Jack laughed at that.

"Yes like assaulting a military base and killing a general, I sat back for all of that.No Christie, I just don't do the spying. There is no point in me risking failure when I know there is a much better force at my disposal. Like not sending in a sailor to do a marine's job, it just isn't their specialty. I plan and lead my forces in said plan, usually in the front of the army. I lead them into battle and fight alongside them, like my assault at the train yard. That is my place, real time leadership and fighting, not spying." Jack said in a joking tone.

"Exactly my point. Not saying you don't work. I meant that wasn't your line of work anyway, It was foolish of me to think of you sneaking around like that. You aren't a ninja. What did you call it...? Real time leadership and fighting," Christie noted, "Everyone has their place."

"Yes, they do. Though I would have phrased it as everyone has a role to play to make it sound less like a caste system, but yes. Mine is as the generals of old, to march into battle with their armies and lead them to hell and back. I'm hoping any human settlements will find the role of bystanders quite enticing. I'm hoping they have a price, namely food, water, and land so I won't have to fight an unnecessary battle." Jack replied.

Meanwhile...

JD practically jumped with joy when he heard the news.

"Yes! And the Plot Advances! Hoo-bloody-ray!" JD said excited.

"Once again, Jacobs saves the day! Good work private!" He said, heartily patting the soldier on his back.

"Alright then, you heard the man! We travel north! But we should cover our tracks, just in case Mr. Fletcher comes this way." JD added, looking for a broom of some sort.

"Sounds like a solid plan," Albert said as they climbed into the SUV. "Hmm, we might have to walk a bit over there. Your tank is almost empty," he said, pointing to the gauge, "If only that town we were in hadn't have been looted of everything, we could have gotten more gas..."

"This seems like a real option. Or, even if we do have to leave at some point this place seems like it could be a rest stop before we continue on," Adries said, leaning back in her chair; finally being able to relax for the first time in quite awhile.

((Sorry my posts take awhile, blame Mass Effect!
Also, don't forget to send me ideas if you have any! Hopefully I'll be finishing up this one pic of a bad guy for the rp! :D))

"It's kinda strange though... we searched the entire town, and we didn't even find a gas station!" JD said looking around

"...But, then again, there are no cars here. I guess they had no real uses for cars. Maybe everything was within reach and a walking distance. Hm. Must've been a pretty fit town." He said, following the crew into the SUV.

"Well." Carver said as he buckled in. "They are either all dead, or far away by now. Best case or worst case scenario...."

JD pondered on what Carver said.

"If anyone from this town is alive, then how far could they have gotten? We're practically in the middle of nowhere...There would have to be another town nearby...possibly...hidden from view..." He thought to himself.

As Carver pulled off, JD thought about this for a majority of the ride.

"Perhaps," Albert said, "Wish we had a map."
"They took the one in the train, kinda sucks. I say we just keep going north!" Jacobs said as he hopped into the SUV and honked the horn a few times.

"Sounds about right. I can't wait until we find a place to call home again. It may be a dream, but I just want to forget everything..." Lisa confessed, feeling incredibly stupid for saying so.

"The more noble of generals then, you mean? As for the food and water, I believe that's a good trade instead of complete destruction." Christie replied.

"If you want to think of it that way, yes. I two think that food and clean water is better than destruction, but you humans are stubborn though. So to the point you will ignore the fact that you follow a mass murderer and creator of humanity's downfall simply because his heart happens to beat and he says he can save you all. Funny that men who kill millions mistakenly thinking they are bettering their country and the world are proclaimed as villains, while one who killed billions for familial fame is lauded as a hero for saving thousands from a pandemic he helped create. He kills more people than the Nazis, the Khmer Rouge, the Maoists, and the Stalinists combined, and he will be held up as a hero and savior of humanity." Jack said as a sneer crept onto his face.

"Going north would really be our only choice, wouldn't it?" JD said to Jacobs.

"Besides, did the pioneers have maps? I don't think so!" He added, with fake enthusiasm.

He just hoped that the next town wouldn't be as depressing and bare as the one they just inhabited.

"Same. A nice place where we aren't in constant danger, that'd be nice," Adries said as she stood up, "Let's head back and give Alan the news. Maybe we can drag him away from work and bring him here."

"My pioneers always died in Oregon Trail," Jacobs muttered sadly as Albert and Dewey hopped in.

"You're preaching to the choir. Like I said, We cling to anyone who can give us a fix to a problem and ease fears. Even better if it's a quick fix like that vaccine he's risked it all for. I'll add that if all the survivors knew that Bixler caused this, he wouldn't be as favoured." Christie voiced, closing her eyes and laying back.

"That'd be the day! Maybe this is one of the few things he'll stop working to see?" Lisa joked following her.

"Yes, they would be much less willing to follow him. Though for better or worse, the victor writes history. He would kill us all and then tell the world any story he so chooses. Maybe this was the family plan all along, unleash it on the world and then come in as the big heroes to save the day. I read an email between Alan's aunt and him, it said and I quote "This will make our family famous". They didn't even care they were making a weapon with no other purpose than to ruin entire countries. They thought nothing of the consequences, only what they might gain. Even the scientists on the Manhattan Project realized what they were doing and I'm sure they had many a sleepless night over it. The only reason they did it was because they knew the Nazis would build and use one if they didn't first. In the immortal words of Oppenheimer "I am become death, the shatterer of worlds", Alan has taken that mantle from him and tries to justify it. For Alan's crimes there is only one punishment, death." Jack bit out as he marked the time of where the survivors were again.

"Probably not, but he'll be happy to hear the news," Adries replied as they left the town, making sure no one saw them leave. They headed back to the lab, though Adries paused for a moment, thinking she saw something in the distance, "Probably nothing, but we should be careful."

"This ride is boring," Dewey muttered, looking out his window at the plains as they drove up north.
"All rides are," Albert replied.
"Not if it's an amusement park ride," Jacobs said cheerfully.

((Don't...uh...ingest. XD ))

"Well, let's just hope the town is closer than we hope" JD told them as he climbed to the back of the SUV.

As he fell into the trunk, he looked out the back window and noticed the SUV was leaving tracks.

"Jack could be lead right towards us" JD thought to himself.

Using his telekinesis, he conjured some dust, and use it to cover their tracks.

" Dont worry." Carver said. "I plain on blowing this thing to the moon when it is no longer necessary."
