inbound critical strikes. Many of the game's quests and zones are either incomplete or incredibly buggy (see: Broken Hills). It's possible with a single keystroke to completely drop out of conversations with no consequences (did you sleep with Mr. Bishop's wife or daughter and get caught? Press a single key to drop out of Mr. Bishop's yelling and walk away completely unharmed!).

4. Jagged Alliance 2 - The enemy AI seems to be able to cheat (cover is more effective for them, and they manage to score hits far more often than you when firing at targets outside of their weapon's effective range). Your character stats increase at an abysmally slow rate, even with high Intelligence. Militia, even when veteran, are practically incapable of defending their territories. If you're not constantly on the offensive, you'll start getting passive-aggressive e-mails from the man who hired you, resulting in sizable loyalty penalties in each of the sectors you've already liberated. Not sure if this really counts as a flaw (since the base game is already fun as-is), but the game gets significantly more awesome after downloading the massive fan overhaul 1.13 patch.

5. Max Payne - The levels where you're either unconscious or drugged feel extremely out of place and have incredibly frustrating gameplay (also, the second one breaks the fourth wall. "I was in a computer game. Funny as hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of."). The end of the game loses a lot of its charm when you're no longer fighting stereotypical Italian-American mobsters. It had sequels.

Honorable Mention...

6. City of Heroes/City of Villains - It's being shut down. Fuck you, NCsoft!

1) Mass Effect 3: Bugs with the cover system and Vanguard glitch.

2) Starcraft 2: Blizzard seems to be actively trying to kill their Mac version, every patch runs slower and slower.

3) World of Warcraft: (I haven't played since the end of LK) So many flaws, but so many nice things, where to start? I'd pick Cata's lack of content to be its biggest flaw.

4) Dead Space 2: ... Hmm. Story I guess? There were some pretty nasty plotholes even though I loved the story overall.

5) Skyrim: Clunky combat, that's glossing over all the huge bugs and forgettable characters.

Halo: Repetitive levels, seriously, the last half of the game was virtually all just backtracking along grey corridors. Especially annoying on that part where the helpful arrows on the floor pointing you in the direction of the control room so you knew you were travelling in the right direction were now pointing in the wrong direction because you were travelling away from the control room

Skyrim The randomisation of quest objects combined with lack of directional dialogue means that they are impossible to complete without resorting to your 4th wall breaking waypoint marker, and the location of the quest item never fits the person's story of how they lost it. "I was just sailing from Dawnstar to Windhelm and pirates stole my cargo." Said cargo turns out to be... ... in one of the furthest possible dungeons from the coast, on the other side of the map.
You take on a sidequest, and it's never close by, it's always halfway across the world.

Minecraft: The first day is never long enough for me. I'd love it to be extended a bit so I don't have to spend that first night in a tiny hut (or hole) hiding from monsters.

Also having no NPCs to occupy your large castles and farms etc. makes it very lonely.

Team Fortress 2 I've just started playing, so I've no items or anything yet, and am still getting used to the classes, so I kinda suck. It would be nice to have some sort of progress benefit though, as it is you don't gain anything long term from getting kills, winning matches, completing objectives etc.

Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 Smarter enemy AI, and better difficulty increase rather than the two choices of "barely ever attacks you and only with weakest units one at a time" to "cheats and unit steamrolls you constantly with unlimited funds and no build time", and some sort of scenario editor would be nice. More than nice, it would be awesome to design your own maps and challenges.

I donno, I have level 40+ gear and when I go into the level 20 area, I can't seem to fight off a group of like 3 vetren mobs.. the other day a non vetren killed me, like quick too..

LRN 2 PLAY NUB!

Seriously though, 3 veteran mobs is an ugly pull, that SHOULD be killing you.

I died to a normal worm the other day on my Thief. Just an ordinary level 14 Worm. Are you playing a Thief? Thieves are made of spun sugar and decorative glass.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - The nasty massive fetch quest at the later half of the game. It was really not that fun.

Chrono Trigger - Uhh... the bonus side quests in the DS version were pretty weak.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 - The pacing can feel pretty off at times. It feels like sometimes there is too much time between story events.

MELTY BLOOD Actress Again Current Code - Netplay isn't as great as one would hope.

Persona 4 Arena - I suppose a flaw could be that story mode is a lot of reading and not enough playing. It's a visual novel experience. Which is no problem for me, but it seems to be for others.

