I'm 14 and i've never met one of those little bitches before. Maybe it's just because I play on PSN where the only people with headsets are adults who 99.99999999999% of the time speak a different language anyway (and that's only on MW2)

P.S: OP, why not just say ****** instead of "the N-word"? It's not a naughty, forbidden word you absolutely cannot say ever, it's only rascist if you use in in a rascist context. Unrelated to topic completely but it's something I've been thinking about all day.

The problem with teenage gamers is that they ruin online gaming. Back then, when online gaming was something only a few could dream about, kids grew up with their games in their houses and kept their screams and annoyances to their family, who had to suffer them.

But now we all have to fucking do it and god it is getting tiring. They'll learn to not be retarded eventually, but yeah, I don't want to raise a kid when his parents should be the ones doing it.

Also frankly although 10-15 year old can enjoy playing such games with each other, anyone 16-60 find you annoying as all hell due to in general your:
-gaming incompetence, relying on dumb tactics
-verbal immaturity
-poor grasp of good gamesmanship
-terrible sense of entitlement

[HEADING=2]I know there are exceptions, there are 12 year old that are mature and 30 year old that are immature, but generally those are so few and far between they get quashed out.[/HEADING]
(*edited ONLY to add emphasis)
Sorry, but that's very general of you let's see;

1.Cheap Tactics.. Uhmm, anyone can do this? I think the cheapest tactic I've done was noob tube spam in MW2, but if someone came into my camp building I would still take them out without stopping power easily..
2. Verbal immaturity, again this applies to everyone, it doesn't help that we have a bunch of 13 year old kids screaming "OMFG YOU TOTAL NOOB YOU FUCK NUT BLAH FUCKING BLAH BLAH" but I've had a 27 year old say something surprisingly similar

3. Poor grasp.. Nope, if I get beat I can accept it, and can applaud the other team for doing it, I think my worst spin of this was when (In a game of L4D2) someone follows my halo (before I spawned) for a good 25 seconds, like, all over a building and up 2 walls, then said we sucked when he OBVIOUSLY had something running there..

4. Terrible - ok this one dose apply to the younger generation a bit more..

as for there not being many level headed kids? Uhmm there is a lot, we just know to stay away from game chat, where we will be labelled "those kids" and slandered the entire match.

I've never seen someone who games seriously take notice of ratings either..
maybe I should add:
-can't read forum posts in their entirety

I DID say this was general and you have just cited a load a few-and-far-between examples, mainly of yourself rather than any large group of 10 year olds.

Is it really any surprise that young kids are less mature than older-teens and adult gamers? ]

My main objection is having to play with them online, I don't have a problem with them playing them game against others their own age, I just down't want to play WITH them. There is a reason that schools have separate recreational area for younger and older students if not completely different schools.

Eh, as long as they aren't annoying, I don't mind them, and I myself am 15. I don't think it's fair to stereotype by age, as I have met more annoying 20 year olds than 15 or below. I've always thought there should be a maturity test instead of age ratings.

I'm cool with them so long as they act like rational human beings. I know a 15 year old kid who I frequently partner up with on Left 4 Dead, and she's rather nice to work with.

I did read that, but I had to state that there ARE more than you think, WHY? What have you got against them? A high pitched voice? You had one once, and, depending on your gender, still have one. A lack of skill? Please - not to toot my own horn but my win/loss ratio in most games is above 1. If it's for language only I don't want to play against anyone that discriminates against a group because of a select few within that group.
How do you know "how many" that I thinking of?

You're just being contrarian.

My problem with little kids is they swear and use such strong language with NO IDEA what they mean by their words, it utterly devalues these words and makes them meaningless. They are supposed to be used sparingly when you are genuinely mad, little kids use them as a tool to get their own way, a modification of a crying tantrum. SO FEW mature teens/adults have such little self respect to resort to such cheap shit.

incompetence =/= lack of skill

little kids clearly have good reflexes but they ARE dumb (it's a scientific fact, look at how IQ is ranked) and so depend on simple noobish tactics.

"anyone that discriminates against a group because of a select few within that group."

You wish I judged by the select FEW of little kids who had the maturity to play such violently competitive games. I am judging by the majority.

