I don't get the hatred for these films. Did you people honestly go to TWO of these movies expecting deep plots and moving characters?
Saying these movies are bad because they're all actiony and over the top is like saying Casablanca is bad because it's too focused on romance. Duh, that's the point!
They never promise anything other than insane over-the-top robot deathmatches and if you expected anything more from them, frankly you're an idiot.
This looks awesome, I shall be seeing it.
I bought Transformer's 2 on DVD to watch.
I traded it away after one viewing!
God damn was it boring. How did Michal Bay do it? Explosions and robots kicking eachothers ass and yet he made it boring. I nearly dozed off in it.
The irritating relationship with Megan and Shia.
The pathetic attempts at making the audience laugh.
Yes, I really wanted to see two dogs hump. When I hear Transformer's, the first thing that comes to my mind is dogs humping, a stupid mother, an irritating brat and his waste-of-space fan-serive girlfriend.
The only character I liked that was a human was the Father. he was decent, and actually likeable to some degree. But the mother? WTF?!
I mean damn... and this felt like filler... why do I need to see the life and times of some dumb boy going to college, as bad immature humour is sure to follow, when I came to see Transforming robots smashing eachother.
You know, the first one was okay. It gave me what I wanted, but this one felt soo much more annoying, no, no. I mean, boring.
The only good part of this movie is the big battle at the end and the old-ass cranky robot who has to die so Optimus can win.
And what the hell was so great about the 'Fallen' the guy is made out to be this big threat who bosses Megatron of all peo-robots around and he goes down in the shortest climactic battle I've ever seen.
Optimus fuses with this old robot and then proceedes to rape the ass of 'The Fallen'.
And Optimus' death was pointless. What did this accomplish? A quick shock value of the death of Optimus, but he comes back at the end of the movie.
Atleast in the cartoon, Optimus stays dead for quite some time. About Season 4 when he comes back so you actually feel the impact of his death. Unlike here where it feels cheap and taudry.
And speaking of the Fallen, correct me if I'm wrong, but Megatron/Galvatron refused to serve anyone. Unicron had to electrocute him constantly, and even then he was disobedient alot of the times. But here, he's being bossed around by this old ass machine.
In closing, this movie fell flat to deliver what I expected. An action packed movie where you ignore logic thanks to all the thrilling fights.
Instead, I get a boring movie with a few good battles. But the problem is, the moment you're bored, you start to think about it. You start to think and ask 'why'.
Why is this that way?
Why is this considered humour?
Why is this movie so long?
Why do I have to watch Shia getting hit on by a robot?
Why do Transformer's fart?
Why is Jetfire the only likeable character in this movie?
Why don't I care that Optimus is dead?
