One would think that the prevalence of violence in movies and TV predates the advent of violence in video games by decades. One would think that people have watched TV and movies far longer than they have played video games. One would think that Tom is trying to deflect criticism of violence...
Robotron: short and sweet: kill all and save families
Arcanum: open endedness of the storyline was what I found most attractive.
Mechwarrior 4: Defeating the evil regime never gets old and there were a couple of twists that were cool, plus the video clips were a nice touch.
Good graphics are nice but good game play always trumps good graphics. Good graphics might get me to stop and take a gander but good game play will keep me coming back.
If you like it why stop? I don't see why since the system is designed to entertain, if you still find it entertaining keep it up.
I'm still ticked I can't play Intellivision anymore. My buddy has the arcade version of Robotron, still my favorite game, and until the joysticks broke I would...
Whoah some question. In truncated form:
The first DOS (I would guess)
Apple IIE
PC XT
Intelivision
Sega Genesis
Windows (every version except Vista)
PS1

In lieu of reading most of these posts, which seem to be harping on the same few points I would suggest Automatic Meat might want to go and see if he can find an open ended game like Arcanum. In that game you can literally make up a character and do virtually whatever you want. Most RPGs fail at...
Are you referring to character creation or the development of a character throughout the game play? For the former I would say it is the characters look, basic personality and abilities, though not necessarily in that order. With the latter it is the dialogue and actions the character takes...
The profits to be gained by the majority of movies are not intended by the movie receipts but through the DvD sales and other fluff that go along with the release of a movie. They want to make as much a hit as possible during their opening week and then expect the bulk of revenues to come from...
With a marketing/economic report, much like scientific experiments, you can pretty much "prove" whatever you want as long as you angle everything to your liking.
