Dude. It's okay. You have a life outside the Escapist, I think we can all understand that. At least you had the balls to come back and continue the RP. Too bad there isn't an award for longest hiatus, eh? You might wanna send out PM's to all the players telling them we are live again.

...That being said, YAY! It's back! :)

Damien cracked his knuckles, wincing as pain shot up his left hand, the veins throbbing. He rubbed the back of his hand to get the blood flowing and decided he might as well rattle off his scores first. "Let's see... I got th' Devil's numbers fer the punchin' bag at 666 points, then managed t' pull off an 'A' fer Time Crisis. Finally, fer DDR, I managed t' pull off an 'S' on Bullet for My Valentine's Fever, goin' at about a hundred 'n fifty beats per second." Damien clenched his left fist and waited for his training regimen. He had loved that feeling of his Spirit Energy surging down his arm, releasing it all in a single blow. Yes, it had hurt like hell, but Damien wondered what damage it could do should he ever perfect it. Damie. Grinned as he realized he had finally found a close-range attack to balance his mostly ranged arsenal.

"Lessee..." Lina took a moment to think. "I got a B on the DDR machine for the song 'Butterfly', a 150 on the Punch Machine, and a C+ on Time Crisis."

She crosses her arms across her chest, as she thought a bit more, then said, "Just out of curiousity, what exactly do the scores have to do with our... powers, anyway?"

Yay! You're back! Now maybe we can get this show on the road!

Alex rubbed his head a bit as he walked over to where the others were gathering. He took up a spot somewhat behind the others; it was quickly becoming something of a normal spot for him since he could easily see over the shorter students.

"Well, I got an 883 on the punching machine. New record I guess." He said with a small but proud smile. He seemed a bit apologetic about his other scores though. "Got a C- on Time Crisis. C+ on DDR, though I could have probably gotten a little better."

Alex laughed at himself a little for a moment. "Hope I don't end up some one trick pony."

"B on DDR," Angelo began, "B on Time Crisis and 600 from the punching machine." Angelo informed Genkai. They were respectable scores but Angelo didn't show much emotion from them. Some people did better than him on some and not on others. He wasn't perfect, he wasn't the best, but surely coming against hordes of demons, they would all have to be? They aren't going to be much of a pushover, that's for sure.

No matter, I guess. Angelo thought, That's what this trainer is for.

"Very good. Now. You will come here every weekend and do the same series of games every time. your scores are saved on the machines so when you finish, you know whether or not your skills are improving." Genkai explained. "You will continue doing this until you can get at least 800 on the punching bag and A's on the other two machines. At that point, I will progress you onto more practical training exercises. Until then, i have some trinkets to help you train your powers in the meantime." Genkai pulled a satchel out from her Gi and emptied the contents onto the top of the change dispenser.

Among the contents, were a light bulb, a small cube of metal, a crystal sphere, a workout wristband, and a ballpoint ink pen. "These objects are designed to be like dumbbells for your spirit energy."

"Angelo, this light bulb is for you. Your power is the ability to convert your spirit energy into an electrical current. I have modified this light bulb to react to your power when you use it. It will only glow if you focus your energy into the bulb. i want you to exercise your power every night on the light bulb for as long as you can sustain it without hurting yourself. Spirit energy is something that grows as its used. Think of as leveling up a skill in a video game." Genkai explained as she handed the bulb to him.

"Carolina, this cube is for you. It is made of Voidium, a substance from demon world known for its spirit energy rejection properties. This cube will prove much more difficult to levitate than a crate or a rock. For now, don't try to lift it. Instead, focus on merely moving it from one point to another. Its properties make it so that spirit energy has a difficult time getting a hold on it, so this should prove to be a suitable workout for you." Genkai handed the little black cube to the girl.

"Damien, this sphere is made of a similar substance called Containium. This element absorbs and stores all types of spirit energy inside it. Even your volatile energy will not scratch it. I want you to place the sphere at a safe distance and throw your explosive spheres into it. If the energy is within a five foot radius of the sphere, it will be sucked into the sphere and it will glow bright red. As I said before with Angelo, use it each night until your spirit energy is depleted. Your spirit energy regenerates whenever you sleep so no need to worry about waking up depleted." She tossed the sphere to Damien.

