I've never seen any star wars or lord of the rings movies or the godfather movies or pulp fiction...but I did see fight club
Well, I've seen PART of it, not the entire thing (due to me being five years old and running from the room crying).MrShadowzs said:I have a friend who has never seen the Wizard of Oz, SERIOUSLY IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE

Older generations are bound to have seen these movies, and since most of them have either attained cult classic or simply just classic status, a lot of younger movie-goers have as well.
But not everyone has a desire to track down every so-called 'classic' movie made in the last forty years, especially if it came out before they were even conceived. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but it's just the typical mindset of people. They know about recent classics because they were there to see them when they premiered, when they were at the height of their popularity. That leaves way more of an impact then having someone tell you about a movie you've never even heard of.
well, obviously, the content of a movie IS more important than the people who play in it.Obviously I'm not much of a movie-goer myself. I see the uber-big releases and will occasionally pop in a movie from my rather small DVD collection, though I've at least heard of most of the movies that were listed. Just please, please, please for the love of God do NOT expect me to know every single actor who has ever starred in a movie. I know some movie buffs who, when I ask what a movie is about, start listing off all of the actors in the movie. No, I asked what it was about, even if I was read-up on actors how would that tell me what it's about? I know the super-obvious mega celebrities, but if it's an actor that's only appeared in one or two sleeper hits, then don't act shocked when I don't know who they are.
Well it's college, so you can pretty much show them whatever you want. However it makes the fact that they don't know things all the more distressing. I mean, seriously. How can you be in college and get away with being SO naive and uninformed about the world? It's crazy!Gamurga said:I cant believe a teacher showed Tetsuo in school. That's irresponsible and... well, it's awesome.Skarecrow13 said:So, she likes to mess with them by showing them things they would not only never see on their own, but also that they probably aren't prepared for in a movie going experience. Like using the 80's as an excuse to talk about foreign film, and then showing them Tetsuo: The Iron Man in class. HA! I love her so.
