Zombie Apocalypse Squad (Cancelled !)

"I'm not planning to lose my family, Sparrow." Samuel said. "Mary and Kate are my life. Did I ever tell you I have a daughter? She's two now..." He shook his head.

"I'll try to look after your family. But I won't leave my own."

Samuel looked ahead. Zapp seemed to be in some kind of fight. He had a fur, and looked slightly wolfish. The APC trundled behind him.

"There, now we can close you up." Samuel said.

 

[Sparrow]

Sparrow smiled.

"Sure, Sam. Close me up."

He said it himself. Samuel's optimism was the only thing that made him human. He wasn't taking that away from him.

"Chase."

Sparrow coughed.

"Chase."

 

[ZapperX]

Two left.

Zapper jumped on the closer one, stabbing a sai into each arm, then pulling them apart, ripping off the zombie's arms. He then dropped them both, and drove his claws into the monster's forehead. He grimaced and grabbed the other one by what was left of his hair, forced the other hand's claws into its chest, and yanked up. The zombie's head came clean off.

He holwed.

Then he saw Sparrow.

And he screamed.

 

[SamuelT]

"Chase? Who the hell is Chase?" Samuel asked him. Zapp was ending his spree with a flourish of his little knife. He waved to get the attention of them both. Zapp looked with great eyes at Sparrow's mangled form..

 

[Sparrow]

"My name. You don't think I'm really called Sparrow, do you? It's just a nickname..."

Sparrow patted Samuel on the shoulder.

"You've been a good friend, Sam. After all, not even my brother knows my name. Tell him, will you?"

Sparrow's arms went numb, as did his legs. His body was cutting off the blood flow to other areas to keep his heart pumping.

"No, no, no! Sam, get him in the APC! What happened? Where's your family?"

Zapper motioned for Chris to stop. He hopped in, and hoped one of them could stitch Sparrows body up.

 

[SamuelT]

Sparrow's breathing was getting labored. Samuel let a tear slide down his nose. Chase...No, Sparrow was almost his brother. This was like Doc all over again.

He started to walk towards the APC and put Sparrow on the floor inside the vehicle. They couldn't do anything anymore for him. Robin woke and saw Sparrow on the floor. He looked shocked..

Samuel sat on the ground, watching over Sparrow. His emotions had left him. He was an empty shell.

 

[ZapperX]

"No, dammit! You can't die! You're my creation! Werewolves! Don't! Die!"

He fumbled through the med supplies, trying to find something to help him. Robin nudged Zappers leg, and shook his head.

Zapper fell to his knees and cried.

 

[Sparrow]

Sparrow smiled, as his vision blurred. His friends we're around him. Good. Robin nuzzled against him, whining.

"It's okay Robin. It doesn't hurt."

Robin licked his hand, and Samuel, Chris and Zapp looked over what was left of his body. Sam kept a brave face, as he'd come to expect of him.

"Look after Robin, Samuel. And Robin, you look after Samuel."

His organs seperately shut down, but he could feel no pain. It just felt awkward. And cold.

"Theres a ship. A carrier. At the docks, near my house. It's your ticket out of here."

Sparrow frowned.

"Tell my family it was quick, ok?"

Sparrow shut his eyes, as his body grew colder, and he could no longer feel anything. His pulse went. Then his heart, as it slowly stopped beating.

Samuel could hear the last breath of Sparrow exit his lungs. It was the sign, the absolute sign that he was dead. Zapp was still raging about that he couldn't die. Chris was silent. Samuel sat for a moment. Robin let out a howl of sadness before searching comfort with Samuel. He stared at the face of Sparrow and petted him on the head. He reached forward and shut his eyes.

"I'm going to tear him apart..." Samuel whispered. Sadness made place for anger. White hot fury seeped into him. He got up and started to walk to his house again. Images of Greg's head on a pole, Greg begging for mercy, Greg being mauled and beaten until there was nothing left of him.

Greg was going to pay

Zapper looked down at Sparrow's body. He heard Sparrow's last breath. He still couldn't believe it.

"Come back to life, you bastard! You're fucking invincible! I made your whole species! Only silver can kill you!!"

He placed his head on Sparrow's, and yelled through tears.

"come back to life! ... Please... Don't leave us...

*Andy was beginning to relax in Sparrow's house - the first place she'd been able to other than the APC and the Warship. Well, the plane was gone now, and it appeared Chris and the others had gone off for a jaunt in the APC, which left Sparrow's house as the next safest place known to her. Everything had slowed down since they landed here, and Andy had used that time to recuperate. Showering had just been the beginning; Her clothes had been cleaned, and she'd made some attempt to perform maintenance on her rifle, keeping her occupied for most of the time so far.

At her request, Mrs. Sparrow had found her a shoulder-bag/satchel type thing which Andy had then emptied her pockets into. This, she hoped, would solve all her ammo problems. A good thing too - the group was too large and this house too vulnerable for them to stay here; they'd be moving on soon. Andy wanted to be ready. This time, she would help. She would not be a burden on anyone*

"... ... ..."

*Nor would she be "saved" by anyone ever again*

Samuel tore away the door, flinging it over the houses. He entered first, Chris trailing behind him. They both knew that there was need for revenge.

Samuel looked inside the house. The death of Sparrow had taken nearly a half an hour, and the hallway still looked the same. The only thing different was a man sitting at the bottom of the stairs. He was poining a gun at them, terrified.

"Chris, take his weapon." Samuel said. He could use the human speech right now...strange..

Chris looked from behind Samuel, and the person on the stairs fired at him. Samuel caught the bullet on his shoulder and walked forwards. He grabbed the gun out of the persons hands and folded it so it could no longer be used.

"Jerr, move aside will you?" Samuel asked.

Zapper was now in a corner of the APC. He couldn't talk, he couldn't even move. He had fallen into a state of utter depression. Robin walked over to him and nudged his arm. Zapper couldn't even move his eyes.

He heard the scream of the old man.

He jumped up and ran towards the house.

 

[ZapperX]

Zapper couldn't believe what he saw. He peered in the door to see the bloody mess of a man that his allies had made. He saw Sam claw his chest, leaving deep, painful gashes. He raised his hand again.

Zapper shut the door.

He vomited on the sidewalk.
