I'm sticking in Unreal Tournament 3 into the mix... worst buy I've ever made.
-1 Respect

OT, the worst one i've bought is WoW. I didn't get into it enough.
The story was written on a piece of faeces smeared paper by the writters/monkeys who were let lose with a typewritter and serious lack of banana's. The campaign itself was the exact same as the multiplayer, except it would eventually get interupted by some armored space marines every so often to tell the world how spawners were amazing.
Tell me with a straight face that the campaign wasn't churned out in the last month of development, because everyone at Epic was still jerking each other off over their success of Gears of War (A great game mind you). Before saying that you buy this game only for multiplayer, I don't buy that, I bought it on what I read about the story, only to be shovled shit whilst Epic laughed at me for paying full price for it.

The campaign is infact in my eyes no different from the campaign for another reason: no one is online! At least the developers had one coherant thought during development as the bots were the only reason a game lobby ever became full. I never knew a time (Even around release) where I would have gotten into a lobby with more than 3 human player, the rest composed of the A.I. and it's dodgy mechanics.

Let me just say I'm eternally grateful for Civilization Revolution being released around the same time or I'd have had little to play over the summer.

The first game that comes to mind is F.E.A.R., a very crappy game that only causes frustration.

Umm, either Star Ocean: The Last Hope or Left 4 Dead 2

I just plain hated Star Ocean and I just haven't seen the need for L4D2 and a pointless game to me is the worst kind of game.

Halo series

Character moved too slow.

Jumped like he was in zero gravity.

Every single player campaign was too easy even on hardest settings.

Sonic Heroes.

It was the start of the downfall of what was once my favourite game series.

Off topic: Wow so many retarded trolls on this thread.

Bioshock isn't THAT mainstream, I found it about as good as Crysis.
Half life isn't exactly mainstream, and I loved all the ones I played (1, redemption, episode 1, episode 2)
And if you find puzzles dull how can you like solving them?
Half life is a mainstream fps, look how many copies it has sold. For a fps on this generation of consoles it is quite mainstream
No, I think you misinterpreted what I wrote, I mean I find most puzzle games boring. Braid is the only puzzle game I've really liked.

Dark corners of the earth - because not only was it terribly buggy and teeth-grindingly scripted and linear but it was so very good at the start that it got my hopes up just to crush them under its tendril tipped flippers

And why do you find them boring?

Because you hate using your brain.
I thought so.

smash brothers brawl.

Basing that on the quality between melee and brawl. Sure brawl looked better but, any game no matter how shitty can have charicter skins like that.

Destroy All Humans, the series overall,

Final Fantasy XII. I'm sure it's not the worst game made in the decade but it was the worst for me. All that build up before it came out only to be horribly, horribly disappointed.

I don't like GoW either. MOST mainstream games are either average or below average. Crysis is the exception that comes to mind, that one was above average. Not great, but definitely quite good.

And going by your opinion on ZP, you obviously hate solving puzzles, which means you obviously hate using your brain. :/
What about Bioshock? COD? Hell Half life is pretty mainstream too. never played Crysis, my computer would never run it :(
I don't hate solving them but I find a lot of puzzle games to be dull, Braid being an exception that comes to mind

I'm curious: What do you consider mainstream? Half-Life, for instance, has sold better than every Zelda game, so I don't think that can really be considered an alternative title.

Perfect Nightmare: Overkill goes in this thread.

...So what if it was only a demo? Garbage sucks. Bad.

Tekken 6, Mirror's Edge, and Infinite Undiscovery can also chill here.

So because I don't like Half Life, I don't like using my brain

That has seriously got to be one of the silliest things I have ever heard. I hated it because it was boring, repetitive, mute characters are irritating and just because I don't have your opinion doesn't mean I hate to use my brain.
You're clearly not open for any form of debate and I really can't be bothered to argue against someone who is a such a close-minded PC gamer.
