Woah wait- just when did Yahtzee play IL2- Birds of Prey? Where's that review eh?

But yeah, I was hoping he'd do the Saboteur. Like someone else said, it was odd he never mentioned the boobs in it...

Oh they're always after me Lucky Charms!

Decent review this time around, though I never had any interest in getting this game anyway. Though I do wonder why Yahtzee didn't touch on the ridiculious news about the free boobs DLC. Sounds like something he'd enjoy mocking.

If only the Boobs DLC also gave the cabaret girls triple cunts.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and what you said about the Irish is completely true and humorous.
Er, excuse me, but if you weren't being sarcastic there, I'm going to have to make you extremely uncomfortable, using a golf club, a microwave, and art supplies. And a gun, I guess.

I feel like I'm one of the few that knew it would suck long before it hit the shelves. A world war II game that thinks it can be original? Good review by the way.

As an Irish person currently living in England, I have to say this was one of the funniest reviews I have seen. I'm really surprised at this thread.

Y'know why? I can take a fucking joke.
Amen.
Although, as an idiot who completely fouled up the rest of his comment once said, there's nothing really funny about calling the Irish stupid. I mean you could say that every American is fat and eats too much "imitation cheese" or whatever, that would still be funnier than saying someone is stupid. Now say that we're all alcoholics and stuff, that's the old stereotype, that's fine, but he can't seem to get away from the one theme of "All Irish are fucking stupid idiots who are stupid because they're idiots because they're stupid because LOLOLOLOLOL."
I really enjoy Croshaw's work though, when he's not making some of his more pathetic insults.

Just wondering, does he have problem with the Irish, because it seems to be a recurring theme with him. Still a good review though.

Funny how you mentioned "Offensive," yet proceed to call him a "fucking english ****."

Just thought that was quite humorous.

OT: This was an improvement from last week's Demon's Souls review, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one quite a bit.

I think those who are getting a little offended by the Irish comments need to grow some thicker skin, and/or acknowledge who it's coming from.

Can't take a joke? Stay out of the comedy club. Simple as that.
Bother your Arse to try and read some of the Posts in reply to that AFTER the first page, and you'll see it isn't QUITE as simple as that.
Yes, actually, it really is.

He gets offended because he felt he was being made fun of, being Irish.
He chooses to make fun of Yahtzee, and calls him an "English ****."

Hypocrisy ensues.

I don't care if his reasons for being offended were because the Irish were discriminated against by the English, or whatever other excuse there is.
You get offended? Don't go call somebody a name and potentially offend them.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
You didn't even bother your arse to read THAT post properly. What part of 'AFTER the first page' didn't you understand? I couldn't care less about whether megametawolf is offended or not. My point to you was that there are several reasons posted why Yahtzee's cliche'd jokes are innappropriate and You not caring still doesn't make this form of humour less offensive or more acceptable.

Also you're condemning racism on one hand, and yet defending racist humour on the other... you might want to give yourself a belt with that Hypocrisy stick you are waving at everyone.
Just thought I'd join this debate in hazyshadows' defence by saying
A)It's not that he didn't agree it was offensive, he just thought it was hypocritic to respond with an equally offensive post
B) There is a big difference between kidding and being serious, so there is nothing hypocritic about condemning racism but not condemning race humour.
Race humour changes depending on who tells the joke. If Yahtzee was a German telling Jew jokes or a Texan telling black jokes then people would be Queueing up to condemn him. What he is however is an Englishman telling Irish Jokes, which is on a par with the previous contexts i've just described. Any other nationality attacking us i just put down to genuine non malicious well intentioned or not ignorance, however because Yahtzee is English he knows better than that, and he knows the weight of his words. Thats why i have a problem with it, the same way a jew or a blackman would have a problem with a german or a texan respectively telling racist jokes about them.

A) im not here to hold your hand. If you can't bother your arse to read the entirety of the entire Topic, then don't get butt hurt when i berrate you for making idiotic sweeping statements that ignore several points already raised within the debate that addressed it. You want to argue seriously within a thread topic, then get off your arse and read it.

