Certain classes ARE more effective in certain situations. There IS a point in having different classes, because they're all radically different and it's what gives the game its strategic depth. If they were all exactly the same, you'd be right. But they aren't.
And let me be the first to say...
...Huh? What do you mean by that? One of the reasons the game is so brilliant is because the classes are near-perfectly balanced.
EDIT: Am I the only one here who actually likes the 360 version...?
I'm having a pretty good time with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon right now. Mirror's Edge is alright too; it's not the greatest game ever, but it's not as bad as people say it is.
