I have a PC and a 360. Most of my friends game on at least one of the two so it made sense for me. I only know a couple of people with a PS3 and while I do want to play a few of the exclusives, there aren't enough to justify buying that as well.
I do base purchases on replay value in that I'll initially rent them, and if it's something I know I'll want to play again then I'll pay the extra £8 or whatever to keep it. I definitely don't base play choices on replay value.
I was all "ah, I've never done anything that bad" until someone mentioned WoW. Then I was going to list shit but there was just too much. That game really was designed for the dishonourable.
I generally buy multiplayer, rent single-player (some exceptions, of course). I guess if other people are doing that too, adding multiplayer is an easy way to make sure its your game getting bought. That said, some games really do not need multiplayer. At all. Ever.