B) You said we were using our history as an 'excuse' to be upset at yahtzee. This is why i am making it personal with you. You have no idea as to the enormity of what was done to us, and you said quite blunty that you didn't care either. Hence me showing you the contempt i quite frankly think you deserve.

C) "Y'know why? I can take a fucking joke. " See how well a jew deals with a holocaust joke, or perhaps how well an african american deals with a black joke, Maybe i should start a 9/11 joke thread and see how well you deal with that. Asshole.

I could go crying foul about 9/11, get upset, or whatever you wish, but let's face facts: It's behind us. No use holding a grudge over a certain ethnic group that wronged another. Everyone was wronged at some point or another, but that's in the past. Am I a bit saddened that I lost a loved one in 9/11? Yeah, kind of. Still, I don't hate everyone from the Middle East because that is where Al Qaeda arose from. Remember them in your hearts, but don't fuel the hatred further.

If you made a thread like you mentioned, would I be offended? Yeah, probably. But I certainly wouldn't go calling you a rude, derogatory term because of it, in an attempt to offend you. (Which, if you'll note, was my original point in my first response.)
Even if you did mean it completely, that solves nothing.

The same goes (loosely) for what the British did to the Irish.

I'm sorry if you lost someone because of that hatered. Even if you didn't, I'm sorry that it affected you on such a personal level.

It's like you said "Race humor changes depending on who tells the joke."
So, naturally, one group will always be offended by another joking around. That's completely understandable, and I can see where you're coming from in that regard. Naturally, an Irish person would be offended by that kind of humor, especially when determining the source.

But we need to learn to laugh, so that we don't cry. Attrocities were commited, people died, but bickering over it will do no good.
[sub]And before anyone asks, no, I'm not saying "Laugh at their downfall." I'm saying that we should cut ties, and move along.[/sub]

Sorry to have offended you. Just so you know, I do see where you're coming from, despite whether you would like to believe it or not.
Offending others in a retaliation to us being offended solves nothing. Everyone has faced discrimination at one point or another, and fueling the fire, especially after it's long past, does nothing to help cut ties. It's fine if the issue is meaningful to you, more power to you. But hatred fuels more hatred. Even if the joke was intended to be comedic, yet came off as a bit offensive, please, let's just take it with a grain of salt.
Oh, and I didn't mean "I don't care" as "I don't care about what happened to you, not at all.
I meant that I didn't care he was using it as an excuse to flame Yahtzee.

My bad for the poor wording.

Personally, I enjoyed it more than Assassins Creed. I actually prefer the climbimg here, because you're actually able to see WHERE Sean will jump to next as opposed to taking a 'leap of faith' every other second when running up a walk like in AS.

I was expecting Shattered Memories too but whatever. Won't be touching this game in a hurry.
There's just a small problem with Shattered Memories, it's only released in USA so far, and as he points out pretty often - He's not American. He has to wait for the Australian release to play Silent Hill.

On topic. I've played this game on my PC using an Xbox 360 controller, and my god how terrible that was! They had done such an awful job making the Xbox 360 controller work with the PC version of the game that I could barely play at all. The drive key also adjusted the camera angle to the right so whenever I was driving the camera was spinning around in a joyful merry go round of go screw yourself! Also the darkness was annoying, the buildings just popped out from nowhere. I was looking forward to play this game, but this was actually pretty bad by my opinion.

Better than he said.

It's not that dark, because apparently Yahtzee forget the BRIGHTNESS SLIDER.

And stealth is always an option, as I've been using it straight through so far, rarely getting forced alarms.

You can't "hide" in shadows, though, as the only stealth is really Line Of Sight, but there is always a ton of stuff to hide behind before you shoot the enemy in the head with a silence pistol.

Good game. Not even too buggy. For a Pandemic game.

I'm Irish (as in, born in Dublin, lived here all my life, not the 'claiming' to be somewhat Irish done by approximately 100% of other Western people), and I don't find this offensive. He's a brilliant humourist and I can't well enough find the jokes about other races hilarious and get offended at this. Although the English are a pack of unbelievable wankers. That's just scientific fact.

Loved this review. I especially loved the imps at the end, they are always good to see at the end of another brilliant review.
