I plan on waiting a month or three until after release to get it so I can download tons of user made mods to make the experience bearable. Bethesda, for all their immense world building talent, has just made some piss poor games since Morrowind.

Not a popular opinion, I know, but it's mine.

I've been maxing out the graphics on Oblivion as much as possible lately, just to see how far I could push it. It looks pretty good really.
I'm going to download some graphic mods for it tomorrow.
It's nice playing through some of the guilds again, they had some fun quests. I wasn't a big fan of the main plot though.

I'm going to be totally bummed since I leave for Boot Camp this summer and probably won't be able to play Skyrim for a long, long time.

Avoiding all games which might even be remotely similar, so I don't build up expectations and it can hopefully be one big lovely surprise.

I played through Oblivion, then Morrowind and now I'm grinding my way through daggerfall, although I'm a little lost.

Other than that, nothing... playing other games is what I usually do. Currently started a new world in minecraft, completed all 6 campaigns in DoW:Retribution, frequenting multiplayer in killzone 3.

I still have my ears and eyes alert for new details, but other then that I'm just getting on with other things.

Well, I WOULD like to replay all TES games but that wouldn't be fair to all the new games coming out.

So short answer... nothing at all.

Actually prepare myself to roleplay for once.

In the past I have always waited, waited, and waited for games to come out when my hype level was too high. I always succumb to reading guides, noting that it has spoiler warnings over it and they outline the best choices.

Not again. Fresh. I'm checking on if the release is more bug-free than the gamebryo engine, and then all Skyrim news is cut off.

Eat right, exercise, and lose 50+ pounds. Get a nice tan, get a girlfriend, and then buy the game. So i gain 100+ pounds as im playing it, shut off from society inside lose my tan, and not interact with a girl, for 7+ months. Then I'll be back to normal when i wake up from my Skyrim induced coma!

I played some Daggerfall for the first time, it was interesting but sadly I must admit having some difficulty getting into it. Also I am working to beat Oblivion for the first time and will then re-install Morrowind try out the graphic mod to improve terrain etc. and have another glorious go at one of my favourite games of all time! :D

Best way to prepare for Skyrim in my opinion is to immerse myself in Tamriels history much of shaped by the player. Also the books, gotta re-read all those books in the games.

And finally, strengthening the vocal chords to shout with the power of Rob Halford.
Now you've got me hoping that "Dragon shouts" will be face melting metal yells from different heavy metal singers.

Different shouts and their effects:
Rob Halford shout- A Razorblade-wheeled motorcycle emerges from the depths of hell
Bruce Dickinson shout- Calls forth a horde of undead warriors who claw their way out of the ground
RJD shout- You grow kickass devil horns and everyone around you becomes your slave
Matt Barlow shout- Makes all enemies in the area to go batshit insane
Russel Allen shout- You do have the strength the string the bow
Jorn Lande shout- You transform into a human-sized raven

[sub] hope people get the references [/sub]

Iunno, I think Christopher Lee should be in on this.

Uargh.... seeing things like that makes me wish I had a nice computer even harder. Alas, I'm too poor to buy one and too dumb to know anything about building them. ;-;
