Congrats! I'm voting for Trump out of pure SPITE.
That happened on 2016, and look where we're at now. I would be furious at Donald if I voted for him. He didn't lock up Hilary, get Mexico to pay the wall, or drain the swamp. He is not a Republican nor does he care for anything except himself.

Sure but still, Christ.
If he were being honest, he was never inclined to vote against Trump in the first place. Gotta fight the social justice warrior, man. Gotta stick it to those Twitter libtards while people literally cough their lungs to pieces and lose their homes. Cuz we all know what's really important, amirite?
Had an easy win but just had to play dirty so now, fuck them.
Cuz Trump plays so clean. Get over yourself.

That's what I often think just generally if I see people claim spite or some petty reason, I think that someone probably already had that inclination anyways and this is just sort of an excuse to do what they were inclined to anyways. Maybe it's what someone says to convince themselves in the end.

Nah. Fuck them. Neither they nor YOU get to play "I have the moral high ground" after bullshit like everything to do with Kenosha. The democrats pulled a Nixon. Had an easy win but just had to play dirty so now, fuck them. They pretended to take the high ground but didn't so now they have nothing to offer to me. Congrats! I'm voting for Trump out of pure SPITE.
No one thought you were ever going to vote Dems. Please dont pretend otherwise

I'm sure you think this is a threat. But what you said means literally nothing.

If you want to vote Trump, that's cool. Don't pretend you are something you're not

It doesn't take " spin" to know that if they passed ANYTHING other than the $600 a month here, that my brother, his wife, and his children would lose their home WHILE he is still trying to recover after being in the hospital for so long. That if Trump is elected, he plans on taking away my access to the medication I need to stay alive. That isn't " spin" that is the reality of what me and my family are having happen here due to Trump and the GOP's very real actions here. Democrats were the only one's trying to prevent that from happening here. Congrats! since you think I and millions like me should die, welcome to my ignore list. If trump wins, me, my family, friends, and neighbors and lose our only access to AFFORDABLE medication and doctor's visits we need to survive. If you think that is worth tossing due to stupidity and spite I really don't think anything you have to say is worth seeing anymore either. Have a nice life, we sure as hell will not have that luxury if Trump wins, so hope you are able to survive as well as we are thanks to Trump and the GOP extremely malicious actions.

Yea the Democrat DO have the moral high ground because you can't go much lower than the GOP right now. The GOP were fine with letting people become homeless and die without access to their medication. How can you even get lower than that? Oh yea, look in the mirror, you get lower than that by " voting out of spite" and not caring if people will die to that decision.

Yea, because it takes a entirely new level of shitty person to not care that millions of people become homeless and die because of what some politicians completely not related to the others does something they don't like. If he can not care my family becomes homeless over this or I die without affordable access to the medications along with millions of other people I really don't have anything more to say to him tbh.

Well next time I make cookies you're not getting any.
Yea because making millions homeless, removing their access to food and medication is somehow the equivalent. I think you know what you can do with those cookies. THIS is what is wrong with the GOP. They sit around making cookies while causing millions to starve suffer and die. Thanks for that.

Hmm. This is erratic, but also please do this.

Clearly, this is why. (Probably not.)
And this is going to save the unemployed terribly behind on their bills how exactly? It isn't anywhere near enough, but that is trump's intention here, he doesn't want to do anything to stop the eviction crisis at all here and the longer it takes to get help the MORE money they need to stop it. He just puts on a show, but not actually do anything to solve the problems here. Millions of people will still become homeless with this small amount. At this point, this only helps those who would survive without it. They need this,+ fill back payment gaps+ $600 unemployment boost in order to make up for the time they delayed this thus far. The numbers to actually stop the eviction crisis are rising the more it is delayed, they aren't getting smaller here, they just keep going up instead.

Trump didn't make it so that people are using upwards of 50% of their paycheck for rent.

He actually did. Homelessness has been on the rise every year since being at a decade low due to Obama's policies. Trump has been reversing or not enforcing Obama polices that were reducing homelessness and making housing affordable. Trump's war on low income housing IS what is causing this to be much worse than it would have been otherwise. Trump cut funding, didn't enforce policies and then gutting them all together is what made this worse than it had to be.

Not only did Trump help cause this mess, he didn't do anything to offset it as Obama at least was able to stop the increase in homelessness and reverse it. Trump's plan is just to pretend they don't exist:

I must disagree. Trump didn't cause this:

This is the real problem.

Everything you googled up could be true, but that won't change this graph

Unless, of course, Obama managed to level this graph out during his time in office.

You're right, but at the moment to the people struggling literally any money is money that they need.

It's not a complete fix, or even a good fix, and it might not personally help you and your family, but it will still help people. I'm sure there's more than a few people who could definitely use an extra $1200 to be able to afford food while they still haven't been evicted yet, and there's definitely people who could have used the $400 a month that the Democrats refused.

That money wouldn't have solved all the problems, but it would have helped alleviate some problems and with how desperate people are at the moment some is better than none.

I agree that something is better than nothing, the problem is that Trump thinks that if he gives this something, it somehow makes up for everything he just took away from them by stopping the talks instead of telling the GOP to pass the damn bill that the house already passed instead. Trump thinks that this makes up for making people become homeless, it does not.

You have to understand that this is meant to " be in place of" meaning it will not stop the 30-40 million evictions or even slow them at this point. I am addressing the fact that more money isn't coming at all at this point. Trump is doing this and then saying " okay we took care of the poor now e can forget about them. People have to keep that in mind when looking at the context here. If they passed the $400 that means nothing else would come at all, period. It means they can give up any hope of more coming. That is the context I am looking at here. It is just enough to keep them from qualifying for welfare but not enough to survive. Taking that money meant they were guaranteeing the 30-40 million evictions would still happen and no more help would come all the while giving trillions to the already wealthy who are not at risk of homelessness. If they could take the money and know more help was actually coming for the unemployed, that would have made a huge difference here, but that wasn't the GOP offer in the first place. They were making it the ONLY help, and that is where the problem lies. Many are better off qualifying for TANF, welfare, Medicaid and other programs, which this money would then prevent them from doing so while still forcing them to become homeless in the process. It is sort of like the poisoned apple..

Would be awfully swell if you'd find a graph that covered 2009 - 2020, you know, the years that Obama and Tramp were actually in office?

Did... did you seriously use a pre-recession housing cost graph for this argument? You’re not even wrong, but holy shit is that the dumbest way to make this argument.

You did read the links above how Obama had actually implemented programs to combat it and Trump took those away while ALSO taking away the regulations that were meant to keep another crisis from happening right? Obama reduced homelessness and implemented affordable housing programs that Trump destroyed.

What exactly is Trump actually doing right now to help keep people from losing their homes as we speak? How did trump taking away the regulation meant to keep another financial crisis from happening impact the current financial crisis? How does Trump's ending Obama's housing programs impact the current housing crisis? What has trump done to stop it?

Having existing problems = taking action to reduce them, make them better, in the immediate while working towards long term solution. As president, that is what he is supposed to do here. We had existing problems prior to Obama taking office, Obama at least tried to address them. trump just chose to make them worse instead because he actually WANTS housing crisis's to happen.

Trump's current actions to make this worse make much more sense once you look at what he did prior to becoming President.
