It's weird that only one other person has wondered this, but....How?

I mean, even with my normal, adult-sized arse I don't think I could fit a Wiimote up there; even if it was lubed within an inch of its life.

OT: Whatever happened to psychological warfare, playing kids at their own game. He should have done the classic 'your mum and dad aren't your real parents' and left it at that.

Okay, people need to calm the hell down and get off my back. I'm not the dude that raped the kid, so don't take your disgust with this article out on me. All I'm saying is that I'm sick of little kids mouthing off because they know the adults can't do anything to them. Afterall, hitting them will only get you a prison sentence. And yes, it's probably the parents' fault for not raising their kids proper.
But the simple fact is that if the kid hadn't been making fun of the guy, that never would've happened. He could have avoided it.
Which is you essentially blaming the kid for his rape, which is why everyone is so disgusted.

People shouldn't behave to avoid rape, for fuck's sake. People shouldn't only behave well because otherwise they'll get punished. That is a ridiculous and childish view that admits, as another poster mentioned, that they simply can't control kids.

I mean, let's try and imagine what this kid could possibly have said to warrant an attack of any kind. I honestly can't think of anything. I don't think anything a kid said to me would move me to violence, and I have Xbox Live! Being teased by a kid is like being taunted by a monkey, I can go out, party, drink, get laid...the kid has to do homework and go to bed early. Why would I care what they think?

I know you're not the rapist, as does everyone else, but it doesn't change the fact that you said something stupid. People are naturally going to call you out on that.

Folks, just take a second to read the story now we've had a debate about it....

Investigators say Parry was at a house where four boys, ages 12 and 13, were having a sleepover.
So there were 4 of them. And none of them thought to help their "friend" out?

The act was witnessed by the other boys. The parents of the boy who was having the sleepover were asleep upstairs,
So not only am I expected to believe that 3 kids sat and watched their "friend" get a Wii remote introduced to him intimately but that the parents of one of the boys were also in the house and heard nothing.

Pretty sure, at the very least, one of the kids would have woke them up.

Parry allegedly confessed what he had done the next day to a neighbor who called police.
So not only did they not wake the parents or inform the police, i'm expected to believe he told a neighbour who then called the police.

I can get a faint odour of bullshit from this story.

Sigh...nintendo already came with that protective cover for wiimotes that makes em look like toys of mentally handicapped chimpanzees, I seriously hope they won't be selling us wiimote condoms next >_>.

"This is a gaming controller but if you will be molesting yourself and your acquaintances with it Nintendo wishes you do to it with the utmost levels of protection that are possible. Update your wiimote plus into wiimote plus fire and ice for a cooling and tingling sensation, free of charge!"

Sigh....

Did he "rape" him, or did he rape him? What I mean to say, to put it bluntly, did he rape the kid, or did he just try to shove the wii mote down the kid's mouthy throat, and they're just categorizing it as a "rape act" after the fact...

the latter I could at least sort of get a frame of reference for understanding....
~~

as somebody else said earlier on in this thread, I too catch a faint whiff of bullshit from this story...

I don't know what's more disgusting: yet another adult who deals with a little teasing by abusing a child, or yet another pile of people who think the child deserved to be abused because he was a bit mouthy. No. No child ever deserves to be strangled or raped because he was a bit mouthy, and if you think otherwise you are just as bad as the guy who strangled a kid over losing at Call of Duty or the person in this story who raped a child with a Wii Remote.

The most a kid deserves for bad behavior is a spanking? Rape? Strangulation? Absolutely not, and you're messed up if you would either punish a kid that way or condone punishing a child that way.

Absolutely not. You're not the dude who raped that kid, but you're saying that the kid deserved it which makes you nearly as disgusting as the rapist. What's next, are you going to tell women that it's their fault when they get raped because of what they were wearing? It is never the victim's fault in a rape case, and to even imply that it is is purely disgusting. So no, I will not calm the hell down and get off your back. You could have avoided all of this outrage by not implying that you think the kid deserves to be raped or that he could have avoided being rape, and unlike your completely illogical assertion, avoiding saying something stupid is a far more reasonable thing to ask of someone than telling them to avoid being raped.

The sad fact is that if he'd have just raped the poor kid it would not have got the same sort of press coverage and we certainly wouldn't have been discussing it. Add a gaming peripheral and suddenly it's related to gaming culture.

Sad, sad state of affairs.

The attacker needs to be committed, if you are 26 and you react to a mouthy 12yo in this way you are a long way from mentally sound.

Ignoring the severity of what actually happened, I find the image at the head of the article really, really disturbing for some reason. Why not just go with a mugshot of the guy or something? Why did you have to show an extreme close-up of a hand holding a wii-mote?

Oh, ok, here's something to talk about:

There have been so many cases of things like this where the kids were afraid to speak up about it. Maybe fear of reprisal from the actual guy, or an idea that they were in the wrong for 'teasing' him, whatever they actually did... I mean, I can't say I understand exactly the motive behind them not going to the parents for help, but I do know that it happens a lot.

Let's see how many funny comments we can make in twenty seconds.

"Have you not heard of Wii Sports: brutal difficulty?"
"This is a great idea. I always have trouble finding my remote."
"That is not how you calibrate the sensors..."
"This wouldn't have happened if you just kept the wrist-strap on."
"Looks like Nintendo found a new idea for their next game launch."
"I've heard the Wii's motion control handled like ass."
"At least it's not an N64 controller."

I would have thought that having a wiimote stuck up your ass would be very painful, and the child would have screamed or something. Wouldn't that have woken up the parents? I also don't understand why one of the kids didn't run upstairs to inform the parents but just watched this whole event unfold in front of them. If this story really happened then to say it is a terrible thing is an understatement, but at the moment I have a little bit of trouble believing this happened.

Dear God! Everything is now a phallic weapon.

OT: Dunno what to say, overall a sad story concerning both parties.

It sounds to me like the man was some sort of pedophile rapist, and his defence is "Uh... they teased me! They deserved it!"
So whether or not they were "making fun of the guy" was probably irrelevant. Responding by grabbing a kid, unbuckling his belt, pulling down his pants, yanking off his underwear, pinning him down while he tries to struggle and shoving a controller up his ass is not in any way a justifiable response to anything, even when drunk.

And I thought the PlayStation Move controller looked like bad...
I'm surprised there's no console war in this threat. I mean, PS-Move really seems better sueted for that, while Kinnect is useless in this case. At least if you use it correctly. Does anyone know whether he used a Wii-mote Plus?

In all seriousness: This is just disgusting. If it happened I hope that guy get's punished.

Umm...okay, that's just sick, twisted and incredibly disturbing.
I agree with you. I mean, throw it at him I can understand, but to rape him with it... just.. what?
