We can be annoying. Personally I don't use a mic because I know I will be treated unfairly because of my voice, and that goes for the xbox just because you have a mic doesn't mean you should use it and I can see where people come from because the games is too old for "us" but we are able to obtain them anyway. Why? Because some parents do the research and trust their kids while others just blindly buy a game because the kid kicks and screams all he wants.

Well, we can't blame them. It's not their fault they're too young to know that TIMESPLITTERS IS BETTER.

But actually I'd like to see more younger gamers experience a wider range of games. Try playing anything. There's even a massive pile of older games you can get for cheap at shops like Gamestation or CEX. The only thing I wouldn't play is sports games.
HAHA I'm 14 and I played timesplitters 2 and future perfect as a kid, they're one of the best shooter series of all time
They are aren't they. I remember playing them for so long I found other games meek in comparison. Although Half-Life is also pretty high up except for the episodes I find them good but not great.

It seems kids on the escapists aren't that bad. Who would have thought?

Are an excellent arguement for stronger enforcement of the rating laws for games.
This, thank you very much. Please come back after you don't sound like a little girl.

How dare 10-15 year olds enjoy playing games and tainting our precious medium! They must all die for not being 100% perfect like we were when we were kids!

I feel the same way about them as I do about pretty much every gamer. Stop being a ***** when you get spanked and stop raging when you're in the process of getting spanked, and for the love of God relax, if you're winning you don't need to talk smack to a guy that can eat your prepubescent self.

So basically, chill, it's a game. Have fun, but you don't need to smack talk and whatnot just because you're winning or losing. I've played a few games with a guy in that age bracket and even when he was on my team, he was a total ass to me. Finally I told him that he was forbidden to talk smack until his overall score for the matches we played together was higher than mine. It never was, and the amount of times I raped his face probably bordered on war crimes. XD

All of this would be quite simple to fix with a "mute player XYZ" button that mark them to be muted forever (for you) until you unmute them at a later time, if ever.

I only experienced annoying teens on XBOX live on HALO. Calling everyone and their mom Fags, noobs, gay and other tasteless stuff from the internet insult package (standart english edition).
Otherwise for PC its just the occasionnal music spammer and griefer. Too rare to be a real problem.

I'm 14 and I never end up swearing to anyone when I'm on a mic or off a mic. I mean...its a game. There really is no need to call someone the "N-Word" or any other vile thing because they beat me/killed me in a game. I'm just here to have a good time, not to be an annoying twat. :|

In short, it all depends on the person. As long as we can behave, we can have a fun time playing our games, regardless of our age group.

I can't stand the age group...but that kind of stuff isn't limited to the kids when it comes to the online community.

I'm in this age group, and I know that Timesplitters is better. :]

Anyway, whenever I'm online I always act very cautiously as to not piss off older players (sometimes not communicating at all), because people seem to assume young = immature, which is a lot of the time true, but you have to give people a chance. :< I don't feel comfortable using a microphone because of this, which I guess is fortunate for older players. :p

I'm in that age group but not for much longer. Luckily I never play COD and hardly play Halo 3 or Reach anymore so no one can really group me into the high pitch n-word saying group. Plus I can't really say the n-word I'm to much of a goody goody.

that particular age group would do best to stay away from the mic. yell at the screen if needed, i just don't want to be reminded of how many times i've yelled 'WTF was that!?' when i was at that age.

and you shouldn't be fucking playing call of duty either ... it's m ... where are your parents!?

I am soon going to enter my 16th year here on this world so i'm glad to leave this group which are normally despised by some gamers and I started gaming at the age of 7, the first game I played then was on the SW: JK2 on the Gamecube and playing it for a little while I often kicked my brothers ass when we played multiplayer.

I play online FPS sometimes like L4D, but I've never used a mic cuz if they heard my voice then would probably kicked me out the fun thing is that I was usually better than the others and we played on advanced

I'm one of them, but I don't use my mic in online.

I am a quiet gamer.

I really only use my mic to talk to my friends when they get on... which is like... never.
