5 Reason why Skyrim will be the Game of The Year

I've never liked the Elder Scrolls combat system. "Swing your sword back and forth till the enemy dies" is not fun. I could do magic, sure, but I've always been a melee guy. Unless Skyrim has a MUCH improved combat system, I don't care if it's Game of the Year or Game of the Century, I'm not buying it.

Em how do you plan to revolutionise this shooting system? Maybe hold the gun sideways? There is only so much you can do with guns but there is so much more you can do with swords aside from hold up shield and wait for strike then 2 normal hits or 1 power hit.

I think my brain hurts at that statement. Your point was BF 3 will be more fun than MW 3. This doesn't prove your point. Did you even bother to read my post? I never said anything about which is better. I said the guy before me comparing BF3 and MW3 was asking for a flame war.

Nowhere in my post did I 'slag CoD' you just wished so hard that I did I guess? There's really no other explanation. There's literally nothing in my post that says that, or be taken that way except for by someone who wants to insert it there.

It's not out yet, nobody has even played it and it's already being rated game of the year. It's the top rated game when I turn on my 360.

Damnit people, seriously. Wait until the game is out to make that call.

My sentiments exactly. It's stupid to claim anything will be Game of the Year when no one has even played it.

For example I am a huge fan of the Batman series and I am really excited for Arkham City but I won't claim that it will be Game of the Year. You make the call when you've played it and you see the reations of everyone else.

Again, like Cridhe said, this isn't a hate post. I just don't like the idea of premature declarations.

Really you are going to basically call me a retard who flamed you because I misread a quote. Yes that is quite mature. If you really think that I was flaming I do also have to question your literacy skills as well as if you are just looking for a fight.

I even said what the other said was wrong and previous point still stands what he did not prove your point as that was not your point to begin with. Now since you want to be obtuse and go around calling people names your point was "What did that have to do with BF?" Yes? The person said was "I take it you are a BF fan" which to be honest is a perfectly fine assumption given that BF fans tend to love to get digs in at CoD at every chance they get. CoD fans do the same. He then preceded to say that MW3 looks better than BF 3 which is his opinion on the current info out and is perfectly valid which is no more inflammatory than the comment before his.

So yes points for pointless baseless statements. Just because someone takes time to defend something does not make them a fan. Personally I think BF 3 looks better than MW3 as it stands at the moment so I suppose that means I suck Kotick's dick then doesn't it? I've been around long enough to know those users weren't out and out looking for a flame war but being a tad opinionated or rather liberal at expressing their opinions.

I really, really hate it when people go into orgasm over Skyrim. They seem to be forgetting just how awful the Elder Scrolls has been up till now. Morrowind was the best, as it was unique. Oblivion was just a generic trot through miles of copy-pasted English countryside broken up by scaled enemies and conversations with horrifying, dead-eyed NPC's that looked as if the head animator had discovered a tome on necromancy in his basement and decided to save himself a lot of pay checks. For some inane reason or other, Oblivion still made heaps of money. So Bethesda, that wallowing turd of a games company, has no reason to break free of the mould that gets them so much free gamer pussy.

Yeh its definitely public consensus that elder scrolls sucks, as I recall they've all been extremely popular, and amazing. We have no reason to believe that bethesda Won't deliver an amazing experience again

Skyrim needs modding. Give it couple months and then look again.

There are many games that have the Game of the Year label attached to them. But do they deserve it?

It may be beyond a shadow of a doubt that Skyrim is going to be a helluva lot better than Oblivion, but personally I'm hoping that Saints Row 3 will earn the title GOTY, for it's blatant disregard of realism, mature and intelligent rationalization, and underwear.

Skyrim will be neat. It will look pretty. It will feel enjoyable. But every time I see the DUAL TRIGGER ACTION of spell casting, all I can think is ''Pew pew pew!'', and be reminded of the first time we were allowed to dual-wield Plasma Rifles in Halo 2.

Gotta agree with this guy, chill out people the last thing anyone wants is another dragonage 2 scenario. DA 2 was decent but since it did not live up to the insane hype it was crucified by the very people declaring it game of the year months before its release. Not hating on anyone looking forward to the game, just take it easy.

I have one question.

During a battle you?re having with wandering giants, a dragon swoops in and before you have a chance to react, picks up the giant up and pulls him hundreds of feet in the air before dropping him to his death.

The dragon then flies off, slowly arcs around and thuds down in front of you before snorting fire your way while the screen is still shaking. A nearby adventurer gets involved and while the fight is going on, the dragon snaps at him, eats him and throws the body away with a quick yank of his head, the adventurer?s shield and sword sent flying. All this happens while the battle continues in real time without any obvious sign of the scripting. It is a genuinely jaw-dropping moment.

Has ANY of this been proven? Until it has, I'm going to call shenanigans.

Im sorry but how did your mass effect story go, in mine it concluded that shepherd beat the reapers but was left to prepare for the climactic battle in the third game, how did yours end?