"Jack, this wristband slows the wearer down considerably, as if lead weights were attached to every part of your body. If your power is like an adrenaline function then you need to find a way to tap into it at any time. So, if you want to move normally, you will have to find that adrenaline function and activate it until you can sustain it no more. eventually, this will strengthen your body as well as help you find out more about your power." Genkai placed the wristband into Jack's hand.

"Alex, this pen contains a very special ink that automatically draws from your spirit energy whenever you write with it. This imbues whatever you have written with some spirit energy. Every night i want you to keep a diary entry of the events that occurred that day. This will make it easier for you to learn how to imbue the ink yourself while at the same time strengthening your energy reserves." Genkai tossed the pen to Alex.

Jason noticed that there wasn't anything left for him on the counter. "Umm...excuse me, but what about me? What can I do?" Jason asked. Did she forget about me?

Genkai turned to jason and replied. "No, your shield depletes nearly all of your spirit energy at your current level. Forming and dispelling it once a day is plenty workout for your body and energy."

Genkai turned back to the rest of the group. " Are there any questions. Speak now if you have them. I don't want to hear about how you blew up an orphanage simply because you were too stupid to ask how to properly work your item. " Genkai barked.

If you have any questions about these items, then please pm me and we'll discuss it. :)

Lina cautiosusly took the small cube, which was about thesize of a dice cube and about the same weight. It was very... inocuous-looking, to be sure.

"Um... thanks...?" Lina put the cube away in her bag, intending to try it out later.

Damien shrugged and took the crystal sphere. It was a little heavier than a baseball, but just the right size, feeling normal in his hand. He rolled it down along his shoulders and arms before flicking it into the air and catching it. "Alright, spirit weightliftin'. I c'n get behind that." Damien thought for a moment. "Hey, Genkai, this thing can't overload, right? It ain't gonna blow up in my face with a year's worth o' energy? Because that would probably take out the neighborhood." Damien really did not want to have to explain that one to his parents.

Genkai turned to Damien with a calm expression on her face. "No, at your current level, you couldn't fill that orb to one percent of its capacity. Even if you emptied your energy into it every night for a year. No, there's no need to worry about the orb overloading." She explained.

If there are no more questions about the items i've given you. then I will advance the plot. PM me now with your concerns or forever hold your peace.

Alex reached out easily enough to catch the pen. However, he suddenly winced a little and drew his hand back. "Ouch." he said quietly. Looking at his hand he saw a small cut on his thumb, a trickle of blood seeped out. Alex poped his thumb into his mouth for a moment and sucked on the slight wound. Taking it out again he could see that the bleeding had already stopped and the stinging was fading as well.

The pen meanwhile was laying innocently at Alex's feet, there was no sign of any blood spilled at all. With a bit more care then was probably necessary he picked up the pen and gave it a quick look over. This time the pen was quite harmless. Satisfied he pocketed the item.

Well learning to use his spirit energy would probably be easy compared to just trying to figure out what was going on. "No questions for now." He said with a shrug.

"Alright if there are no other questions then you are to go back to school and meet up with Botan there. I believe that she is finished interrogating the ogre you captured. Don't forget to use your items this evening. I will see you all back here this weekend. Dismissed!" Genkai ordered as she walked out of the arcade.

Jason looked at the others with envy, why did they get such special items and he got nothing? Jason grumbled to himself. He turned around and started walking back towards the school, complaining under his breath. "I'll see you guys back at the school, i'm kinda pissed off and wanna walk alone for a bit." Jason called back to the group before stomping off down the sidewalk.

Meanwhile Genkai had continued walking inconspicuously away from the arcade. Fully aware of the floating eye spying on her and the students. When it left, she would follow it.

==========================================

Look's eye was still hovering high above the arcade. He was sure that he had remained undetected. It appeared as though the students and the master were parting ways. Look was torn between which one to follow since both were prime targets. Genkai seemed to be the most important one in the group at the time, being both their instructor and very powerful at the same time was worth a little extra spying. Look's eye continued to follow Genkai as she walked along the streets of Danmour.

