Sure, but you could say that about anybody--that's as much an argument to elect Tina Fey as to elect Sarah Palin.
So you don't think it is important to consider who they decide to surround themselves with? You don't think that influences a candidate's opinion? A lot of people hate Bush simply because of Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfield.
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Sorry about that, I wrote a lot that late last night. I was on allergy meds and probably didn't make sense.
How is that more precise? The reason those three or four large cities make California a blue state isn't because they are cities--it's because they're full of people. Why should people count less just because they live in densely populated areas?
It's kind of hard for blue states to complain that they are putting more in and taking less because they are the ones that benefit the most from the resources coming out of the red states. Do you honestly think California should complain about putting in more than they take when they get a lot of their energy and most of their water from red states?
Obviously things like military are a push, everyone benefits from it, but if most of the military bases are in red states then they are going to require more federal moneys. Those red states also require more federal money for agriculture to help feed those large cities. I don't think you see the kind of strain that larger populated areas force on the rest of us. Southern California alone sucks more water than the entire western US combined except maybe Texas. Why do you think the Colorado River and Lake Meade are going dry? You add climate change into the mix, then I can see places like Los Angeles and San Diego becoming almost unlivable in the near future.
I can understand why Palin and others want to lower federal government, the smaller red states are getting tired of being the blue states' *****. Even though the states that would vote for her seemingly would benefit by doing otherwise, in reality it's the blue states (more likely just a few large cities and their surrounding counties) that benefit from that wellfare.
I hope that makes sense. I ain't kidding when I say I hate Zyrtec (or whatever this damned allergy medication is called... I have been less loopy downing shots of tequila).
