EDIT: It cases like these that wants me to become a judge. "You want to sue McDonalds because you burnt yourself on a coffie mug? Are you retarded? Get out of my court!!"
Yep, you sure would be a great judge, ignoring evidence that is contrary to your beliefs would make you great for passing impartial judgments. This one gets me the most, because there are now several web pages with the sole purpose of explaining why that was not a frivolous lawsuit, just look it up.

Second, the Escapist continues to be ageist assholes. Yes, you may know that these things are scams, but how are older people supposed to learn pop ups are deceiving. PSAs? Their children(assuming they have any)? Night Classes?

Third, Zynga deserves this. Now some people may love their games, but this company built themselves on facilitating scammers. The fact is that these shady advertisements continue on Zynga games even though they have recieved complaints.

good. I hope Zynga lose the scamming arseholes. Just cause they admit to scamming doesn't mean they don't deserve to be sued for it. Infact, they're statement will probably be used as evidence against them... hee hee.
Indeed since both Zynga and the ad company have gone on record stating that there stuff is dodgy I can see this being a hard win for them, and its probably what prompted the law suit in the first place.

So shes been charged around $300 and shes seeking $5 million? Man I wish I was dumb enough to click pop ups.

Its a Class Action law suit, meaning there will be more than one. Its likely to be a hundred or so that those millions are split over, after the vulture lawyers have had there fill of course

when they admitted to doing this, i thought there would be like, 8-20 different lawsuits against them.

Although, I am not completely convinced Ms. Swift isn't mentally retarded, I hate advertising and any blow to it that can be rendered, I am happy to support.

Is this the Plaintiff's sister? Here [http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=225;6;42;-1;-1&sku=271200]

But in any case, I think it's both at fault. Her for doing it in the first place, and them for putting it up.

5 Mill is a bit much...
These kinds of lawsuits are ridiculous. Though i agree with her thats bot how you solve a problem considering they make way more than that in a year.

No matter how hard you try, even smart guys sometimes get high tempted to play on this game. You won't believe how much my friend lost on FarmVille!, money enough to buy a house!.
He then discovered another great way to entertain himself online :)

Nice to know they're getting sued, but quick point:

You gave them your debit information. How many times have you been asked to give that out to someone who WASN'T planning to charge the card?

Yeah, one of the first bitter lesson of the internetz is NEVER click on adds, never buy stupid bullshit. If you need to buy sth, use strictly reputable sites like Amazon or ones representing actual real world companies.

I'm not surprised she was scammed at all. It's something most of us are used to I guess, we just learned to avoid it. Am glad she's suing their stupid asses off however - while a lot of those scams are hard to track down as they're nameless, this one's got a nice name and face to pin a lawsuit to. Fingers crossed she rips them a new one.
