"It was called for. They probably wouldn't be awake for another hour or something," Adries replied, getting a slight shove from her brother.
"Morning Lisa. It was much appreciated. I thought the dream couldn't get any worse, but noooo," Alan told her, taking a seat next to her.
"Sorry. But I'm hungry, and if I'm awake then you have to be awake," Adries said.
"Lovely."

"Who likes MREs?" Jacobs asked them when he opened up the supply box and taking out a mess kit. He looked up to see Alan and Adries staring at him with their eyebrows raised, "Er...well let's see what's inside. I think they put a bunch of different ones in here so that everyone can be happy. Ah, here's a Veggie burger! And chicken with noodles! Ohhh...chicken fajita. That sounds good."
"Oh god I think I'd rather hunt for my food," Alan said.
"Or starve," Adries added.

"Is that all we've got?" Lisa asked with a frown, picking up the chicken with noodles and studying it, "So they couldn't sprint for some fresh eggs or bread or anything like that? At least that way we could've enjoyed them before they got stale. This stuff could probably last months. Oh well, work with what we've got, eh?"

"We can always go and find some bird eggs," Alan remarked, looking at the spaghetti and meatballs.
"Sorry that there wasn't really enough time to get anything special. Was there anything inside of the station?" Jacobs asked them, showing Alan how to cook his meal.
"Trail mix," Adries replied, watching Jacobs get some water from his canteen.
"Well, that can go with some of this," Jacobs said cheerfully.

((Dexter is on, so won't post for an hour. Sorry.))

"Freeze-dried noodles and trail mix? Yum. The Four Seasons didn't know what it was missing." Lisa sniggered, watching how the meal was 'prepared' while she put her choice aside. Then looking to her side to Adries and Alan.
"Should we wake your Uncle?"

((Probably be gone by the time you get back, time differences an all. See you!))

((I jizzed in my pants (not really though)! Such a good episode. I love my weekly dosage, though I hate having to wait a week. :( ))

"No," they both replied, still watching Jacobs.
"He'd probably have one of those flashbacks from his military days," Adries added.
"I doubt an MRE would make him flashback, it's not like he ever did duty in 'Nam or something," Alan said, taking his meal from Jacobs once it was finished. He read the instructions a bit before taking a bite.

"It's no big deal, we have a good amount of these and they seem easy enough to prepare. Besides, he doesn't have to get up unless Adries wants him up." Lisa said with a small grin then grabbing her pack to prepare.
"How's it taste, Alan?"

"Ugh." Christie yawned, slowly opening her eyes. She decided that sleeping rough had become more of a pain since she last did it a few months ago. She brushed down her gear after getting to her feet and stretching. She was surprised she'd gotten any sleep at all but it didn't bother her too much. She lit up the first cigarette of the day and moved out of the forest, towards the station.

"I've had worse," Alan replied, poking around at his meal before taking another bite, "It's not that bad, but it's still not the most appetizing thing."
"Well duh. It's a meal in a bag! I doubt it'd be the most delicious thing you've ever tasted," Adries told him, waiting for her meal to finish so she could have some.

"I think they're tasty, but I'm kinda used to them. When we had no chefs back at the base we mainly ate these," Jacobs said.

"Well. Like i said better than nothing. Must've been a while before there were chefs around, so i don't think it's much of a surprise that these could be appealing after eating them so much. I meant to ask, what are the plans for today? Wait around here?" She asked no one in particular while she waited for the bag to heat up.

"Well, we're waiting for Captain Conroy to show up. Once he gets here then the next idea would be to head to somewhere safe," Jacobs replied, giving Adries her meal.
"So this place isn't safe enough?" Alan asked, "Then why are we here for the first place?"
"Oh, because this was the rallying point Kaufman gave to myself, Dewey, and the Captain," Jacobs said.
"So after this it's up to us to find a nice, safe place?" Adries asked, taking a bite out of her food.
"Well yeah. I've been looking at the maps around this place for a safer place, but no luck yet," Jacobs told them.

"There must be somewhere left. We'll just need to keep looking," Lisa replied thoughtfully, "Conroy was leading that mission you mentioned yesterday. Did he manage any other survivors you think?"

Bingo.
She whistled a tune, catching the last thing Jacobs had said and the baseline of a plan forming in her mind. Christie walked past them and raised her hand shortly without saying a real greeting and going into the station.

"No clue," Jacobs told Lisa, waving back at Christie, "His mission was to get in then out. I doubt he found anyone. If he did he probably told them to go where the civilians are."
"Maybe we should try to find a place that isn't on a map," Alan said, finishing eating and putting his plate down, "Or atleast somewhere that most people would not expect to look."

While Jack trusted Christie's skills, he made sure to keep a leaper watching the APC just in case she failed to embed in the group. Even if she did, he wanted to know where the group was going.

"Yeah, that'd be good. Somewhere isolated enough that we're not in danger but we can still go somewhere in case supplies run low. Then again that might be a dream at this point, but we can still look around." Lisa said taking a mouthful of her meal.

She'd stopped whistling when she saw that Albert was still asleep inside. Christie crept past him, sitting on a desk while she fished out the tracker and scanned for what she needed. Safe, not on a map and hospitable? I have just the place. Perhaps this will gain some favor here.

"We'll find something. Be it by stumbling upon a safe place of even making our own," Jacobs said, taking a bite of his meal.
"The sooner we find a stable place the better," Alan said, staring at the fire, "It's hard to work when I can only take out a few pieces of equipment here or there. But if we need to leave quickly I can't have everything out, it'd just take too long to pack it all up."
"You shouldn't have taken so much," Adries told him.
"Hey, I already had to leave most of it behind. I could only take the most important things."

"...You'll still be able to work on it, right?" Lisa asked with a quiet tone, twirling some noodles with her fork before looking up, "Even though you're missing a lot of the equipment, I mean?"

"Yeah. I actually worked a bit on it last night. Not much could be done, since I couldn't bring out all of the equipment I have, but a bit here and there is fine," Alan said, looking over at her, "I have all the things necessary to research it, but I doubt I'd have everything to make it. But I'll worry about that when the time comes."

Lisa gave a feeble smile.
"Good to hear. Once we find that safe area, you'll be able to set up and continue research fully though. Then when the time comes, we'll find a way."

Pleased with her find, she walked out of the station, making sure not to disturb him again as she left. She threw the tracker up and caught it a few times as she approached the fire.
"You needed somewhere safe and unmarked?"

Alan smiled back, "Yep. Get a safe place, maybe those notes, and I'll have it made sooner rather than later." Alan was going to continue talking, but stopped when he saw Christie. He and Adries glared at her, while Jacobs smiled.

"Yeah, that's basically what we're looking for," Jacobs said.

"Then, am I good or am i good?" Christie smirked, catching it another time before stopping, "I have one and only one, inhabited, sterilized, unmarked building that was last signed up as locked. It's a journey but it exists and I have the directions."

"LIES!" Adries yelled at her, dramatically pointing her finger at Christie in accusation, "It's a trap! Burn the witch!"
"Well I don't think that but I dislike this...coincidence," Alan said, a look of distrust on his face.
"Please, just relax everyone. Where is it? What is it? How do you know about it?" Jacobs asked.
