Oh look, "Big Robots and Explosions 3" please excuse me if I don't shit myself with excitement over what is sure to be yet another mediocre movie.

BUt... but... There's no Megan Fox. Surely that will fix EVERYTHING, right?

Anyway, I gave up on Transformers after... well... Actually half way through transformers one, but my hopes where given an extra 6 feet to dig itsef out of his graves.

EDIT: so as not to be bay bashing, Its not really about micheal bay, though thats a large part of it, its just... i dont know. Its just not visually appealing. The Robots are ugly, and something about Fox always turned off. But like i siad, she's (supposed to be) out, so that should make it a little better.

... Besides. The Racial stereotyping robots in 2 didnt help anything.

Honestly, the only reason why I watch Transformers is to see giant robots beat the oil out of each other. [sub]And so I can pretend its Megas doing the bashing.[sub]I miss Megas![/sub][/sub] This doesn't look like it'll disappoint on that level.

Coupled with the fact that Megas never got a DVD release. God, I miss that show so much.
OP: Michael Bay is the American Uwe Boll. He makes worse and worse movies and, in turn, makes more and more money. It is rather disturbing.

Saying these movies are bad because they're all actiony and over the top is like saying Casablanca is bad because it's too focused on romance. Duh, that's the point!

They never promise anything other than insane over-the-top robot deathmatches and if you expected anything more from them, frankly you're an idiot.

I loved The Rock . It was actually my favorite movie for a short amount of time. Then Michael Bay betrayed me with this series.

I dunno, everyone I know is pissed off because there isnt enough about the transformers, not megan "ooh look at me I'm soooo sexy" fox and FUCKING shia lebouf trying to get jiggy with each other, robot testicles or annoying racial stereotypes like skid and mudflaps. They annoy me because it's not about the transformers fighting decepticons really, they're more of a framing device for Shia and Megan to get it on more than anything. I would be perfectly happy if the plot was no more complicated than your average super hero movie, i just want to see Robots damn it!

The robots are badly and overdesigned, the cinematography is badly done, alongside the fact that everything is too much of a clusterfuck, it's just badly directed, sure I could live with the human characters if they were side characters, with the robots as the focus, as opposed to the way it is now, and if it was less messy, it would be easier and more exciting to watch.

In direct response to the OP, I'm not looking forward to it because Michael Bay says he wants to move the focus more to the humans, which means it wont be about robots beating the crap out of each other.

Transformers wasn't good, but it had enjoyable parts.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'd put it up there with Manos The Hands of Fate.

I don't have much faith in this one, but who knows?

Maybe some deity will be merciful this summer.

I don't mind the all the action scenes. It's how Bay directs them that bugs the hell out of me. His scenes are always so damn busy that you can never tell what the hell is going on or whose winning or even who's who.

Megan Fox is hot, and I have no problem with admitting that, even if a lot of people like Movebob don't like her. Truthfully her not being there to drape herself over a bike is not going to win the movie any points with me.

Honestly, I sort of agree with MovieBob on a lot of what Michael Bay does. See, it's not the explosions and military stuff that bothers me, it's the choppy way he does things, the lens flare and other issues. The patriotism involved in a lot of it is actually a point in his favor as I think we definatly need more American flagwaving nowadays since despite accusations about US Jingoism... there really isn't any. Pretty much all I tend to hear about the USA is criticism, especially from my fellow Americans.

There were a couple of decent robot fight scenes in the movie, but truthufully a lot of them pretty much just came down to a jumpy blur of metal and scene cuts.

Michael Bay can make an awesome action movie, but truthfully I think he's all wrong for this paticular material every time I think about it. However a full fledged triology and millions of dollars goes to show a lot more people disagree with me than agree.
