if you're talking about reach i can assure you that the player count doesn't go below around 80,000 or so at any time, usually its over 100,000 and at peak times 130-140,000. if not, then my apologies. OT: eh. MM ,OOT and the original halo probably fall under the nostalgia range.

ricochet is pretty damn terrible. OT: it's not likely because valve is a highly competent studio, and although half life is overrated, it isn't to the degree that duke nukem 3d was.

Outland is a great platformer, and i would also go with the MTG arcade games.

the flood as a whole defiantly have to be up there on the list of annoying enemies.

jackal snipers in halo 2 and 3 are a pain, but creepers are worse.
