"I got something that might work. Adries, remind me to apologize for this later." Jack ran out of the room and came back with a blowtorch.
"I bet your glad I kept these scissors huh?" Jack said as he took off his tie and balled it up before sticking it in Charles' mouth.
"Something to bite down on." Jack explained as he got the blowtorch going.
Hayley applied some alcohol to his wound.
"Alright Adries on three. One...two...three!" Adries removed the bar and jack immediately started cauterizing the wound. He applied the red hot scissor blades to the wound in two second bursts. A minute later he was done. He removed his tie from Charles' mouth.
"There, that's done."

"He'll be fine, better unconscious with a cauterized wound, than conscious and bleeding to death. Now about that apology from before, it still stands that I owe you big time for all the danger and near death that I caused you to experience through my actions. So tell me what I need to do." Jack said as he took the scotch from before and took another swig.
"Anything but telling me to stay sober right now. Anything but that and killing myself, I'll do."

Charles woke up with a moan
"No mom I don't want to go to school, i want to play Dungeons and Dragons with cousin Danny"
He looked around and noticed Adries, Hayley and Danny
"Ohhh hey guys, do you want to go to the icecream truck and get a fudgesicle?"

"Damn, I was going to tell you to stop drinking. Damn. Well, apology accepted. I'll think of something Jack," Adries replied with a grin, before turning to Charles, "And you. Fudgesicles suck. Ice Cream sandwiches all the way! Which, now that I think about it, we have some in the school freezer!"
Hayley frowned from behind her fringe, she wanted a drink too, but wasn't keen on sharing a bottle.
"He's delerious, should I knock him out?" She asked, punching her palm and smiling slightly to show she was kidding.
She let go of Charles' wrist now that his pulse had slowed down a bit.

Lisa gripped Charles' hand to check his pulse and mopped some of the blood that had been pooling with the towels, Adries had brought. She felt around in her pocket and brought some Lydacain that she had found in the back of the truck when she had left for the school during the bird fight. She had no idea how it got there but she knew it would come in handy some day.
"Easy. Take some of this. It should cause numbness if the pain gets worse, i suggest taking some now, considering your line of thinking." She muttered placing it in his hand and standing. The whole incident went so quickly she couldn't think or do anything. In that way, she wasn't like her father who was always ready no matter what the situation, she supposed that as time went by in the situation they were in now, she'd become more alert. That or dead.

"You said it. Oh god, i forgot about the joy of ice-cream. Now if someone would put me in the direction of a shower i'd be set for a while." She smiled as she bit into the treat, grabbing one of the wet towels with the other hand and wiping away the blood that had gotten on her clothes and skin.
"There are the school PE ones. Dunno if the work or if you'd want to use them. But they are an available option," Adries replied, taking a seat at one of the desks. "Those luxuries will all be gone. Man, I'll hate not having all the stuff I love. No more everything. Until all of society it rebuilt of course."
"No more TV, no more videogames, no more music...not to mention no more long baths or food we don't have to fight for." She added perching herself at the teacher's desk and almost lying down.
"I don't think i have any other choice but to face the gym room showers, I'm gonna check my locker later, i put a spare set of clothes in there. To think, last week, i would've finished up track then i would've avoided those showers and take one at my house, now i have no choice. I can't help but wonder what my house is like now..."

"It might be in good shape. Hell, maybe there are people barricaded there for protection," Adries joked, finishing up her ice cream and throwing the wrapper away.
"I know I'll miss all the new manga and comics. All that new music I'll never get to listen to...at least my iPod still works I guess. I'll never be able to find out the end to all my shows and series and stuff! Argh, I'll guess I'll make up my own damn endings to everything."

"You're right! Damn it. Well at least you can get the ending you wanted to your shows. I could always try and substitute some comics for you. How does 'Adries-Zombie hunter' sound for a comic? I guess the main thing you do before society is re-built completely is A. Make do with whatever you have and make it like what you had before, and B. Take whatever you have from before and never let it go, like your Ipod and my sketch pad." Lisa offered, finishing the Ice cream sandwich and moving her legs into a more comfortable position.
