I love JRPGs. Even more now because I tried to play Oblivion and honestly was not impressed. Now if Fable or Fallout can change my mind it'd be a balance...

Empire Earth is actually a pretty swell game, it spans all of time and is very fun. You can even zoom in to watch your soldiers die even closer...hehe.
If you want one that's simple yet lacking, Star Wars: Empire at War is actually...
Whenever there are large groups of enemies [preferably 9 or higher] and you've got to think fast to do this. Well, it's only intense in turn-based combat...now I want to play Final Fantasy...or FF IV...either one.
Similarly any level in an FPS where you really do have to kill hundreds to crawl...
Oh this is classic...I think I'm the same way when playing Solitaire with an actual tangible deck of cards. I sometimes forget there's no right-click so I've got to do everything manually...
Hm...Mostly I just unistall and keep them off nowadays, but earlier on I used to dust off old favorites, examples:

Roller Coaster Tycoon [The first one]
Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
Oh god damn...now I want to play that last one...but I lost the CD key...
It brought about mindless Real-time combat....and boring open-world crap...damn, now I'm gonna go play Final Fantasy just for that.
