"Ah, I see," Jacobs said as he watched her look at the guns. He was silent for a few more seconds before saying, "I actually know him. Not very well, obviously but I knew him. We went to the same high school and had mutual friends. It's kinda odd to see someone again after so many years and for them to be your enemy...it's odd."

"Sounds good," Adries said, jumping into the back seat with Albert hopping into the cargo area.
"Let's get going then. Uncle Al will tell you where to go."
"Follow the only road out of here first," he said with a chuckle.

A few more moments of silence passed before Christie could find the words again, she actually felt some form of empathy for the guy.
"Private. In situations like this, especially for people in our line of work. You'll find that people who you once knew are now different, mostly against us. I'm in exactly the same kind as boat as you. So take it from me. Deal with you, yourself and those who can help you. In the end, the moment you let your guard down for the past, things slip."

Lisa climbed into the back with Al, looking over his shoulder at the tracker.
"I guess you can't object to this now."

((Heh, cronies is such a funny word...))

Jacobs smiled, "Thanks ma'am. I'll keep it in mind. If you have everything I'll show you to the General's office. I'm sure General Kaufman would like to meet you."

Alan threw a rock across the small room with it finally breaking after a few throws. "Great, now what am I to do?" he asked himself as a few people walked up to his cell.
"Well boy. I can think of something fun to do," one of them said, cracking his knuckles as they opened the cell door.
Alan mentally cursed at himself before mentally preparing for what was going to happen next...

"Nope," Albert said looking at the tracker and trying to figure out where they'd be heading, "The closest base is pretty far away. Hopefully we can keep up."

Ivan pulled out, and started to drive. After about 15 minutes of driving, he finally hit the highway. "alright, where to now?" He couldn't help himself, he rammed a zombie going on 50. It cleared the truck, landing 5 feet behind it.

"Affirmative Private. This should hold me up for a while," She agreed, gesturing to her M4 carbine and new knife, which only just fit in her holster.
"Let's meet the General shall we?"

Lisa had gone quiet as she studied the tracker, She couldn't read it well, so she didn't answer Ivan.
Just drive fast...
She curled up slightly in the back, making herself more comfortable among the many guns.

"Um, I think you should head right. Yeah, that's the way. Seem to be heading over to the...crpa what's it called? Well this one base over near the state border I guess," Albert said, looking at the tracker and the signs on the highway.

"Sounds good," Jacobs said as they made their way to the office. The building itself was large and white, and as they entered they realized why it was located in the big building. People were running around, heading into offices and talking on phones. This was the headquarters of it all, and it certainly showed it. They walked past a few people before going into a room at the end of the hall.
There was a line leading to a door marked 'General' and Conroy waved them over to his spot. "Glad to see you made it. We'll probably only have to wait a few minutes, most these people only need to talk to him for a moment," he said.

Ivan floored it, taking the turn perfectly into a drift. He slammed into a zombie and continued. "Oh, how i love driving in the zombie apocalypse." Ivan joked. "No one cares if you speed, and you are actually praised if you hit a person. God, it's gonna be hard to aclimate to normal life after this. This is the life."

Christie put the carbine on her back, as she had done with her previous rifle and folded her arms.
"I guess that's good. I'm not a very patient person I'm afraid." She stated before taking her place with Jacobs and Conroy. She looked around the busy headquarters. Even at the early hours of the morning, the buzz of work was loud.
This is so different from what i imagined from my superiors. But think these are my kind of people.

"So how long do you think until we're there?" She asked him, looking over into the front seat to see the road.

"A few hours," Albert replied, "If they are indeed heading to that base. If not, it might take slightly longer. Who knows?"

After around ten minutes of waiting they were finally allowed inside. The room was brightly lit which contrasted with the dark carpet and walls. Inside there was a woman, seemingly the general's secretary, and the general himself, sitting behind the desk.
He ushered them in, finishing signing a few papers before looking up that them. He was an older man with short, greying hair and beard, and bi-focal glasses.
"Well, Captain what is it you'd like to report?" he asked, folding his arms and looking at them intensely.
"Sir, we are reporting on the mission we were sent on," Conroy replied, about to speak before General Kaufman raised his hand to halt him.
"Just tell me the new stuff. I clearly remember the last few updates you have given me," Kaufman said with a hint of anger and disappointment in his voice.
"Yes sir. We have captured a young man named Alan Bixler, one of the targets on the list with the help of Lieutenant Colonel Bailey here," he said, gesturing to Christie.
"I see. I'm happy to hear that we have captured him and brought in a new member," he replied back.

