Your worst Oh Shit, RUN! moment...

The one most atop my mind at the moment would have to be an oblivion scenario...

I decided since it was an umpteenth time playthrough I'd play through my mods etc... first and leave the main mission until last... this was going great, until the time the great daedric gate gets opened... I'm stood there with all my soldiers waiting for the 3 smaller gates and larger gates, when suddenly the usual flood comes rushing at you, however this time since I was high level by this point, all the highest level daedras came running at me, consisting of dremoras, xivilais, spiders and storm atronarchs.

At first it was a brief moment of worry, which then lapsed as I remembered I had around 9 guards with me... brief mistake as all 9 guards got dropped within the first minute of fighting... this left me protecting martin and jaufree solo against around 10 top level daedras that were respawning as soon as I killed one... deffinately an ohh shit moment, unfortunately running wasn't an option.

Thankfuly I did survive this encounter due to my warrior setup, however I'd have been royaly fucked if I'd have went archer which was my innitial intention.

I have yet another moment, relating to World of Warcraft.

I'd been playing WoW for years, on and off mostly, but this happened just last year. I wasn't on a PvP realm but my buddy Syrul and I were on PvP killing the Horde outside of SW (I play both sides, but mainly Alliance since I know more people there). So we've had our fun, decided to travel to Kalimdor via boat at the Stormwind Harbor, no problem.

So we're still in PvP as we're waiting at the harbor for the boat, we're on our mounts like king shits and just waiting, waiting, and here comes the boat. Well my PvP JUST runs out, I'm free but my friend still has time left, as the boat approaches, what do we see? Oh give or take 20-30 Horde PvPers ready to beat the living hell out of everyone. Worst part of it was, neither of us were 80 (he was close) but I was around 60. Thankfully, I wasn't in PvP, but you can bet your ass I jumped in that water as they gangbanged his ass, they didn't even stop to kill him, they stampeded his ass and killed him.

Needless to say, we've been more careful being PvP while taking a boat.

There are plenty more experiences, all of them ending with "RUN ************ RUN!!! FUCK RUUUUUN!" They mostly involve massive aggroed mobs and us being the only two in dungeons...good times, good times.

one time me and my friends were taking turns playing MW2 but i was bored of online and decided to be stupid and go play a private match so i invited all the people that were online and started playing. it was on estate and no one joined and i didn't think anyone would so i was just going around looking at all the little easter eggs and movie titles and what ever. so i went up the stairs and i see a guy boom shotgun to the face. i freaked out i was like
what....did some one just invade my life!!!

i had no idea there was anyone else there i was all by myself then dead it was the most scared/ confused i have every been playing a video game

That whole mission was one of the scariest moments in gaming for me, seeing figures jigging around in the rooms and hallways from a distance and slowly learning about the grim past of the hotel made me want to flee.

Well, there was this one time me and my friends were playing a joke on another friend. It started out as stealing a pumpkin, but somehow in the process the pumpkin ended up getting set on fire. I realized then, that I didn't need Redbull for wings. A burning pumpkin and my very pissed off friend was enough.

The only real "OH SHIT" moment that comes to mind is (sorry) another Fallout 3 one. I was blissfully patrolling the Northern Wastes when a huge ass albino scorpion shows up over the next hill and begins it's stampede towards me. I was level 14, and didn't have all that much firepower on me at the time. I logically decided I didn't want to die, and I sprinted off past it and it began it's chase. In a few moments, another goddamn albino radscorpion showed up to join its buddy in attempting to capture and devour me. I yell to my friend over xbox live what's going on. He laughs. I get away after about a minute of frantic crying when a DAMN SQUAD OF GIANT ANTS show up to chase me. Not only that, but the squad of ants must have been in cahoots with the pair of radscorpions, because they showed up again to resume the chase. That was two radscorpions and four giant ants chasing me. I ducked into an abandoned tent after losing them, and breathe into my mic that I think I got away. A deathclaw walked in. I kid you not, a deathclaw stepped into the abandoned tent and looked around. I was in sneak mode, my characters face pretty much pressed up against the wall and the deathclaws ass. Luckily, I unloaded my 10mm sub into the back of it's head with sneak attack bonuses, and survived.

Otherwise, I usually run towards imminent danger. On Dragon Age, when Morrigans mumsy decided to pull the very sudden and surprising transformation into a goddamn dragon, I looked at her in surprise and then called to my team, "F**k her up!" and attacked. I died, but I still felt really epic.