==========================================

Shien's trip to Demon world was fruitful. He had located the demons he needed and had recruited them for a price. He and his new underlings returned through the portal underneath their headquarters. Now, four demons of varying size and shape stood in front of Shien's demonwood desk.

"I'm glad that you all could come on such short notice. As I explained earlier, we are having difficulties retrieving something that belongs to us. A certain demon named Bleu. She has failed to uphold her payments and as such has forfeited the right to stay in this world. I want you four to bring her back to me alive."

"Tanke the Iron Knight." Shien addressed a tall, very muscular grey demon with many thin horns on his head instead of hair.

"Tori, the light-hidden ninja." A human shaped demon with a bleached white ninja gi covering his body from head to toe.

"Hydras, the seven pronged beast." A scaly reptilian humanoid with puke green colored scales. one other thing of note was the six tendrils dragging on the ground a good four feet behind him.

"And Kira, the pied pipetress." A Female demon, a physically attractive woman who's only demonic indication is the fact that her ears are are pointed sharp. Though, these are hidden behind her pitch black hair.

"Understood sir!" The four said in unison.

"Look! Fill these four in on the situation regarding Bleu's guardians."

"As you wish sir. There are six high-schoolers who have developed powers lately that have been defending Bleu from our attempts to retrieve her. One of them can form a large shield on his right arm, one can throw explosive spheres, one can create electricity, one can read thoughts and levitate small objects, one has enhanced physical capabilities, and one has an unknown ability that was undiscernable from my observations. The students all attend the local High school and are being taught by the legendary Genkai. Exercise extreme caution when approaching the students when Genkai is around. She is legendary for a reason." Look's eyeless body explained to the four demons.

"Genkai...wasn't she supposed to be dead? I remember her passing away ten years ago." Kira asked slightly worried.

"Yes, she was deceased until recently, Koenma apparently resurrected her to train the teenagers." Shien explained.

"It shouldn't be a problem, matter of fact, I think i can finish this job by the end of the day." Tanke joked in an extremely bass voice. He walked out of the room, leaving his three comrades behind...

Lina watched Jason go, frowning slightly. Geez, what got into him? She wondered as she gathered her things. It's not like he has something to help enhance his powers already...

She left the arcade quickly, glancing around nervously. For some strange reason, she couldn't help but shake the feeling they were being watched...

You're just being paranoid, she chastised herself, And ever since I got these powers, I've been hearing a lot of things... Damn, I should have asked Old Lady Genkai about it... nah. I'll wait until the next time I see her...

And with that, she headed back towards the school, still slightly nervous for some reason she couldn't really place...

I hope this "hearing mental voices" thing didn't come out of nowhere, I'll have to work on that more in the future...

For a second Alex almost followed Jason. The guy was clearly not feeling well and seemed like he could use some cheering up. However, something about his demeanor made even Alex back off and decide to head back to the group. Besides, with the amount of spirit energy Alex had already used today he was already starting to feel a little tired.

For a moment Alex thought he saw something weird in the window of the arcade, but when he looked to where he thought it should be there was nothing. Genkai and Jason were already gone anyways.

Alex wondered if Jason would be all right on his own, but decided it would be fine. Surely even this Black Hole group couldn't launch three attacks in as many days.

Falling in behind Lina, Alex began to head back to school. In idol thought he gazed upward and watched the clouds float by. "That Genkai sure is a character, huh?" He said casually as he walked.

Lina glanced at the other two. "Ah, maybe later," she said to Jack, who seemed a bit... jittery. "Maybe we could stop by Starbucks again, see if Bleu's still there." Privately, she wondered how the snake demon was holding out, surprised by her concern for the demon.

To Alex, she said, "Yeah, I don't know what it is, but there's something... weird about her. I can't really place it, but something feels off... well, she certainly seems to know what she's doing. I hope her training really pays off, though..."