Ideally, little kids should be segregated from all other gamers and ONLY the select few who have demonstrated maturity can play with the big boys. Don't be a simpleton and say all segregation is bad, you try walking into a woman's shower and telling them that segregation of men's and women's showers is wrong. That is obviously a case where segregation is appropriate.

I don't playing with immature or "retarded" players that drag down my team or take the fun out of a game. Not everyone within the 10-15 age group are immature or retarded therefore I will play with them if they do not exhibit those qualities.

I'm 15 and I absolutely hate those little kids who never shut the hell up and make the rest of us look like idiots. Generally, I'm the first one to tell them to shut the hell up. I've never really had this problem on WoW because I'm really the only person under 18 that I know.

Although it's easy to demonize the little brat demographic, there is no age group that is completely devoid of the prats the make us all look bad. There was a funny moment when I was on Bulletstorm the other week where inbetween one of the rounds where someone was yelling over the mic (note in the interest of keeping it clean the more offensive words have been replaced with more younger friendly alternatives):

[Dickhead]: Hey Zephyr you flipping fag stop kill stealing you flipping fatherloving penis. If you flipping steal one of my kills again with you pooing fag ways i'll hunt you down and flipping beat you to death and enjoy the company of your mother.

[Other Player]: Stop being a dickhead and learn the rules or go back to Call of Duty. We just want to do well in the game here.

Funny thing was the dickhead sounded to be about thirty and the other player sounded to be about 12. Made me reassess my entire opinion on age of gamer against maturity.

Since i'm 14, i try to be a bit more mature, and not swear like a f**kin sailor, or complain a bout the game I paid 60 bucks for. But sometimes people stil go "Shut the f**k up you six year old c*nt"

I'm a console player...and I rarely play multiplayer...and when I do, it is often a) with people I know (who aren't 10-15--because I'm 38 and I don't hang out with 10-15 year olds), or b) games like Spades or Carcassone...doesn't tend attract yelling or screaming.

So generally I have no opinion on younger gamers, because I don't interact with them.

Some of the few times I did interact with them would be on the RP servers of WoW. I actually would prefer an 18+ server on WoW...not because I don't want to hang with 10-15 year olds, but mainly because I think it would be safer for the 10-15 year olds.

From my Modern Warfare experience, The loudest ones on microphone dont seem to realise that they are muted in about 6 seconds after appearing in the lobby... God bless that function!
Sometimes I even feel the need to PM them this fact in the hope of sparing their little lungs but I only get a reply that could have been written by a doped up black gangster with fat fingers...

As for the squeaky loud-mouth's game play, I'll be honest and say that I have rarely seen them at the bottom, they always seem to get alot of kills in, either the nippy fuckers are just really quick with their fingers or they all camp in bushes like pussies, I cant really tell..

They have their place.

Anyone younger than 20 and i try to avoid them. But then i play WoW and not CoD and we still use the N word like it's going out of style. Only in game tho for some reason. I have no opinion on you guys cos you are rare in WoW unless your parents are paying monthly for you to game in which case they are pretty effing cool. Gamers are gamers... im not sure age comes into it in most games unless you draw attention to your age.
I disagree, once kids get into highschool most of them grow up and stop being so childish while playing games (I say most because I have a friend, same age as me (18), who still screams swears at people when he dies...)

Considering COD and Gears are rated M I think the parents need to be more involved when I see / hear them playing online.

Well since I used to be that age group a while ago I harbor no hate towards the entire age group. Now, if I'm in a game where theres someone being completely obnoxious I'll hate them. A lot of times its that age group, but theres plenty of times its older people as well.

Sorry for being a PC fanboy, but I love playing FPS on PC (Not just because of the mouse and keyboard) but because they allow dedicated servers that can be modded. I just go around finding a mature server, and when ever some immature guy comes onto the server we just /votekick them or let the admin handle it, easy. Don't know why consoles don't have dedicated servers anymore....
Yeah, agreed. The simple addition of servers and admins/mods to regulate the community is superb. Plus, console kiddies can rarely afford a good PC or be bothered to use a mouse/keyboard. Not shunning the whole console community - I still play mine a lot, but the PC community is insurmountably better.
