"4. Like a Hollywood block buster, in the worst way". Games should be about gameplay, not cutscenes. Games often think they are films. They aren't.
MGS4 is possibly the worst offender in this way I've ever encountered. Kojima thinks he's a film director, but deep down he knows that much of what he wants to creates would never make it into even an average Hollywood film...which is why he keeps on making games.
And I agree, eher did those zombie soldiers in the chase sequence come from?
Good review, BTW!
From what I cant tell liquid broke there brains or something.
The SOP system had gone offline again, to protect itself from Liquids attempt to gain entrance through the use of his own DNA as an access key, and with the SOP system going offline, so too did the emotion suppression side-effects. Each and every soldier was feeling the full weight of what they had done - all the stress, all the guilt, all the sorrow, the rage and the terror. It was destroying them, and driving them insane, into an almost animalistic state. Hence, blindly attacking, but almost crippled - a description that just happens to coincide with that of zombies.
Liquid broke there brains? Didn't I just say that just without dumping the whole story into it?

Good review Doctorpus, I agree with most of your points all though I've got to say thats the reason I like the game lol. Its mix of drama and occasional cheesy-ness was exactly what I was looking for.

I especially agree that Snake shouldn't have gone off to live with Otacaon or whatever he was going to do, but I also don't think he should have committed suicide, I reckon it would have been better if the last bit of audio you heard was Snake going off to some far flung battle or something and then just gunfire, like 'cause he has always been a soldier thats the way hes going to die.

You're very correct, I had to "work" to enjoy the story by overlooking some of the flaws. Your criticisms are pretty dead on.