Having lived in the City of (Fallen) Angels for most of his life, Damien had learned to become a bit more... feral than many of his companions. He felt the hairs raise on the back of his neck, and whipped his head around. As he spun, he caught a spherical shadow out of the corner of his eye. Just as quickly as he turned to face it, it disappeared. A fortnight ago, Damien would have dismissed the shadow as a figment of his imagination. But the past week or so had opened his eyes to a whole new world, and he knew things weren't always as they seem. He ran to catch up with Alex and the others. He didn't feel like he was being watched anymore, but the apprehension remained, like the silence of the ocean before a tsunami.

Damien raised an eyebrow as he heard Jack try to speak. "Something tells me the underwear trick ain't gonna work with 'im." Damien almost laughed at the image. The guy would probably die of massive nasal hemmoraging. Damien became a bit more somber as he once again reflected upon Bleu and her situation. "I think so. I told 'er t' stay in places with plenty o' people. It won't get 'er help, but it'll be easier fer 'er t' disappear int' the crowd." Damien once more felt a sense of apprehension as the sun began to sink towards the horizon. He felt like a dog right before an earthquake. "H-Hey, do any o' y'all feel like... Somethin' big's about t' go down? C'mon, let's just hurry. This feels like the silence right 'fore 'n earthquake. Jack, can you take that damn bracelet off, just fer t'day? I'll take the blame fer it, but sumthin' just don't feel right." Damien's speech began to slur into his regional dialect as he became more agitated. Damien looked up at the sun once more. The ball of fire was sinking quickly, and for some reason Damien's gut was telling him he wanted it to freeze where it was.

Jason continued fuming as he walked into the parking lot in front of the school. "Why did everyone else get a tool? Why not me!? Goddamn spirit world bullshit. I'm sure that they did this on purpose." He grumbled. He looked down at his bandaged arm and saw that the glowing had returned to his scar underneath the bandage.

Huh?! Hmm....how long has it been since I formed it this morning? It took us about an hour or two to get to the arcade, about an hour playing the arcade games, and one or two hours more to get back here. I guess the recharge time on my power is about five or six hours

Jason sat down on the steps in front of the school and decided to wait for his fellow spirit detectives whom he had left behind.

====================================================

Tanke had left the water emporium about half an hour ago and was now approaching the front doors of the school. He saw a student hanging out on the front steps. "Huh, maybe he'll know where miss Bleu is..." He walked over to the boy and stood intimidatingly before him. "Hey kid, mind if I ask you something?"

Jason looked up and saw a an extremely buff man wearing a wife-beater (Tanktop) and sweatpants standing in front of him. Quite startled by this man's appearance, Jason stammered in his reply. "Uh, s-sure sir, w-whaddaya need?"

"I'm looking for a girl named Bleu, do you know where she is? I was told by her grandpa to pick her up today." Tanke asked him politely.

Jason's mind lit up at the mention of the word "Bleu" and he sprang up from the steps and backpedaled a good ten feet to put some distance between him and the man. "You're working for Wormhole aren't you!? You're here to take her back to Demon world or whatever that place is called." Jason immediately accused the man.

"Whoa now, I was told that she had guardians or something, but YOU!? You're just a kid! You couldn't possibly do anything to hurt me, even if you had any powers. Just stand aside and i'll forget you ever existed." Tanke scoffed at Jason.

What can I do!? The guys are probably still back at the arcade, and this guy seems different than the other enemies we fought. Something about him just screams 'Powerful.' Gah! What choice do I have!? I have to protect Bleu! She's the only one that can help us find Wormhole's HQ!

"Not a chance! Hraaaaah!" Jason yelled as he unraveled the bandages on his arm, revealing the glowing scar underneath. He focused all of his might into his scar and it erupted with a brilliant red flare. His azure shield formed and covered most of his right arm. He held his shield up in front of him in a defensive position, ready to block whatever this guy could dish out.

"You just blew your chance kid. I tried to take the highroad route, but you were too stupid to take the HINT!" Tanke added emphasis to the last word as he began to focus his energy. Lumps began forming beneath his skin, stretching and growing until his skin could no longer contain it and ripped apart. Underneath the skin was a bumpy layer of what appeared to be silver muscle. On his head were many thin white horns that easily could pass for hair. "My name is Tanke, my friends call me the Iron Knight because of the properties of my body, every part of me is covered in a very strong, very flexible metal that protects me from almost everything. Just to give you a fighting chance, i'll tell you a little secret about my armor. it has only a handful of flaws in it, one being that it behaves a lot like some of your world's metals. There, you have your hint, now DIE!" Tanke roared as he charged at Jason.

