Ha! Im so glad I read this at work.... I own a weapons shop! To the left of my desk are three double handed swords, a knife cabinet with nine assorted blades in it and mini spotting scope, pen torches and army issue first aid kit, A full cash register and a chain whip on top of it, cigarettes and a lighter. If you had said "to the right", it would have been a mug of coffee, so cheers!

I have an italian dictionary (just in case Zombies hate italian) and a book on Psychology ( to see what makes Zombies tick) if they help me understand them, then they can be quite effective heavy weapons.
I have a full drum-kit, a drum stool, an assortment of hats, and ARMY of drum-sticks, and a guitar. Looks like I'm set for making sweet, sweet hat wearin' jams as I'm ripped to shreds by my former friends.
Or, you know, I could just use the pen-knife in my pocked to sharpen all the drum-sticks and the top of the drum stands, to give myself a wide array of spears, then sharpen half the edges of the symbols to turn them into razor-sharp frisbees. The guitar is sturdily built, so it could survive bludgeoning the armies of darkness, and the drums themselves would make good artillery to drop on the first wave. (I live on the 3rd floor, if they try and get in they'll be getting a base-drum to the face). I'll wear the hats.

The most weapon-worthy item to my immediate left of screen and keyboard is a fluorescent tube angle poise lamp, it's got a small roughly cubular weight at one end, then a rather useless screw clamp, I say useless because very few months the whole lamp gets unclamped and crashes onto my table. It will make a pretty decent flail for about 3-4 zombies before the whole assemblage becomes a twisted piece of rubbish.
I do have a can of deodorant but no lighter on my left to turn it into a flame thrower. My wooden replica katana is downstairs -_-; that would probably be my weapon of choice within the house.
