Yeah I had that relationship with a few bots as well- Gorge being one of them. Malcolm always used to whup my butt too, but with that serious face and super serious beret, I couldn't help but respect the guy. Is it strange though that I felt a bit sad when I found out Lauren died (properly) in the lead up to one of the Championship games?
With Far Cry 2, I also wonder about so many little changes they could have done to fix the flaws, most notably the checkpoint respawns. I used to pretend that they had only
just tentatively remanned the outpost before I came barging through wiping them out all over again. That was always fun. I also wish that not only could hang gliders ride the occasional thermal to stay aloft, but we should have been able to climb onto the hills that seperate all the valleys the roads go through. That way we could observe a hostile base right up from the high mountains and plan our assault. I was also a bit disappointed that the big mountain in the north area was off limits. I wanted to get to the top of it and find an easter egg hang glider or something. Oh and why does my car automatically have to be slower than everything else? Oh well. Freaking out base survivors when hiding always gives me a chuckle.

I could go on all day, but instead I'll throw out two other favourite FPS games of mine to see if we still agree: Tribes Vengeance and Call of Duty 2
Hehe- I've got COD2 on lend from a friend and am chipping away at it these days. I really loved one part in the desert where you look up at a distant sand dune and see a
whole wave of Germans running towards your settlement, and you've only got your bolt-action handy...
I only played Vengeance once at a LAN where there was some prize up for grabs for who could win a game of Rabbit. I did enjoy skiing quite a lot, but I've always been more of a Battlefield 1942 man. To date I've never seen any other game (not even UT2004) get the balance of vehicles against each other and infantry
just right. It was clearly a fluke though, as none of the subsequent Battlefields have come close to balancing it right. (Or even having a similar number of units)

That's some damn good taste in games you have there.