That gawddamn Berserker in Gears of War. I mean, I have to waste bullets so this 10-ton house with legs can use my dead body as a punching bag? I remember the first time I faced off with that thing. It greeted me by backhanding my head off. All I got in word-wise was, "Oh shi-"..but to find out the Berserker was female?! If she wasn't on her period then...God help us all.

I usually just knocked him off his horse, then stole his horse and rode away on it xDD

He was not pleased <_<

(1) i was playing 3 rode up on a horse (not red hare) i was in the red and thought "since red hare is the fastest in the game lets take it" and hop on.

well he hops on my horse it turns into red hare and he runs me down.



(2) i was playing fatal frame 2 with a friend overworking on finishing the ghost list i was wering the shrine maiden kimonos and had the camera up when i put it down mayu was reaching foreward like she was going to strangle me!
unfortunatly havent been able to duplicate it but anyone who wants to try ill tell you where i was and at what point.


(3) i was playing WOW for a while and as a hunter i'm allowed a pet so a friend of mine tells me "you like beast wars and you cant tame a t-rex but you can tame a purple raptor"

so i harth to a meeting place and they run me out to the barrens, so while out there a raptor attacks me i just barely survive and tame it only for my friend to say "WTF! i have a much better raptor for you right here, thats it!"

she harths out leaving me there .... i was just at the pet getting lv so i had a ton of OHshit moments as BWMeggs (my pet) and i desperatly ran back to allience territoy finally making it to auburdine then back to darnasus

I had one of those moments IRL once. I've had too many in games to remember them

Basically me and my friends were trespassing on my schools roof at night, think low risk Mirrors Edge, and all night i was really paranoid about the police turning up because i'd never gotten into trouble like that before D:

At one point we were playing hide'n'seek though and i stopped to see this car parked my the school gate in the distance (bad eyesight D: ) and one of my friends shouted police while already in the process of running off >.>

The nearest exit that wasn't swarming with police was on the other end of this really long field and i wasn't the best runner. Just so happened to be 2 police on patrol and walking past the gate we were running towards that knew nothing about was going on which is really bad luck, but we gave in anyway.

To a kid with a fairly average life this very much qualifies as an Oh Shit moment :3

In Silent Hill 2 at the end of the hospital. Things have been looking up for poor old James Sunderland, he has a friend and he's finally getting out of the freaking scary hospital. You start walking towards the exit when you hear this weird sound. Your radio goes crazy and you know who's coming. Yes, the huge bastard with the Pyramid Helmet and giant knife is back, and he materializes RIGHT BEHIND YOU. He's now armed with a lightweight spear, so he moves 5 times faster. You run for your life to the exit, with the big guy still in pursuit. However, your friend is not so lucky. Just after you get into the elevator, she comes running when the doors start closing. You try to open the door, but you can only watch as the creature lances straight through her with the spear. The last you see of her is her hand, sliding out of the barely open elevator doors. You turn around and kneel, and the sad music starts playing. The only person in the town you could call a friend is dead, bleeding out somewhere in the hospital basement.

I'm sure there are others, but being spotted by one of the infected in Penumbra: Black Plague ranks high up there. Or one of the worms. I suppose in most games, you generally don't run as much as you shoot/generally violence it faster.

Well, that and with my vocabulary, it's more likely to be something to the effect of "oh, fiddlesticks, I must flee post-haste." Well, close, anyway. Probably.

The first time I saw Ethereals in X-Com: UFO Defense. It was a nighttime Terror Mission in America(meaning I couldn't just drop out, as they were giving me quite a bit of funding.)

I ended up losing most of my soldiers and reloading my last save, just ignoring the mission. The US ended up signing a contract with the aliens and stopped providing me with money anyway, though.
...So yeah. Ethereals.

Its not really in the degrees of absolute terror, but in Bioshock when I was first playing the game, I went into the room that steams up in Medical Pavalion section. I grabbed the tonic and tried to walk backwards, finding that I couldnt, so I turned slowly, to see one of the splicer doctors just standing there looking at me.
I literally jumped off my seat at that, uttering "Oh Shit!!!" as I did so.
Maybe I just scare too easily...

Haha the first time I played that was with my brother and a friend, bro was at the controller. As soon as he saw it he emptied both barrels into his face as we all screamed so fuckin loud!
