Quite a bit actually, Painkiller started that though, especially with the fact that you could nail them to the walls, and also, Painkiller is more than just a spike, it was a nice little crucifix/wooden stake that we all know does horrible things to demons.

Spikes, stakes, who cares as long as their pointy and horrible?
I don't recall them ever being cruciform tho.
Regardless, where else can I find this marvelous beast? You're absolutely right, it's just that all I can remember after the fact is HL2's marginally less awesome nuclear crossbow.

I dont understand why people complain about Doom 3's lack of lighting so much, its a horror shooter, lack of light and vulnerably walking around with a torch unable to shoot straight away gives it that edge over other horror fps's and horror games in general. Gun torch mod FTL

Sooo far into the future, like the year, 3000, and no flashlights on guns? Besides, it loses the horror appeal after the imps pop up EVERY MINUTE.

I haven't been able to view the movie... -.- but I know painkiller, and it's sequel: Overdose sucked, and I probarbly agree on whatever Yahtzee says, because he mosty is right about stuff like that

I just wanted to ask: Has no one else noticed this post? What is so hilariously obvious about it and the edit that follows? Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this, and because if not and everyone else is just ignoring it, I missed the memo.

My friend happened to have a copy of Painkiller, so I'm playing through it now. Yahtzee was right; The combat is incredibly fun. The guns are fantastic (especially the stakegun), the physics are great, and the graphics aren't half bad. The best part is the boss fights though; They're epic.

The only downside is the crappy story. I agree with Yahtzee that it doesn't really need a story to be enjoyable, but it does need one to be memorable. A better story probably would have taken this game out of the bargain bin and given it a sequal.

Bought it after watching this, bloody awesome. Plot can definitely fuck right off, though, and so can Overdose.

Painkiller Overdose was like, a user mod that was just very well done so it was put on digital distribution stores and a few copies were sent to places like gamestop - but it still wasn't as good as the first painkiller, but if Yahtzee ever reviews that, then you'll know why, and laugh at the same time.


Also I think it's funny that no one was offended by "Evil Dead for those of you who are American, and fat!"
