i live in the mountains so i (along with every neighbor of mine) owns a firearm and i actually know one of those crazy people worried about the end of the world and has a fallout shelter with years of food inside of it. so basically im good on guns, food (hunting/ shelter), shelter, and zombies wont come up the mountain this far

Ok, just to be original I'm gonna pack up lots of food from my house and the local supermarket then go to the shopping centre and barricade the entrances, the good thing about this is that there are very few windows outside and the only way up to the other floors are easily barricaded escalators, except the roof car park but we could defend that quite easily as it makes a nice bottle neck. I'd probably just wait there with others for as long as we could, if the zombies showed no signs of thinning out then I'd probably grab my camping gear and some food and head North and camp out at the lake district or something, assuming that the zombies get that far North and the roads are open. If the roads are closed its a few weeks walk, so I probably wouldn't get far.

That's probably what 98% or more will be doing because they are unprepared.

For the other posters:

Drive your car out of town/city? You think you are the only person that is smart enough to run to your car and drive away. You're not and you know what that means? Traffic jam. Good time for zombies.

Run to your neighbor? They have their own troubles and limited resources. You're just a dead weight to those that are prepared.

Do you have a Bug Out Bag(s)? Do you know the route that is least travel so you don't get stuck. Do you have Plan B and C? Weapons? How prepare are you? I'll bet not much just like the people in New Orleans when Katrina hit.

With that article in mind, I'd just barricade the door of my apartment and sleep in.

Run to the nearest gun store, steal a pistol, shotgun, and assult rifle and all the ammo I can fit in my backpack, which would be a lot, get some food to last for a week at least, go to the top of a building and hold out for as long as possibl.

That's not going to work because the workers there will shot you to death. All gun store workers carry at least one handgun on them at all time. Good luck trying to steal from a gun store.

1) Grab pickaxe/crowbar/4-foot steel pole/shovel from under the house.
2) Grab all the liquid-filled canned food I can comfortably carry.
3) Go on a killing spree from here to Scalloway.
4) Distribute weapons.
5) Form an elite zombie-killing squad.
6) Get paid to hunt down the remaining zombies when civilisation is up and running again.
7) Die during a routine zombie-killing/be sacrificed to our feline overlords.

Alternative plan, Dress up in the most bizarre outfit and purposely get bitten so I end up as the most oddly dressed walking dead seen by human survivors

Ring the police. If they can deal with not-braindead people with weapons, they can deal with braindead people who are unarmed.

hahahah. I would think the police will not answer your call for help. They have their own problems to deal with. You on your own.

My Zombie Plan.

Gather supplies and go live out the epidemic on an empty island (lake island probably). Since from what I've seen zombies can't swim.

1. Round up survivors from my neighbourhood area (i.e friends and anyone else who wants to).
2. Get a bus from the local bus depot 10 minutes up the road.
3. Stop off at Tescos, stock up on booze and food and can openers.
4. Hightail it into the centre of Edinburgh which is only 20 minutes away, plus the roads will be empty since people will be trying to get out.
4.5 Stop off at army base along A90. Stock up on any weapons there.
5. Get up to Edinburgh Castle, lower portcullis. Practice running with chain mail on.
6. Scour city for survivors and food and fuel.
7. Steal books from Edinburgh Library.
8. Print off useful tips in survival from internet while it's still running.
9. Set up flying fox between Castle and Princes' Street.
10. Go Shopping.
11. Look fabulous.
12. ???
13. Profit

I thought I had the shotgun under my bed for a reason...... and they said home defense would never be an issue cus thats what we got cops for. Oww ok, guess now we got ZOMBIE COPS! Yea and also find a defendable position. Come to think of it surviving a zombie outbrake would be a lot like the basic gurilla warfare they (the US) teaches us in basic military training. Might they know something we do not?
