Thanks everyone for your opinions. I have some thinking to do.

Where did you meet your current significant other?

I met my SO online so I might not be of too much assistance. My apologies in advance. You could try some sort of activity club (hiking, book club, something you are interested in) Probably getting out and networking with people in general seems like a good way to meet someone. You can try...

How do you live with a barking dog? (mixed rant/question)

For your first question, it is probably as others have already said. Eventually people just become numb to the sound of their dog's barking. For your second question (or second part of the first), it is usually laziness and then outsiders (neighbors, other family members) have to deal with...

    School/Life Troubles

I just want to thank you three for humoring me in my time of need. It really means a lot that you took even a few minutes out of your time to respond to my thread. I appreciate what, if anything, my closer friends say, but I feel more comfortable asking an unbiased audience. So thank you...

    School/Life Troubles

If I thought I could talk to someone closer to me, I would. But the people I have spoken to either have absolutely nothing to say or I am too butthurt to talk to them. This is the story in a nutshell: I have been going to school at a university in the United States for two years now. I am...

Angry ex-girlfriend goes ballistic, rips off man?s scrotum

Wow. This happened in my city. Huh. Odd that I have not heard a thing about it. Unless she had a damned good reason, I say lock her up and throw away the key. Is she really only getting charged with a misdemeanor for the domestic battery?

    Poll: Language

I speak English and French fluently. I have seven years of self-taught experience in Japanese as well as two in uni (surprisingly, I only had to unlearn a few things). I began learning Russian two years ago. Would love to learn Arabic and Irish but from what I can see, the United States...

    Nitpicking: Forum Debate Etiquette

For some reason, it bothers me when a serious debate is going on and someone just posts a picture with some words on it in response. I think for me it is irritating because it seems to convey disinterest or a lack of commitment to the discussion. I am not saying that it is the case all of...

Survey: What's your favourite kind of sandwich?

Peanut butter and honey sandwiches. I could never stand jelly or jam so I was introduced to that combination at a young age. So good.

I cannot seem to complete reading books anymore.

Do you usually do something else when you read long articles (I assume you mean internet articles but if not, ignore me)? Sadly, books do not lend themselves well to multi-tasking. That is the reason quite a few of my friends have more difficulty settling down and reading books. They always...

What Mistakes Do You Normally Make When You're Typing/Writing

My biggest typing error is always "your". 9 out of 10 times I spell it "yoru". I guess I just forget the "u" goes before the "r". Other times, I either spell entire words backwards or combine two words as I type.

    Donating Blood

Oh no. He had quite a few other problems that he was determined to never seek help for. I can understand your fear. I guess until you decide that knowing is better than not knowing, there is not much anyone can say. You are already well informed on it so it is just a matter of time. I am...
