Yahtzee you pedantic bastard. Why the flaming, fulsome fuck are you trying to play a game that was designed for consoles with gamepads on a PC with a mouse?
Do you shave with a lawnmower? Do you cut your toenails with a scythe?
No, if you're not a complete asshead.
Bad reviewer! Bad, bad, naughty critic-man!

I find it very ironic that the Nazi reference was made at the end - almost as if he was pointing to this. Try listening to this embarrassingly bad copycat tosser and compare the video to Yahtzee's. It should serve as an effective test to determine whether you're exactly the kind of brainless dipshit Yahtzee constantly whines about (e. g. Mr. "Absolutely Brilliant Review As Always", etc.) or a person with inclinations of seeking truth and the capabilities of forming a distinct opinion. I'm rather curious as to what ratio this thread will have.

Oh wait.
... dude? Seriously? ... you understand that video is a parody video from the classic Pure Pwnage series... right?

Oh, here I go again, expecting Yahtzee's minions to have any semblance of grey matter.

It should serve as an effective test to determine whether you're exactly the kind of brainless dipshit Yahtzee constantly whines about
I guess you passed that test with flying colours then.

On Topic: I thought your reviews were supposed to present objectivity while providing alternative views and not just bashing a game senseless while ignoring the good points. Sure, it has it's flaws (mostly stemming from poor PC controls and camera positions), but this game is definitely worth a rental at the very least. It's just a shame the drones on this site follow your words as gospel even if they were planning on getting the game beforehand.

I was considering to consider buying this...but then I remembered how much I hated Overlord 1. But Yahtzee's review helped me hate it even more.

Hilarious as always, keep up the good work!

Why can't these "making chaos and evilness" games be more fun? That makes me so sad.
Because when you're SUPPOSED to be evil, it's no fun.

You want a game that lets you be evil, play Prototype.

Sorry dude.

Oh, and the minion sweep is a thumbstick control on a console, where it belongs.
See? another similarity to Pikmin. In Pikmin and Pikmin 2 (I don't know about New Play Control: Pikmin), you control the pikmin using the c stick

Well, Yahtzee, you certainly hold some valid points of critisism there, I personaly had to wipe away a few buckets of foam from my mouth during the maze part you talked about, but I hope you understand that, as a overlord fan, I have brutaly evicerate you now.

I just came home from a D&D session and found a smart D&D remark. Nice, loved it!
I actually like Overlord despite it's linear and crappy movement faults.

The worst fact that you did miss (you lazy ass wanker you) with the game is that, if you've played the previous game you'll see some similarities.
Lets compare the two games with Bioshock and Systemshock;
Overlord 2 isn't LIKE Overlord 1, it IS Overlord 1! Difference is a few more options and functions and maybe the graphics has been upgraded but I honestly can't see the big difference... And whats ever worse is that they've kept some of the previous flaws like the irritating camera or the sloppy movement of both your character and the imps when you press both the L and R mousebuttons... Oh, and many of the sounds are the same.

So basicly I feel a bit ripped off by the game. Only reason why I bought it is was that I've lost the previous game and missed it a bit.

But I feel even more ripped off by the fact that you missed this HUGE flaw. Yahtzee Croshaw, I'm VERY disappointed in you! Go to your room and stay there for a week!

Loved the review, keep it up as allways!
Signed: Your Mum.

i think i actually disagree with this one, i mean, i liked my minions and had favourites but hell, he had a hood and magic staff, the cute lil' thing.

apart from that, i never actually noticed the control lag and the whole swarm thing really doesn't work later in the game because the enemys are overpowered (read: organised)

and good call on the spider maze, that was really stupid

Ah Mr Yahtzee, I see we once again have a case of you WANTING to hate a game. Let me point out your errors.

1. Overlord 2 is a Console title first, PC title second. You got the wrong system.

2. Overlord 2 is meant to be cheesey, linear, and comical. Just like the first one, which was a hit by the way. It's meant to be a satire game, not something you take serious, which you did for some really weird reason.

3. I'm not sure how you found the entire game boring. It's quite fun and humerous. The point of collecting the mistresses is to complete your stereotypical evil entourage. It's not meant to be a serious evil simulator, it's meant to be poking fun at itself.

4. If your minions didn't run over most everything like a steam roller you wouldn't be playing an evil overlord now would you? You'd be playing an evil pansy.

5. The idea behind getting back your minions has nothing at all to do with being attached to them like Mr Molyenx and his nameless hero's, but rather is a response to a complaint about the first game. In the first game, you could equip your goblins with different armor, weapons and items depending on what you raided. However, when they died, that was it. Lost all that hard work making them strong. Now you can raise them, as your minions level, and thus you'd likely want to keep them since it makes the horde stronger. You'd probably have noticed most of this if you hadn't been trying to hate the game.

Basically a lot of this review sounds like bullshit. Plain and simple. If you choose to play a console game on the PC, then expect to deal with porting issues. But the rest of it sounds like complete rubbish. Pull your head out of your arse Yahtzee, and review the game properly.
Uh, I dont think Yahtzee visits these forums, like, ever. Especially because in less than a day look many comments hes racked up. Considering how busy the man is im quite sure he doesnt have time to inspect the nitpickings of his nitpickings of Overlord II.
At the end of the day he's just trying to make money by remaining entertaining, and for you to criticise that like it's going to change anything makes you a fool.

An excellent ;
In fact, as I think back over the years, I believe it's safe to say this was one of my all-time favorites.

This is something I never understand - you were thinking of trying the game out, but because Yahtzee, someone that sensationalizes poor points about a game and generally acts as though he hates everything for comedic effect says its bad, you won't try it...
The worst part is, he's even mentioned several times himself that this is exactly what he does (in the Bioshock review at least), and people still seem to think that in a 5 minute gag-fest he is giving a fair and balanced review.

Thats not too say I don't like ZP, I like it a lot, and because this is more of a comedy series than accurate critiquing, I think its good that he exaggerates the flaws to make it funnier, but for that same reason I take everything he says about any game with a large dose of salt.

Yay D&D reference. Anyway, I find that alot of Yahtzee's reviews don't actually reflect the game, the only game I found his review was honest about was Alone In the Dark which was friggin horrible.

Another good review. Now I know not to get that game, it almost looked interesting but you have confirmed the doubt that made me second guess wether or not it was going to be a good game. It's always nice to see you ripping Fable and Peter Molyneux.

It's pretty sad when any game resembles a game by Peter Molyneux...
Or you could interpret that the other way around:
If he compares it to the Falbe series i pretty much gotta at least rent it now. I loved both Fable games.

I put Fable below the stuff Bethesda makes tho. Perhaps abotu level with Valve.
