He moved his feet around slowly tapping the cold metal below him...
"Is it supposed to be so cold out here... Aren't we nearing summer"?

"Ivan I'm sure this was man made. There is nothing like this virus that has been found in nature. I'm also sure that this wasn't their intention, probably a cure for some genetic disease using a virus. A new kind of Gene therapy that doesn't just treat a disease, but actually cure it. The problem with messing with genes is, some are dormant, so when you mess with that gene there can be unintended consequences."

Ivan started to talk. "Yeah, i heard about this. that stuff called 'Fluff' DNA, makes up about 98% of all DNA. some scientist think it has a purpose beyond being a buffer, right?" Ivan started to think. "That means there are a few possibilities. one is that this is based off some virus already found in nature. this is our best hope. if a person has created a new virus from scratch, we are royally screwed. this virus most likely works in two ways, like the HIV and AIDS virii. one either removes the fluff, or modifies it, while the other most likely goes for the kill."


(Just so you guys know, i didn't make this up about the fluff DNA. this is all true.)

"This sounds like a mix of all the plots from every zombie movie and game. Oh yeah, they 'mean' for it to happen...but it always does," Adries replied back, "Kinda reminds me of Dead Rising. Scientists originally wanted to create more livestock or something because we Americans eat a lot. Then they made ZOMBIE LIVESTOCK! And the bees or something got infected and brought it to humans. Something like that. I wasn't paying too much attention. I was busy slaying zombies and dealing with psychos. What were we talking about again?"

Hayley giggled listening to Adries rambling on about video games, then coughed again at the dust coming in through the window. She decided to close it.

Meanwhile...

Paul Dryden took a big slug of coffee from his thermos and looked with quiet dismay at the ruined cityscape out the window. He had set himself up at the end of a second floor hallway overlooking the most likely entrance to the school. He wasn't sure if he should be looking inside or outside for survivors but decided it was time for a coffee break regardless.

Ivan reached the school first. he drifted to a controlled stop, broadsiding (side door facing)
the school, careful not to lose Ryan. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at Sly High. thank you for choosing Ivan's taxi truck/zombie killer services. we hope to see you again real soon." he stepped out and rummaged in the back for a first aid kit. finding what he was looking for, he wrapped his hand in boxer bandages. "Good, now it won't hurt so bad." He put his gloves back on.

"Thank god for that." Hayley muttered getting out of the truck. She was already feeling a little better.
She started walking towards the school, but decided to stop and wait for the others.

Dryden nearly chocked on his coffee as he saw a truck broadside the school. Damming caution, he moved quickly downstairs to the doors.

"Finally back! Thank goodness we didn't die or anything!" Adries said, walking inside of the school after helping unload some of the stuff they had brought with them.

"Feels good to be back somewhere safe. Right?"

Paul Dryden pushed open the doors and stepped outside, "Sweet jesus it's good to see some people. Anyone else having a weird day?"

Hayley took a few steps back from the man who came bursting out of the doors. Although she vageuley recognised him.

"Heh... Sure why not." She side stepped around him and followed Adries inside.

Lisa stretched her legs a little, good to be at baseground again.
"A weird day? I suppose so." She replied with a awkward laugh. She was feeling ill again, her head was thumping worse than ever. She thought it had something to do with the lack of sleep she'd had recently. She gave another shudder and took some more aspirin, following the other girls.

"Just another day in the zombiepocalypse. Nothing weird about it," Adries replied, walking in and taking a quick look around the place.

"Zombies, monsters...family. Guns and explosions and shit."

 

[efrim]

"So, does anybody have any idea what's going on here? What have you guys been doing? Are there others? Sorry, I've been pretty much isolated since this thing began. I've got a lot of questions as you might imagine."

"It's been a long couple of days..."
Lisa then explained to him everything that had happened to them, about the shootout in the shopping centre, the bird, the gunshop, the jumpers, getting to the radiostation & meeting Hayley, taking down the president...As she explained it, she realized how weird it felt to tell others about it.
"That pretty much sums it up." She agreed before taking a few steps and sitting down. She was feeling so light headed. She had to rest her eyes for a few moments...She closed them and began to hold the bridge of her nose. It was slightly soothing.
"How's the leg holding up Adries? Anyone else dyin'?" Lisa asked, without moving.

 

[tsatoma]

"Legs doing better now that I've had some rest. A few more aspirin and a good night sleep will make it all the better," Adries replied cooly, already heading up to the Chemistry room.

"Hopefully everything is as we left it," she joked.

Ivan smiled. "what, screwed up and bat-shit crazy?"

Hayley, confused as to what to do, decided to follow Adries up to the Chemistry room. She usually spent as little time as possible in school, so she still didn't know her way around very well.

Moving her hair out of her face, she decided that she needed to sleep for a few minutes.
"If anyone needs me, i'll be here. Just wake me up." She explained before curling up on her seat, a little cold because she had given her sweater to Ryan. Lisa closed her eyes and her breathing became deeper and deeper and she slipped into sleep within a few minutes.
