I wouldnt be the first to think a Zelda movie (if done right) would kick ass...
This, definitely. Also Metroid Prime, if done right, with good voices.
Hey, I'm just waiting for a Metroid game in general. If they do make them, I'll be waiting for Metroid Prime 1 & 3.

Not much of a Zelda fan, but hey, to each their own....
Wait, what? Have you only played MP2? If you have, they're releasing all three games on a single disk with MP3 style controls for MP1/2.

Personally, I think Metroid lends itself to movies better than most other games because there isn't some long convoluted plot to squeeze in. It's kind of structured like Aliens, where the protagonist lands, explore for a bit, shit gets real, then they fight with a giant alien. Since you don't have to squeeze in a bunch of characters, you can just have Samus shooting space pirates while she collects stuff, then fights Ridley and Mother Brain.

As long as they don't give her a random, pointless love interest, you could have a pretty good action movie.
Silly Random, every movie has to have a stapled on romance sub-plot to even count -admonishes-
extra points for the director if they manage to shove in a SamusXRiley romance
AHHHHHHH! NO! Bad Squirrel! We don't need any Samus/Ridely shipping.

My brain is bleeding now, I hope you're happy.

1. I am, very happy indeed
2. you know there probably if a fan fiction of that shipping, after all GrievousXShaak Ti managed to be shipped and they are only slightly less of a crime against nature than SamusXRidely.
3. I could probably give a couple of lines from a supposed fan fiction even XD

1) HALO- it's essentialy an action movie to begin with, so it would translate perfectly to the silver screen.

2) Bioshock- with a good director, that could be very interesting.

3) The Darkness- very good story, with a lot of great, creepy action.

(Just one thing, NO HALF-LIFE MOVIES!) If they made one, they would give Gordon a voice, and that alone would destroy about half of the games.

I would love a movie (movies) of the Kingdom Heart's series. The problem I think would be that they'd be limited in what they could show and lose some of the impact of certain events.

Other than Final Fantasy VII the list isn't entirely bad.

Devil May Cry- I think this could be a pretty decent Michael bay style popcorn flick. I'm not a fan of Bay, or popcorn flicks, but he does what he does pretty well. Emile Hirsch is idiotic to me though. Not he as an actor, I like him, just not as Dante. I could see Ryan Reynolds pulling it off though. James Marsden could do Virgil if he played it similar to how he played Cyclops in the X-Men movies.

Metal Gear- I almost entirely agree with them on this one. Bale is probably the 3rd or 4th best actor currently working. Just scratch the love story sub-plot and I'd be happy to see it.

BioShock- This is easily one of my 5 favorite games ever. I think if done right it could do for video game movies what The Dark Knight did for comic book movies, which is force people to tale them seriously. Jake Gyllenhaal would be great. Danial Craig would be great in it as a villain as well. On the other side, if this was done wrong, even slightly, it would be a joke. It would be easy to make Rapture into a cheesy parody of the 50's if mess it up.

Legend of Zelda- First off the costume would look cheesy as hell if they didn't tone it down a bit. The green would need to look more like it does in the new Zelda, not so much the bright colors from the OoT period. Not a fan of Leo in this role, this is actually one I could see them putting Emile Hirsch in instead of DMC.

Castlevania- I agree that vampires are where it's at right now, sadly the vampires that are hot right now are a romanticized version of what you would probably see in Castlevania. I think instead of being a camped up version they should tone it down and make it more character driven. The exact opposite of campy. Make it about Simon, why he is going, alone, into the castle. What he stands to gain from it, and what was so important to send him there. I'd take Hugh Jackman over Ryan Reynolds in this, mainly because Ryan is already starring in my DMC movie.

Oregon Trail- They should just put Danial Day Lewis in a Donner Party movie and call it a day.

Grand Theft Auto- I'd just pass all together on this.

Fallout- Yep. Make it. Just the way they want to.

FFVII- Nope. Don't make it. Ever.

Infamous- I guess.

does anyone remember the scam a few years back with the 'zelda trailer'.
This.

A Zelda movie would be awesome. Even if it was bad, i'd still see the damn thing just because its a Zelda movie.

IF F.E.A.R. was done correctly, i think it would make a rather excellent horror movie, but alas, no such thing will happen.
Wouldn't work, unfortunately. FEAR worked because we were invested in the character, despite him barely being a character at all. That doesn't work in film, so they'd have to either:
A)Flesh out the Pointman as a character
or
B)Scrap the pointman and have it based on Jin or Holiday, or some original characters

Neither of those will work; for the first, it would ruin many memories of the Pointman, as he would inevitably be different from many people's notions of how he was. For the second, he (as Alma's son) was essential to the story, so they can't get rid of him.

EDIT:

Sly Cooper

The character is great, the backstory is fun, and set it in Paris where the game was at it's best.

Monkey Island

Once you got to Curse it was very similar to an animated film, this wouldn't be that big of a jump. Hopefully the new entries will resurrect the series and this might happen.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will just be another shitty "gansta" movie. I do like the idea of Bioshock and Fallout as movies.

I think Deus Ex would make a good movie even though the game is pretty old...

While I do think you hit the problem with making a F.E.A.R movie right on the head, making such a movie isn't out the realm of possibility. If I reamember correctly the movie Doom was able to make Doom-man (that's his name, right?) into a fleshy character with a sister and everything, so if they could make him "human" why not pointman?

However in the case of Alma and any of her apperances in the movie, I fear (no pun intended) that an idiot director or writer would make her too much like a Ring or Grudge rip off. Now I am aware that she is a ghost and moves like her ghosty "cousins", but if they mess up her back story so that they are practiclly the same then its obvious that it will turn away serious fans of the series

some things have potential there but the only one that would work would be bioshock, even then that could fail and ruin a perfectly good game, leave games as games