Warcraft 3: The world editor is pretty buggy, the character models look bad, Heroes seem a bit overpowered at times.

Mario 64: some of the jumps just seemed impossible to make because the game controlled pretty awkwardly

Oblivion/Fallout 3/ New Vegas/ Skyrim (lumping them all together): Just very very buggy

Monster Hunter: Controls Awkwardly and has a lot of loading screens

Megaman X 1-5: Bosses were usually a lot harder than the levels, they could have made some of the levels more challenging.

Pokemon RPG series (Green -> White/Black 2): Little innovation between each game other than graphical updates where applicable (GB->GBC->DS) and, the addition of new monsters almost every time. The core gameplay remains almost completely unchanged from Green to Black and White.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: Why did Zelda kind of just...disappear once it was revealed who she was? Before the big reveal she was an awesome character who could obviously take good care of herself.

Theatrhythm - Final Fantasy: Why can't I listen to DLC content in the music player mode?! It kind of devalues the DLC in the first place, doesn't it?

Final Fantasy VIII: Grinding is all well and good but making it so that I can basically become God before fighting the first boss is a bit of an oversight.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time: No SNES equivalent to the NES 4-score so 4-player was impossible.

My top 5 favorite games in no particular order
___________________________________________________________________________________
Persona 4: Getting the desired abilities for your Persona can be a real hassle.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Dawn Of War 2: Games balanced well enough but Imperial Guard needs stronger Tier 1.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Team Fortress 2: Snipers, nine times out of ten they're useless and there's so many.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Psychonauts: Wish the graphics were just slightly better?
___________________________________________________________________________________
Every 2D Castlevania: Honestly can't think of anything, make them longer?

I really enjoyed the gameplay of all of them except Blood Omen 2 (which I still finished for some reason). I played the demo of Soul Reaver that came with The Unholy War on PS1 and the gameplay is what got me to buy it; the story was a pleasant surprise.

Planescape: Torment
Combat is poorly designed, the last few dungeons just throw waves of high level enemies at you and it's simply not fun. The Trias fight proves that the combat system can be great, but Curst Prison made me want to punch a kitten.

Half-Life 2 + Episodes
Water Hazard. Although it did have one or two good moments.

Gemini Rue
The tiny resolution makes it hard to pick out some details in the environment making one or two really obvious puzzles harder than they should be.

Silent Hill 2
While I understand the thematic need for clunky movements and combat, the game does seem to take it too far sometimes. James will not infrequently miss something standing right in front of you, in the direction you're facing with a melee weapon.

Rocket Knight Adventures
I actually can't think of anything I dislike. It's really short, maybe?

Kotor series: not quite enough exploration, and GIVE ME THE DAMN MANDALORIAN HELMETS/ARMOR WHEN I KILL THE BASTARDS. how dare you deny me one of the most awesome armor sets in history..

Dragon Age Series: 2 streamlined way wayyyyyy too much+ cutting corners, and basically cut off what the first one was preaching about...and once again, they both lacked decent exploration.

Socom Series: attempted to control your teammates like a real team leader would do in the field..but dear god if that didn't fuck me up more times than I could count, especially on extract/protect the VIP missions...no story what so ever that was coherent. and the online had shit tons of cheating, sucked it ruined such great games.

Mass effect Series: more and more linear, and don't even get me started on why 3 dropped the ball so fucking much, a nice side desert of shit on top of a 3 course meal. Also the second one suffered from sequelities of a trilogy too much...

Witcher Series: The first one takes some MAJOR dry stuff to get through at first..and the combat is definitely NOT for everyone in the first one. maybe a bit more customization with the way you can look/equip, and perhaps moddability, otherwise there isn't much bad stuff to say about these..especially the 2nd game.

Fallout: New Vegas: Bugs up the ass, but there has been a lack of them lately.
Painkiller Battle out of Hell: Those goddamn clowns. THOSE GODDAMN CLOWNS.
Gmod 13: SO MANY LUA ERRORS
Half Life games: Dem toxic levels, they annoy me.
Fable TLC: LET ME PLAY AFTER BEATING THE GAME DAMNIT

Skyrim- you can't make your on spell like in oblivion which make playing a game boring in my opinion

Dragon Dogma- personally felt you need a horse game world could have been bigger

Dark soul- PvP not that great has it moment but one flaw in otherwise great game

avernum escape from the pit- to easy to cheat to victory

mass effect 3- felt to much like a third person shooter and not enough like a RPG
