Because some trap cards alot of people use are horribly overpowered. I've never been a fan of that and thats why I lost alot of tournaments.

Its always people with no strong monsters or spells and then WHAM kills me with one powerful trap cards. It drives me crazy

That's part of the design of the game.
There are upsides and downsides to using trap cards like that.

Upsides are, as has been mentioned, they can be really powerful.
Downsides?
A skilled opponent can evade them.
Often, the powerful ones have specific activation conditions.
Mirror Force and Torrential Tribute for example are some of the strongest around, but they still have conditions needed to trigger them.

Choose not to use them, your decision.
But, yeah.
Not cheating.

Am i the only person here who has no idea what the hell this is all about?

Sereously all the card games i've ever played use Spades, Dimonds, Hearts,or Clubs.

How does this game work? I am genuinly cureous

They're not fantastic, and you may need to watch a few games before you get the idea properly, but they explain it well enough.

i had a feind deck baced around goblin king and ravial lord of darkness (basicly a feind obalisc) it was fun tho i do still have one strong card which is really speacal to me (yup im weird a piece of card is one of my most treasured posetions =P)but i dont use it incase it gets dammaged called Shinato, King of a higher Plane

Um, did you mean to quote me, because Sarah Kerrigan is the one who said that. But yes, I do use trap cards: Mirror Force, Nightmare Wheel, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, Divine Wrath, and Imperial Order to name a few.
