I believe that America is the most arrogant country in the world. most probabily think they're gangsters and I hate those type of people. Personally, I say Florida is the only good part of america.
*Revels in the irony*

Thank you sir, you have filled my "I must feel superior to someone because of my shitty self-esteem" quota for today.

Honestly most people i talk to think that America isn't as popular as it likes to think it is. And that Britain really shouldn't try to ally with it.

There are a few problems mainly stemming from your lack of acceptance and ability to look at situations naively (all guns blazing style). Again there are MANY smart and well educated Americans.

But the best example is when i visited America a few years back the amount of people that come up and say ... OHHH GOSH YOUR FROM EUROPE?!?! .... Half right there my friend but can you guess where exactly?

Again Stereotypes. It's the same in any country and i would be naive myself to think otherwise... i like the American people they are friendly, always approachable and have keen community spirit, something that England sadley misses nowadays. :(
Its not our fault that Europe is composed of HUNDREDS of TINY countries. You only have to remember 3 main countries in our continent.

I mean, do you honestly expect me to know just by your accent whether you live Norway or Sweden? or Germany or Austria? Or Spain or Portugal? When you live an ocean away, have almost NO media influence in our country, and are ONE of the FIVE Europeans I have met?

It's a cool place to live, lots of paths to take in life, I really wouldn't rather live anywhere else. At least not at this point my life.

However; I hate that American insist on BEING American. "SPEAK ENGLISH DAMNIT RABBLE RABBLE" bilingualism isn't a bad thing, and it's not another country invading us and trying to take over, we got over those fears after the cold war right? Also, when I went to Toronto, I was embarrassed by the way Americans behaved. They were loud, pushy, rude, and annoying.

I wish we could repair our image in the world, but we've actually got to put some effort ("What's That?!?" many may scream) in order to do it.
Ummm Toronto is in Canada LOL or were you talking about american tourists?

Its in need of improvement, socially, educationally, and intellectually, but nice to live in.

Also, the actually physical beauty of this country is amazing.

Well, at least we have free heal- wait...

I mean, at least its not like there is wide scale political persecution of lefti- well.....

At least its not like religious minorities are horridly mistrusted or anything right?

...

Can I come with you?

OT:

In seriousness, I think was a lucky country to be born into considering that I could have been born in somewhere like Iraq or Darfur just as easily. I don't like the dominating philosophies, and I don't like our government or corporations very much, but there are much worse places to be. I still will be moving to Europe someday.

Americans: The only idiots who would willingly try to rebuild and reinhabit New Orleans

Pretty much sums it up.
fix'd
So your saying you wouldn't try to repair a major port and cultural center?
Not when it will inevitably be destroyed again, it's like repeatedly building a sandcastle that you have watched wash away, how long will you keep repairing it until you decide to move it further up the beach?
This is the reason why any place with a "Hurricane season" shouldn't have huge cities.

A great country to live in populated and usually run by fucking morons.
Also our media sucks. As far as I can tell, we're "meh," just like everyone else.

We aren't the greatest or most liked. I think we do somethings right...but get a lot of shit wrong. A lot, and too many extremes are represented in our culture and politics.
You say "we" like we all have a equal share in what happens in America.

Have you ever been to anywhere else besides America for more than a week? Please say yes or I am going to face palm at your angst.

Well I'm sure this is a repeat thread but whatever, I'll respond anyway. Let me just say...[HEADING=3]Damn you America![/HEADING]

Now let follow up by saying I'm Canadian. I think you should have a pretty good idea of where I stand with these two things.
You better watch out, we might have to send two Navy S.E.A.Ls to come up there and take the place over :p.

I kid, I kid [sub]We would only need one SEAL[/sub]

I think the people trying to get shit done in politics can be described as "D'aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww, look at him try his best."

And the people who are most repblicians can be Charitly described as disagrre able.

And can unchaitrly be discribed as a bunch of hooting dickholes.

Well.
I'm from Iceland, and my view of America is very imbalanced.
I have been obsessed of it since I was 11.
Manhattan & California are the 2 places I wanna go to the most.

The downsides I see are

Too many gun toting idiots.
Worst health care ever.
So much hate & so many rude people...

Growing up here, I had never ever heard a grown man say "fucking" or anything, I always looked at it as an immature thing ( not anymore, but back when I was a kid ) but, watching reality shows and whatnot, the tiniest bit happens to americans, they bump into each other or one guy accidentally drives into a bumper on another guys car at 3 mph, and the other guy LOSES it.

That's how Americans are portrayed, from what I've seen, at least.

But I love speaking to people from different countries, especially America, so I got to talking about these subjects with them, and so, i guess I gotta come over there and experience it myself !

The place you live must really be under-educated and stupid.

Because if you call an immense country like the U.S an intellectually deprived, ignorant
wasteland, you've been looking at the wrong places.

I'm Australian and I really want to visit America one day, especially Washington DC.

As a country I feel kinda sorry for you guys, your seen as the world's police because your the only people with the military power to do it. Yet, people spend half their lives saying your wrong for doing it and the other half telling you to keep doing it.

All the while the lack of money in your domestic sphere is beginning to show, with the insurance and medical issues your having.

I appreciate the foreign policy difficulties you guys have and I think you're doing a good job at it. So yeah, you're doing fine by me. I really want to see the White House in person ( though it's impossible to get inside, just to look at it from Pennsylvania Avenue would be enough.)
You can go to the White House if that's what you want, there are guided tours. All you would have to do is contact the Australian embassy in D.C. and ask them to help you get approval. Given the good relations that the USA and Australia have, I wouldn't be surprised if requests along these lines are a routine part of the embassy's workload.

OT: I live in the USA. Some days I wish the whole country would just burn to the ground. Other days I feel great pride in living here. Most of the time, though, I pinch the bridge of my nose and think to myself, 'Why in the hell do we even bother? We do and we're bloodthirsty tyrants, we don't and we're heartless, cowardly, or senseless. The only way to win this game is to not play'.

I think it's a bland country with next to no culture that has bragged too much and taken up too much... gloaty-think-they-have-power-economy thing.
Also, I hate the American government for thinking they have ultimate power over the world.

I will give you that you may free health care. Also, Canadians do make some kick ass beer. Aside from that though, we do have a great number of things here that aren't so bad. We make some good music, we have some great places of learning, and if you ever need some nuts, visit California!
You left out Microsoft and Apple... One of them has to be important to them considering there posting here :p

Yeah, you'll find that no matter where you are in the world, there are under-educated and stupid people in your vicinity, not just in the US.