He swung his arm back and rocketed a punch straight into the center of Jason's shield. The blow sent him rolling backwards into the brick wall of the building. The shield had taken all of the force of the blow, but the momentum of the punch was enough to send him sprawling.

"Ugh, what...the hell...was that!?" He moaned as he tried to stand up. He looked to his shield and saw that there was a small series of scratches where the two metals collided but other than that, the shield was in perfect condition.

"I'm impressed, your puny shield is a lot stronger than I thought. However, Don't think it will save you when you fail to guard! Hraaaaah!" Tanke charged at Jason again, however, this time Jason dove out of the way of the blow and rolled behind him. Tanke kept going and impacted the brick wall of the school. causing the whole building to vibrate. The blow left a crater in the wall due to how much force was behind it.

Some of the students felt the blow and moved to the windows to see what was happening. Seeing a man made of metal and a classmate equipped with a strange shield was a good enough excuse to stop class and watch what was happening. Bleu being one of them. "Jason!!!" SHe cried as she hobbled as fast as she could out of the classroom and down the hallway.

Even Botan felt it from the gang's classroom and peeked out the window. "Oh my! I better go find the others, they probably don't know whats happening now!" She opened the window and flew out on her oar to find the others in her spirit form so no one else saw her flying.

Jason saw this and breathed a sigh of relief, he only had to stall him long enough for Botan to bring in the cavalry. "Alright, come at me bro, I have a strong feeling that I know how this fight is going to turn out!" Jason taunted the demon as he stood, ready to block or dodge the next blow...

======================================================

Botan shot through the skies above Danmour, frantically searching for the other spirit detectives when she spotted them about a mile away from the school. She shot downwards and stopped right in front of the group. "Hey! Jason is under attack at the school!!! Hurry! I don't know how long Jason can fight off this enemy, he's unlike any demon i've seen before. GO! Before he kills Jason!

Alright, this is the first important fight of the RP. This guy can really do some damage to your characters. so be careful about what you do when fighting him. Think carefully about the hint that Tanke gave Jason, and i'm sure you'll find a way to use that knowledge to defeat him. Good Luck, and have fun!

Damien cursed. "Goddammit, I knew sumthin' was wrong! Hurry!" Damien planted his foot, took a single dropstep, and began to sprint like hell back towards the school. Fast as he was from baseball, it would still take him a minimum of 5 minutes to get there. He saw everyone start running to keep up and began to pedal backwards madly as he looked for Botan. "Botan! Gimme a 'lil help 'ere! Who's Jason fightin', how strong's the guy, and what seems odd 'bout 'im or what makes 'im powerful? I need a 'lil info 'ere!" Damien turned back around and began to run for all he was worth. "Dammit Jason, ya better not die! If ya do, so 'elp me, I'm gonna walk on down t' Koenma 'n resurrect yer punk ass just do I can kill ya myself! Dammit! I should've gone after 'im!"

Botan matched pace with Damien and explained just what she saw. "He was extremely muscular, and had shiny silver skin. I think his skin is as hard as some sort of metal because he punched a hole in the school wall. Though from what I saw, Jason's shield should hold off his attacks for a little while. He didn't seem to have any other extraordinary qualities other than being built like a tank." Botan explained quickly. "Like I said, I've never seen that sort of demon before, I'm going to send a report back to spirit world and hopefully i'll get some information back. In the mean time, i'm going to find Genkai. Hurry and help Jason!"

Botan shot off towards the city arcade. Unbeknown to her, Genkai was observing Jason's fight from on top of the school roof. She knew that Botan would ask her to help the brats fight, but that was not what Koenma had ressurrected her for. She was supposed to train, not fight. "If she wants me to help them fight a fight that she put them up to in the first place then i got one finger for her to take a good hard look at." Genkai grumbled as she watched Jason and Tanke circle eachother like tigers in a conflict.
