Finland:

1. Saku Koivu (ice hockey)
2. Sami Hyypiä (football)
3. Martti Ahtisaari (Nobel peace prize 2008)
Simo Häyhä, DUH. The fucking White Death.
Was thinking of more recent accomplishments, but I can't resist to do another list:

1. Simo Häyhä (war hero, also known as White Death)
2. Sibelius (composer)
3. Paavo Nurmi (athlete)
4. Linus Torvalds
I don't know if we should consider killing lots of russians as "contributing to the world". :p

Sibelius I agree with, and Linus Torvalds. How about A.I. Virtanen, of AIV fodder fame? Also won a Nobel.

I guess it's not as much contributing as demonstrating what a single soldier can do, perhaps?
I did forget to include A.I. Virtanen, and he certainly did contribute.

Canada:

Ray Muzyka (One founder of BioWare. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned him yet)

Lester B. Pearson (created the idea of a UN Peacekeeping Force)

Mike Myers (That's right. Although, I could list of many, many Canadian comedians)

Great Britain but more specifically Wales which means I have a challenge on my hands.

David Lloyd George - Prime Minister of Britain 1916-1922
William Hughes - The Prime Minister of Australia during WWI but a first generation Welsh immigrant (Also a not too distant relative of mine)
Oliver Cromwell - He was of Welsh decent so I guess that counts

Man... That was difficult

God said:
All he does is insult the Germans. Hardly a gift to the human race.
But surely then all he's contributed to is you, not the world.
At the very best, he's "contributed" to Britain.

Urgh, I feel a bit sick after writing that.

Since I'm from Sweden, I'll go all-Swe on yo ass:

1. Alfred Nobel, for inventing dynamite. He raised a shitload of money which is now the fund that the Nobel Prize money comes from.

2. Baron Jöns Jakob Berzelius, the chemist who introduced the world to the periodic table [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_table], which 'til today still is almost 100% correct.

3. John Ericson, the man who wrote some book about that the energy that the sun produces can be converted into "solar energy", I'm sure you've heard of it. He was also engaged in lots of other stuff such as digging the "Göta Kanal" and failing to produce a helicopter and instead creating the first motor boat. The irony is that his book on solar energy didn't really become an object of interest until about 100 years after his death.
