It was bad enough that the 15-year-old girl decided to go to a party in Trenton, New Jersey and offer her own body for sale. Even worse is that she brought along her 7-year-old sister, putting her up to be gang-raped for money as well...

It began Sunday night, when the the older girl brought her sister to a party on the 13th floor of the Rowan Towers apartment complex. Police believe as many as 12-15 boys and men were in attendance.

The 15-year-old decided to whore herself for money in a bedroom with multiple partners, leaving her little sister in the living room. When she emerged, she showed her sister a wad of cash and told her to offer it up as well.

Police believe 5-7 men and boys held the little girl down, then proceeded to gang rape her. They told her they would kill her if she screamed or told anyone.

The 15-year-old girl collected money and watched her little sister get raped, urging her to perform for the men.

When the little girl was finally let go, two people found her outside the building crying. They escorted her home, where police were already waiting. The girls' parents had already called the cops, worried that the older daughter had run away and taken the 7-year-old with her. That's when the younger girl admitted she'd been raped.

When police found the 15-year-old, she too admitted to the incident. She's been charged with sexual assault, criminal restraint, terroristic threats, prostitution, and child endangerment. Now police are left to look for the men and boys who attended the party. Trenton police say more arrests are imminent.

Discussion: What do you think went on in the 15 year old's mind when she was doing this? Is money that valuable to let yourself be sexed up, not to mention your own sister?! I'm sure she was going to take her sister's earnings. Do you think kids should be tried as adults when it comes to sexual crimes or the endangerment of someone else?

You can't rape the willing. Assuming the boys at the party were teenagers like her, the only one raped here was the 7 year old, who wasn't old enough to consent even if she did say yes. Edit: In my opinion, that 15 year old girl was old enough to give consent. But no, I have not had sex with anyone under 18, in case you are wondering.

Moving on- the 15 year old girl should be sent to prison, no question. The men and boys who did it with the 7 year old girl as well. But the teenage boys who did it *only* with the 15 year old are only guilty of paying for sex, which shouldn't be a crime in the first place. According to this article roughly half the boys didn't have sex with the 7 year old girl, and only had consensual sex with the 15 year old. They should go free. The ones who raped the 7 year old and the 15 year old girl should go to prison.

I'm not sure about over there in the states, but as a British citizen, I would say all this talk of 'jail them for life and let them burn in hell and die and then burn some more etc.' is a tad regressive.

As far as the justice system is concerned, reformation should always be placed far beyond punishment. I mean, what these men, and this girl, did, is terrible, but throwing away the key accomplishes nothing.

Take them all to jail, and let them free when it can be proven that they are no longer a danger to themselves and those around them- simple as. One life has already been 'ruined', why ruin any more? People can change, and people will change. They'll have to live with their mistakes and the guilt that accompanies those mistakes for a lifetime- get the reformation part right, and that should be 'punishment' enough.

I suppose that is acceptable at times, maybe even in this case. But lets say that they find some of the men at this party are serial pedophiles? That they rape children on a regular biases?

I live in Florida, and for whatever reason, plenty of pedos who get caught and 'reformed' in other states move down here and just start up again. Can I still feel that they should be taken out for public execution?

That's where the problems start to show. It's a case of knowing when someone has been reformed and whether to let them go or not. There's also the occasional case where someone cannot be changed, whether it be due to a mental condition or simply an extreme defecit of morals.

Yet it still beats practically condemning someone to death- all the people involved in this case should at least be given the chance to start again. In my opinion, if the fifteen year old were to go to prison and be released a week later, truly reformed and remorseful, then all the better.

Hell, if I were to be murdered tommorrow, and my murderer released from jail ten weeks later, genuinely guilty and reintegrated into society, I'd harbour no grudges (not least because i'd be dead)- i'd rather my death be met with a 'birth' (or rebirth, rather), than another arbitrary death (as would be the case with capital punishment).

If I recall there was a answer to your question in a Law and Order SVU episode. A judge would try every teenager/minor who did commit a sex crime as an adult. Long story short the judge was corrupt. But I say for what she did to her sister yes she should be tried as an adult.
