Lying on the floor, Veronica felt cold and uncomfortable but somehow safe in all the madness. Only moments passed before she slept heavily, eventually opening the gate to a flood of things she'd seen and done since all of this began, things she managed to keep locked away for the most part while awake.
<spoiler=Dream>Just to make it clear, this is a dream.
That first day of she came into contact with all of this came back to haunt her in her dreams: A bit late for work, she hurried up the street, still cursing the person who'd stolen her bike the other day. What is the world coming to? Janice, her boss, was usually pretty forgiving since they knew eachother very well by now. They even went so far as to call eachother friends, even though they'd only gotten together once outside of work.
Nikki slowed her pace, making sure everything was in its proper place and taking time to catch her breath. The salon was all about image and she definitely wouldn't be the one to ruin it, of that she was certain. Moira, though. Nearing the salon named Shear Vanity, a name which always made her smile with its honesty and silliness, she noticed it was unusually quiet. Shear Vanity was one of the most popular hair salons around here and normally it'd have up beat music and people chatting away like their lives depended on it. The salon was almost completely silent and the sounds she heard didn't make sense.
A shriek in the distance made her stop in her tracks. Something's wrong. Veronica kept going, but with a disturbing feeling in the back of her mind. As she finally saw into the salon, it was a mess. Normally it was kept bright and shining with modern design choices and an appeal that would be almost impossible to match. Now it looked like a dump. Literally. Chairs toppled, products strewn across the floor, some still leaking, forming large stains. Wait... It looked like blood.
She flew back in shock, bumping into a car outside of the store. The trunk of it was open, she noticed. Nikki went to look in the trunk but to her horror, it too had what seemed like blood on it. Is this a joke? She'd seen shows where the most absurd situations were put together, only so they could jump out and yell "You've been flippl'd!" or "You're on Kinky Kamera!" She leaned in and took in the smell... It had to be blood.
A noise from the salon made her scream. Veronica was sure she saw something or someone moving. "Hey, who's there?!" She squinted her eyes. It was moving behind the pile of chairs, she wasn't sure... "Janice?!" The thing picked up its pace. "Janice, is that you?! What happened here?!" It came out from behind the chairs. It was Janice, but she looked like she was hurt.
Nikki rushed over, praying that it was all a prank. As she came closer to Janice, Janice dove for Nikki. Nikki caught her, assuming she'd fallen out of exhaustion, but... something was very wrong. When Veronica saw those eyes looking back at her, a chill shot through her spine. Janice let out a shriek and started flailing wildly, trying to bite her. Everything was wrong, she didn't know what to do so she just threw her aside out of fear.
As Janice kept moving towards her, Nikki backed off. Soon she bumped into the car. "Janice, stop! What's happened?!" She realized she'd seen a golf bag in the trunk and rushed to get a club. She took one of the smaller ones, the only one she managed to get out and started swinging wildly, trying to stop Janice. "Don't make me do this! What is wrong with you?!"
Janice shrieked again and jumped right into the whirlwind of golf swings, catching it right across the head. It went into her ear, making Nikki scream in remorse. "No! Janice?!" As Janice fell over, Veronica saw the sickening sight and after only a moment she threw up, the mix of fear, regret and disgust too much for her.
Janice started getting up again, but soon fell over again, never to move again. Veronica saw more people moving down the street who looked just like Janice did and Nikki rushed into the back room of the salon, locking the door behind her, shivering in fear. This was to be her new home, unbeknownst to her.
<spoiler=End of dream>The dream has ended!
