I take Yahtzee's reviews for their comedic value more than anything. But he does make some good valid points at times.
Howeever, with U2 I think he was very harsh. It's obviously a quality made game that's alot of fun with tight controls and amazing visuals. And I found the cover system to work very well, epsecially compared to other games. Plus the effort they put into the cut scenes was outstanding.
Its funny because I would think that Yahtzee would sort of welcome U2 for doing what Indiana Jones 4 failed to do. A Proper old school treasure hunting action story with no f****** aliens!

I bought Uncharted 2 on tuesday this week, and I have to say I like it. I don't find Mr. Drake that annoying, and it still is a pretty damn good game. it won't change the world of gaming, but it's solid. sorry for the most un-funny comment yet.
Darn you Yahtzee! Does no character appeal to you!? Maybe a cynical Australian that beats the shit out of Drake would be a character you can relate to in Uncharted 3. Great review as always! And to the xbots or idiots using this as proof for criticizing Uncharted 2, are you kidding me? Yahtzee crucifying Halo 3 and ignoring ODST didn't factor into your purchase of them now did they? It shouldn't because it's all for the sake of the comedy. If we went by this logic, the only games we should own are Bioshock, Half-Life 2, Silent Hill 2, and Thief.
Well, Uncharted 2s my GOTY anyway. I can't believe there's people taking Yahtzee's word as fact and not buying it because he hated it.

And best of all, they're not all shooters made for ADD kids. Huzza!

Yeah, I liked Drake too. I'm not sure what Yahtzee's ideal is for the perfect protagonist. If he values realism as the most important factor, then the whole game would be Drake panicking and going into a fetal position from all the gun fights. I don't see that as a fun game but it would be a realistic reaction a normal guy would have. I know he was slamming Drake it for the sake of humor but I would like to know what he thinks would be a good character.

I think he's just lost it, he's trying to be funny but fails... it's a game for entertainment, when did Games have to be 60 hours long for replayabiliy (even RPGs i don't ever play again, Dragon Age i couldn't even manage 2 of the origin stories before falling asleep).
He moans about Sandboxed games, he bitches about MMO's, and then he complains about cinema games. The man should not be a gamer, he doesn't enjoy very much...

So he doesn't like his hand held, he doesn't like not having his hand held and he doesn't like Help pop ups after a time when he's stuck.
There is no pleasing this moron, i've been a huge fan and watched every single one of his reviews but... nah he's lost it, he's not funny... the fact his voice is fast is no longer that amusing.
And he isn't british no matter how many times he tries to hump the british flag during his reviews from doctor who and bbc references in this one to many others. Seriously check back, he's so much in love with britain, he should just make love to the queen and be done with it.
4/10 for this review.
I enjoyed Unchartered 2, especially the marco polo bit among others, and the fact you had decent multiplayer, unlockable stuff which was nice and got extra "bonus" cash to spend if you had completed the first game.

cool, so exactly the same as the first one then. I found the first one incredibly addictive and it was definitely worth ordering people to get it for me for Christmas.

Also Uncharted 2 is incredibly awesome, I would have agreed about game of the year, but dragon age dethroned it, but it is still an excellent buy.
And yeh, if you refuse to buy every single game yahtzee does not like, you probly have about 3 games.. 3 very good games, but still only 3...

Also, I think Dragon Age smells much more of moisture than does UC2, which I thought was an actually amazing experience. I had high expectations on DA and played 3 hours of it, restarting the game with a new character background, and I found it as bad in gameplay and story, as Baldur's Gate or Morrowind were good or exciting to play. Regarding Uncharted 2, I could drop the controller from the moment I started to play it until I finished it and enjoyed sopme online games. I almost lost my wife in the process. Am I the only one?

)Though uncharted may not be nothing new, that doesn't mean its fine game. ITs actually hard to do sometihng new these days and its always been rare since the early years of the last generation.
Hell, even popular series like God of war didn't have entirely original gameplay. GOW was influenced by Devil may cry. Even gameplay wise, half life 2 wasn't all that original except the gravity gun.

The Yahtzee cheerleaders who think they can use a ZP review as a serious barometer of a game's content and popularity make me pity the future of the human race. Its like the rest of the internet doesn't even exist for them.
I hear the argument that some sad folks who would normally take ZP oh-so-seriously will try blow off Ben's opinion of a game because they like said game, but the same holds true the other way round; If Ben has a few issues with a game they don't particularly like, they hail him as the second coming: OMGZ HE SPEEKEF TEH TROOF, DIS GAIM SUX0RS!!1!! It's sad to see this fanatical BS.
This is what Ben does put into another context, so maybe those with difficulties can understand (excuse the sexist quote paraphrased from a stand-up comedian, but I couldn't think of anything better off-the-cuff that shows what Ben does.)

For the record, I thought Uncharted was alright: Very pretty set-pieces, enjoyable characters, but not the most amazing gameplay - (gameplay slightly better than Gears.)
I came in here because I saw some folks saying that they would not buy a game on the strength of a ZP review. A ZP 'review'... really?
