I suppose my punctuation could have been better. Was just saying it's nice to make sure you have an answer to the question "What's your favourite film". Too many times I get the answer "oh, I can't choose my favourite film, there's too many I'm very fond of". So it's good to choose a favourite film, even if you're not certain that it is your favourite film - for the purposes of whenever the question springs up.

My favourite film is Withnail and I.

On another note I want all spell checkers to stop telling me "favourite" is incorrect spelling. Grr.

I don't have a definitive favorite, but if there is one movie I can watch over and over and enjoy every moment of it that would be The Crow.

Brandon Lee is just a perfect fit, he totally embodies that loving but vengeful character. If you've read O'Barr's novel you know his Crow character was much darker, but even with the film's writers toning down the darkness of the novel for the film Lee still comes across as a crazy and unstoppable son of a *****.

And O'Barr himself loved Lee's portrayal, too bad it was his last.

American Psycho, 28 Days Later, & Clockwork Orange.

Maybe Smoking Aces too.
Smoking Aces was so great, exactly what I want an over the top action movie to be. And Ryan Reynolds is fantastic (especially at the end).

Exactly. Perfect action without unnecessary and overly fantastical explosions.

My favorite characters are probably the Tremor Brothers. I mean, the scene where the one is talking to Ben Affleck's corpse and moving his mouth? PRICELESS. I also wonder how many times they had to film that scene. I would have started cracking up, personally.

Also, "You killed my friends."
"Yeahhh, sorry about that."

Found the actual quote:
Hollis Elmore: You shot me, and you murdered my friends... and you dumped us in the lake.
Darwin Tremor: Pretty much.

Too funny.

Catch me if you can, Pulp Fiction, Donnie Darko, Goodfellas and the Usual Suspects.
You have very good taste!

I'll add to that list:

Shawshank Redemption
Green Mile
Kill Bill(s)
The Wrestler
Magnolia
Into the Wild
Mystic River
The Best of Youth
Dr. Strangelove
There Will Be Blood
Requiem for a Dream
American Beauty
The Lives of Others
Equilibrium
Tulpan
Goodbye Solo
Raging Bull
American Movie

... etc. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably say either one of the Darabont films (Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption) or Magnolia.

EDIT: Oh, holy crap, I forgot about Wes Anderson. Rushmore was fantastic.

Guess.

Actually, that's a bit mean as Watchmen isn't my favourite. My all time favourite film would probably have to be Fight Club. The surreal style of it, the way it mocks other films and their design, the acting in it (First film I had ever seen Jared Leto in. Brilliant actor, as well as the two main actors) and the end of it is so astonishing and something you would never expect, I just love that film.

-The Fall
-The Actors
-Death Becomes Her

EDIT: I used to watch that last one a lot when I was little, but I was barred from it until I was in my teens because I decided to mimic the 'Ernest, you pushed me down the stairs' scene on my dad. Knocked him out cold. 0_0

You can't make us choose just one... that's inhumane, so I will choose two that I really love.

Had to make a account just to yell at you all to make sure you have picked a favorite film even if you're not exactly sure it is your favorite film so that when it comes up in conversation you can be sure you don't have to give that incredibly boring answer of "oh i don't kno i like a lot of films rly but i can't choose bla".

All the posters above seem to have done a pretty good job avoiding that however so gz!
And mine's Withnail and I.
Wh...What?
Wow. Brain failure.

Mine's Princess Mononoke. Trully epic and awesome to the MAX.

I'll have to settle on top five (in that order roughly)

I like Thank you for smoking, I'm not there (Obviously)
I preferred No Direction Home then I'm not there, I like how it focused on a smaller period in greater detail. And had great footage of some of the concerts (which were so different from when i saw him earlier this year) good to see Dylan in his prime
You sir, have wonderful taste. Goodfellas and The Usual suspects are also in my top 5, along with Memento, Reservoir Dogs, and my favorite movie Rocky. I agree with u on NDH as opposed to I'm not There, but they were different styles. INT was a Artistic Biopic while NDH was a documentary, but i prefered NDH but both were great looks into Dylan's life

The Tremor Brothers were hysterical sociopaths and that scene is incredible, particularly what follows the dialog.

What really impressed me was the simplicity of the set up that leads to all these insanely deadly killers converging on one target, yet the plot is deeper then they lead you to believe at first. And even then, they don't try to be TOO convoluted, it balances out wonderfully.

I'm stuck between these two movies...

Princess Mononoke- I think the story and artwork complement one another perfectly as it can connect to those who love the occasional love story and are worried about the still current environmental issues our planet faces, using the medium of myth and lore to do so.

Moulin Rouge!- I think it's a beautifully written and acted musical that is almost kin to Romeo and Juliet in the way the title characters seem like star crossed lovers that keep you entertained all the way to the end.
