I will never call a game "Best Ever" just because that's closed minded. But, I can say "Best game out of all I've played." Oblivion is a very good game, but I wouldn't say it was "best ever" simply because there are a lot of issues that you just have to put up with.

Are consoles more reliable than pcs? Short answer - No. Just look at their failure rates. Are developers able to produce more stablized products on closed environment which as console, No, just look at Fallout 3. Each has their ups and down but neither are more reliable than the other...

Sometimes developers make you wish you had bothered to download a pirate version of their game. Bethesda came out with Fallout 3 a little while ago, and I like many others who visit the Bethesda pc issue page, have hardly been able to play the game at all due to bugs, CTD or save corruptions...

I still find it enjoyable, though I have to admit my attention isn't dragged away by the nearest new shiny thing.

Gameplay. Then story. Graphics are the poor cousin on my list but sadly developers think of them as the rich neighbour.

I'm going to give this patch a few days to fester before I download it. My fear is that this patch will need a patch.

Bethesda, though its limited to just Oblivion really, and I'd say Relic but its not up there.

I enjoy it, though "oblivion with guns" isn't that far off since the engine is pretty much the same... well it is the same engine just with a few upgrades. All in all it could have been done better, Bethesda recycling the Oblivion engine into it was a bad move, how old is that engine now...
