40k: Dark Millenium MMO; first playable race announced

It's the Imperium of Man. From what the video says, it sounds like the classes for this faction will be Imperial guardsman, Space Marine and Texhpriest, although that's largely speculation. Looks pretty good, no idea how they'll balance it while remaining fairly true to the lore.

Did they mention that if you choose Guard you get 20 playable guys versus the one if you go Marine? Because even then, it's not even fair.

Why would I want to be a space marine when I could be an inquisitor? Space Marines can't order exterminatus

Well, I wouldn't neccecarily want to place as a space marine. But I would love to play as a Plague Marine.

I'd say it's failry interesting that they're going with The Imperium as a single race rather than splitting them into multiple different factions. No need to shoot the messenger.

Techpriest sounds awesome and unexpected to me...others not so much.

I wonder if they're going with the "Old Republic" defense for putting guardsmen and Spess Mehrens on a level here; playing as guardsman you're a high-ranking badass, playing as a marine you're a 'regular' battle brother. The expanded universe has more than a few normal humans who can take on Space Marines, they just aren't the schmucks armed with only a t-shirt and a flashlight lasgun and a flak vest.

Nice looking trailer, I specifically like how they showed some gameplay. I'm looking at you Dragon Age 2. The game itself looks pretty damn fun, looks like it utilizes a cover system, and it seems to look fast paced enough that there won't be a huge grind.

I hope I can be a Blood Angel..

Might not be surprising that marines are in the game but a least it looks good so far

I motherfucking agree! I hope there are 2 other 'races' for the Imperium of Man...I am thinking some sort of DPS in the form of a Sisters of Battle and a ranged dude in the form of an Inquisitor
