If Portal 2 had too many Half-Life references then it might have interfered or "limited" what could be done with Half-Life 2: Episode 3. I liked the Borealis thing, that was good enough for me.

It always makes me sigh a little, but is there really any alternative? I used to hate games where if your companion died then it basically acted like you died and gave you a Game Over screen.

Any word on if Portal 2 will be 1080p? Obviously it will be supported, but all Valve games have been naturally 720p. The reason I wonder is because all of the screenshots they have released have been in 1080p, and they've upgraded the Source engine to include much higher-resolution textures.

If they don't have co-op naturally, at least allow for it using a mod. Similar to Synergy and Half-Life 2.