Christie gave a salute to the general.
"Sir. Christina Bailey, Lieutenant Colonel. A pleasure to meet you. I apprehended Alan Bixler and your men helped transport him here. It would be an honor to join this faction." She addressed the man behind the desk, her eyes looking around the office, but going back to meet the general's eyes from behind his glasses.

"Who knows...too true. Well put the pedal to the metal Ivan. It's not that fun back here." Lisa muttered.

"And it is nice to have you with us Bailey," Kaufman replied with a smile. He seemed to be a smart and calm man, "Well this is a nice development. We now have a new member who I can trust to do some missions I might have and we have Mr. Bixler in the prison where he wil-"
"Uh, sir," Jacobs spoke up, "Mr. Bixler is currently in the holding cells."
Conroy looked shocked at Jacobs saying this, glaring at him before looking at the General. Kaufman looked at them all, waiting for an explanation. When he didn't get one he stood up, "I expected better of my men than this."

"Just as long as we don't crash I'll be fine. No seat belts back here," Albert said, directing Ivan to continue down the highway for a few more miles.

"In their defense, Sir. I do believe they did object to the movement of Bixler to the holding cells in favor for the prison. Major Briggs, If i remember correctly, sent him to the holding cells. No disrespect intended." Christie explained firmly, gesturing to the men beside her.

Lisa shuddered at the Idea of crashing,
Considering our luck, why wouldn't I be surprised if that happened to us?
She held onto some form of weapon in the back when they went over a speed bump. She still hit her leg against something.
Great. Ow.

"Briggs should know better than to allow this," Kaufman said, starting to get annoyed at his men. He walked over to his secretary, telling her he'd be back. He ushered them to follow him as he walked out.
"I don't enjoy watching or even knowing that others suffer, and when someone important to the plan is being hurt I really don't like it," he said as he exited the building, "And I especially don't like the fact that the majority of the soldiers here cannot keep their anger from veiling the importance of him being alive! If he dies then we'll lose not just the supplier of the virus but also the only one who could create a cure or an anti-virus!"

"An Anti-Virus, sir? You think that it's possible? I know about the situation with the creation but they could be possible for the end of this as well?" She asked, with genuine intrigue about what the man had planned. He knew what he was doing, it was obvious as she walked with him and the two other personnel back to where they'd started.

"I believe it is Bailey. Whenever we get the notes we'll find out for sure, but we'll need Alan," Kaufman said as he walked into Holding area. There was yelling going on and a crowd around Alan's cell. Major Briggs turned around and noticed Kaufman, immediately telling everyone to stop and looking down in shame.
Kaufman walked over, telling a few of the men to put their pants back on as he walked by. He looked at the beaten and bruised Alan, before barking: "Jacobs, Bailey! Would you please take Mr. Bixler here over to the infirmary while I tell these men off for doing things not allowed in my base?"

Jacobs nodded, going over to Alan and picking him up looking at Christie for help.

Christie gave a nod before darting over to follow orders. She entered but couldn't help feeling herself cringe away at the situation he was left in. She grabbed his other arm and putting it around her shoulder for support.
"Ugh. Where's the infirmary?" She muttered to Jacobs, not expecting him to slump so much.
Even I think it's better to get him out of here. Now. Violence I can handle, but...

"It's just next to the armory," Jacobs said, taking some of the weight off of Christie. They walked over to the small blue building, getting a few weird looks from some of the soldiers passing by.

When they entered the building a blast of cold air hit them, causing Jacobs to jump and look at the air conditioning system above. He muttered a sorry at his jumpiness as they led Alan to a bed. Westin walked over to them, "Well, this won't be fun. I'll go get the doctor." He then went around the corner.
"Westin's mom is the best doctor here," Jacobs said to Christie, looking around the really clean, white room.

Christie could already see some of his injuries on first glance. Notably, his once treated legs that had started to bleed heavily.
"His Mother is also a medic here?" She asked with some surprise, leaning against the counter near the bed.
Her eyes moving from looking over Alan, the room and back to Jacobs. The smell was familiar, sterilized with cleaning supplies.

"Yes indeed. She's very nice and is always there to talk to also," Jacobs said as Westin came in with his mother. She was a small, red-haired woman who quickly looked over Alan after saying hello.
"Oh, poor dearie. Harold, hun, we you bring me my tools?" she asked as Westin went out the room. She turned to Christie and Jacobs, "Thank you for bringing him here. Knowing Kaufman's view on things like this I might have to work overtime tonight. Oh, Cameron dear I made some dessert for dinner tonight if you'd like to have some before everyone. They're in my office."

"Thanks ma'am," Jacobs said walking out with Christie and heading to Dr. Mrs. Westin's office. "Nice lady, right?"
