I hate that they dare to call them social games. What interaction is there playing Farmville? "ADD ME ON FARMVILLE OR DIE!!!"

"ok..."

I have more social toilet stops.

And here comes the flood of "You're not a gamer unless you play the games I play" from the gaming hipster crowd.
Please do not insult our indie devs. They are our hipsters no matter how much they hate it. Zynga is our cousin that rips everyone off.
No I was actually referring to the AAA players who claim casual gaming isn't real gaming. Edited the original post to make it more clear.
Triple A is still kinda thinking high of them right?
I'm confused. Do you think I'm calling Zynga AAA? What I'm trying to say is that here, in the escapist forums, there are many who will turn their nose up at this because they don't think casual games are real games. Anyone who says "You're not really into this thing unless you're into it in my, obviously superior, way of being into it" is a hipster.
Just messing with you.
LOL! Oi! That doesn't come through in text dude. You had me really confused there!

Zynga needs to reevaluate the meaning of the phrase "Hardcore Gamer"

Until they go on a 21-36 hour binge of playing whilst barely moving from one spot, They are nothing more than moms who need better hobbies.

I'm not even talking WoW players, who will play uninterrupted for days, I'm talking about the RPG fanboys who play the entire story in one sitting, or the FPS Guys who sit online from breakfast 'til dinner. These guys are hardcore.

Besides, the most hardcore Zynga has gotten is being the Don of a Mafia (or, okay, if you want to count it, Werewolves and Vampires. I choose not to for one word: Twilight). Which, in comparison to other games, isn't that hardcore. You click on a button, and bam, money. Not that exciting.
Yes, I have played Zynga games before. I have a Farmville account at Level 23 and a Mafia Wars account at level 129, with 6.8 Trillion Dollars in the Bank. I got bored though. The games got redundant quickly, and it felt more like a job than a game. And no matter how much I want it to be, those trillions of dollars are non-redeemable for real cash.

Well, you can tell Zynga that if they talk about my mother again I m going to curb stomp each and every one of them!

Besides, my mother is against gaming. I have tried getting her to play, but she prefers reading in her free time.

Hardcore gamers? You mean those douche bags that only play AAA titles like Halo and Call of Duty but claim to be "hardcore" so they aren't "losers that play video games all day", and that are an insult to real gamers? So, they dropped the douche bag part, trade AAA generic shooters for casual games, but keep the insult to real gamers? Well, can't really argue with that...

I think decelopers like zenga are bitter about what big companies like EA and nintendo say about them.

My Mum doesn't game. She does all sorts of crazy, hardcore shit, like feeding her children and looking after her household, and managing a photography studio in Leeds, but she doesn't game.

The odd spot of Bejewelled or Fall Down on her Android being the exception to that, at least. And even then, she doesn't play your shit, Zynga.

I, however, do game. And I don't play your shit either.

Considering Farmville is an addiction more than an actual game to most of the people who play it, Zynga can suck one million dicks consecutively.

I just hope Bobby Kotick doesn't find out. He's already fucking with us, and I definitely wouldn't want to see him fucking my mom.

Seriously though did Zynga not realize that many gamers who might be reading these interviews might actually already be moms? Do they somehow think that moms do not already play "hardcore" games? Does having born children preclude you from gaming beyond Facebook apps and mobile games?

An entire 68 minutes a day? Hard core, indeed.

Silly me and my 600 minute stretches. I'll never catch up to these new "hard core" gamers.

If I make a my little pony game and aim it at 8 year old girls... then obviously it's going to get played by 8 year old girls.. it doesn't mean that I can suddenly claim that 8 year old girls are the new hardcore gamer, just because they are the main people who play my game.

Horse shit. I jut got off of a 12 hour Minecraft building spree, before that was a 12 hours on Left 4 dead 2, and before that was a 12 hour Guild Wars, Warhammer, &Global Agenda spree.

And i am no where near hardcore so these mother fuckers need to cease such blasphemy.

As far as Zynga is concerned(and listen close this shits goddamn important)

The person what spends the most money on farmville cash is the uberest of leet players. They gauge how hardcore a player is by how much they spend. Why? Well its how the machine works.

Off-topic-ish time.
Why do we still call that shit "social gaming" its a nicety name given by Zynga so they did not have to call it 'Skinner-box" or "moocher-game", or "use your friends to reach victory without nay degree of socializing". Seriously. Call of Duty is more social than this shit. Facebook applications are insane and not in a good way.
My grandmother is a hardcore gamer because she sits around all day drinking tea and playing Mario on a SNES for 8 hours a day(retired bless her little soul).

They are idiots playing off their friends on an Application designed to get money.

My Grandpa is a hardcore gamer based on the fact he will sit down on Saturday and play TF2 from dawn to dusk. He is the most awesome heavy ever given the fact he is in his 60s.

Do not call them hardcore gamers. They do not play games involving any degree of coordination, skill, or intense thought(or above regular thought levels) and it is insulting to actual gamers to say such a thing.
Dude, I'm just gonna say this, your grandparents kick ass.

But back on topic. At this point, I really don't care what Zynga says anymore: they're talking out of their ass, their games aren't really games and, despite being called social games, you hardly socialize with people (hell, I played one of these on Facebook for a while called Superhero City, and I've probably socialized with people more playing Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam than on that fucking game), so yeah, I move we come up with a new term for these sorts of games, but not something degrading. I don't know, how about "network games", seeing as it's a far more accurate term for these sorts of games since you're basically leeching off of the "network" of friends you have.

If mobile gaming can have a more accurate term for it, why not social games? I move we call them network games. Who's with me?
