Hey there. I own a good gaming PC, a really good one, but lately it seems that a lot of games isn't coming out on the PC. My question is to you who have both a good PC and an Xbox 360, is it worth to have both?
I'm a little short on cash, so i'll have to think it through before i buy my 360. Is it worth it, or do you wish you hadn't bought yours?

Don't get a 360, Most exslusives will just come to the PC. The ps3 is a better choice though for only 100$ more.

I have both, I think its more then worth it.

Many games just do not play right on a PC, In my opinion. FPS play a little better on a PC, and I wouldn't even think of playing a RTS on a console. On the other hand action games like devil may cry,or driving games like GTA, or platformers like mario, tomb raider play a lot better on consoles then PCs.

I wouldn't advise you to get a PS3 unless you really want to play their game list, but Bulletinmybrain's right when he says that most of the exclusives will come to PC later. I've got a good PC and a 360, but I use the PC for multiplayer games like CoD4 and TF2 and the 360 for the slower ones like GoW and Guitar Hero.

Having a console is a pretty good idea, but carefully consider your preference in game genres before you pick one. Incidentally, what type of game are you most interested in?

Just look up the upcoming exclusives for each console; there should be more than enough to wet your appetite. Decide what console you want entirely on the games they offer, and nothing else. Don't let the fanboys get to you!

Edit: To the guy above; not if he decides to purchase xbox live. Remember, Sony online is free.

Hell the ps3 is as cheap as a 360 elite I thought? And you still have to pay for online with that thing. And the fact it seems a new xbox is in the works called the xbox 520 which my guess it will be a overpriced peice of shit that has a blu-ray player but it raises the price to 400-500$.

Im getting an Xbox 360, that was decided from the start. What im asking is if having a gaming PC and an xbox is worth it, and i think Squarewave made a good point.
I don't care about online so im getting the cheapest one.

They make a 360 Controller you can plug into a PC, so this is largely a non-issue.

Nintendo and Sony's platforms both have more console-exclusive platformers and driving games and stuff.

You're already getting a 360.
However, it is not worth it if you have a good PC.
Therefore, you chose... poorly.

You can actually plug any wired 360 controller into a PC, since it's just a USB controller. The only difference with the PC specific one is that you get a driver CD with it (not really important if you have an internet connection though).

Yea you can plug a 360 controller into a PC, too bad only a very very small amount of games support controllers, and even less support them well. Things like joy2key, xpadder and other joystick > keyboard mappers can sometimes help but most of the time it ends up a clunky uncontrollable mess. There have been some adoption of the 360 controller do to the amount of 360 > pc ports however.

But yea, the PS3 has more console centric type games

If u have the money buy the 360 and PS3. But obviously most people don't have that much money. I myself have a 360 and thought I'd never want a PS3 as long as I live but thing I watched E3 and saw, Resistance 2, M.A.G, Little Big Planet and others I really wanted one. So, you might pick your console based on there exclusive games, but the next year the other console will have better games. So what I'm trying to say is year after year one console may become better than the one u thought was originally the best.

I was originally a PC gamer but games started coming out that wouldn't work on my PC, and being 14, my parents wouldn't upgrade are PC. And I think there's a lot of games out or coming out for the PC like Spore, World In Conflict, Company Of Heroes, S.T.A.L.K.E.R clear sky, and Crysis. So if you have the money I'd say upgrade your PC and use the money you'd use to be a console by all the great PC games coming out.

You really don't need a 360 and a PC as they are very similar. If I where you I would go for the Wii as it is the opposite to a top end gaming PC. Or save your money and upgrade when you need to.
