I can't take an advert titled "Dark of the Moon" seriously, I just can't do it...still, if it's like the second one I will be annoyed but if it's a little more like the first one, it might be worth a look....if just for the distraction quality.
Sounds like the next installment in the twilight franchise. The vampire divorce.
Now that you mention it, it does....I was just referencing the play of the same title that features hillbillies, hilarious accents and such brilliant lines as "Hit don't make no never mind" and "They burned my baby?!??" Good times.

Wait, what if someone picks up the vampire divorce idea....blast!

It might be fun watching it, and thumbs up for not having megan fox in this one. (She couldn't do that anyway).
Big explosions are fun, robots are fun, massive property damage that i don't have to pay for? Ideal.
Get drunk, get a bag of chips, and enjoy what Bay did this time with the plot.
Autobots peacefully copperate with the army, something big is dicovered on the moon, the blonde girl is the new love interest of shia, bumblebee is called into action with shia and blonde on the back seat who are just about to (insert big huge explosion to shortcut a decent fu).
Autobots loose the first round with big huge enormous explody enemy things.
Autobots go into hiding, the crazy museum keeper from movie 2 tells them to be strong, shia finds an ancient artifact (the allspark plug), upgrades the whole autobot fleet.
Autobots roll out, enter Explodor the Magnificent who taunts Optimus and nearly kills several innocent bystanders.
Optimus kicks major tin can ass, and the other bots do their thing between the main characters in the movies - the all consuming explosions.
I'm going to watch it.

7-1-11 was a month ago. Soooo, I guess you're kinda late on that one. And I didn't notice it going any more dark than usual.

How are they going to explain the lack of Megan Fox in the movie and the random apperance of a new girl?

ARE THEY EVEN GOING TO TRY?!?
Reminds me of the Karate Kid movies.

In the sequel, I don't even think they mention why his girlfriend from the first movie is gone, then in the third they make up a weak excuse.

I thought this would be about some lame-ass "save de earth n turn off you lights for n hour lawl" day event. But it's about another Transformers movie. I'm not sure if I am appoint or disappoint over this turn of events.

As for the film, well, another one I won't be seeing. Good for the fans, though.
Yea, how dare people want to conserve the land they live on.

I don't get the hatred for these films. Did you people honestly go to TWO of these movies expecting deep plots and moving characters?

Saying these movies are bad because they're all actiony and over the top is like saying Casablanca is bad because it's too focused on romance. Duh, that's the point!

They never promise anything other than insane over-the-top robot deathmatches and if you expected anything more from them, frankly you're an idiot.

This looks awesome, I shall be seeing it.

I bought Transformer's 2 on DVD to watch.

I traded it away after one viewing!

God damn was it boring. How did Michal Bay do it? Explosions and robots kicking eachothers ass and yet he made it boring. I nearly dozed off in it.

The irritating relationship with Megan and Shia.

The pathetic attempts at making the audience laugh.

Yes, I really wanted to see two dogs hump. When I hear Transformer's, the first thing that comes to my mind is dogs humping, a stupid mother, an irritating brat and his waste-of-space fan-serive girlfriend.

The only character I liked that was a human was the Father. he was decent, and actually likeable to some degree. But the mother? WTF?!

I mean damn... and this felt like filler... why do I need to see the life and times of some dumb boy going to college, as bad immature humour is sure to follow, when I came to see Transforming robots smashing eachother.

You know, the first one was okay. It gave me what I wanted, but this one felt soo much more annoying, no, no. I mean, boring.

The only good part of this movie is the big battle at the end and the old-ass cranky robot who has to die so Optimus can win.

And what the hell was so great about the 'Fallen' the guy is made out to be this big threat who bosses Megatron of all peo-robots around and he goes down in the shortest climactic battle I've ever seen.

Optimus fuses with this old robot and then proceedes to rape the ass of 'The Fallen'.

And Optimus' death was pointless. What did this accomplish? A quick shock value of the death of Optimus, but he comes back at the end of the movie.

Atleast in the cartoon, Optimus stays dead for quite some time. About Season 4 when he comes back so you actually feel the impact of his death. Unlike here where it feels cheap and taudry.

And speaking of the Fallen, correct me if I'm wrong, but Megatron/Galvatron refused to serve anyone. Unicron had to electrocute him constantly, and even then he was disobedient alot of the times. But here, he's being bossed around by this old ass machine.

In closing, this movie fell flat to deliver what I expected. An action packed movie where you ignore logic thanks to all the thrilling fights.

Instead, I get a boring movie with a few good battles. But the problem is, the moment you're bored, you start to think about it. You start to think and ask 'why'.

Why is this that way?
Why is this considered humour?
Why is this movie so long?
Why do I have to watch Shia getting hit on by a robot?
Why do Transformer's fart?
Why is Jetfire the only likeable character in this movie?
Why don't I care that Optimus is dead?

I'm of the same opinion. Not every movie has to be Oscar material.

Too bad this thread will turn out to be another Bay bash.
agreed. lol the guy after you did the exact thing suprisingly.

OT: i'll probably see this movie just to know i saw it, hell i might enjoy it a bit.

I hope it's mediocre like the first one. I'd be pissed if I went and saw it, and it ended up being terrible like the second one, or somehow worse than that. I could demand a refund but they wouldn't give it to me ... or I could just not see the damn thing ...

I wonder if they'll go the T2 route meaning, the clip you saw is the most action packed in the entire movie.

That's unfair...I haven't seen Transformers 2, nor do I plan to. The only thing that will catch my interest is if this one has The Dinobots. Grimlock like smash. Grimlock make big booms for Bay. Grimlock will smash good!

Unless friends are going (the reason I saw the last one) I'll probably give this a miss. Its not that I hated the Trasnformers 2 it just wasn't either very bad or very good. There wasn't really enough win or fail for me to have had much of a reaction to it.

Whenever I think of the revenge of the fallen I think of something Barney Stison once said "And you are like assistant under secretary of only ok."

I loved the first one, for the same reason you seem to. I did not expect much from it, no, I mean who would? It's a fucking Michael Bay movie. There's never anything deep about his films, why should Transformers be any different? It was a fun little flick full of action and blowing shit up and sure it's horrible other than that, but I don't care because it's just nice to zone out to something like that every once in a while. I liked the Expendables for the same reason.

I expected pretty much the same bullshit from the second movie, but I was disappointed. I HATE the second movie. I hate the blatant racism, I hate the shitty jokes (the mom being apparently high, the `enemy scrotum', etc) I hate how Shia and Megan played their characters absolutely atrociously, I hate how the story doesn't make any sense at all, and I hate how even the action scenes were so fucking long they bored me. I did not get what I expected from the second movie.

Nah, we all went in knowing they wouldn't be deep and moving. We all went there to get nostalgic about our childhood cartoons. The ones that weren't that funny, weren't that well written, but had robots in them with lasers.

Then we got to see a movie about a human with a robot supporting cast. We're not quite sure why they had all the military stuff, and why they weren't just robot laser fodder. We also don't know what a kid going to college has to do with inter galactic war. We still don't know why there's more humans with speaking roles than robots. Or why there are just these random comic scenes like dogs humping or a midget border agent.

It's not that we're mad the movies sucked. We're just annoyed they suck in the wrong way. And that there doesn't seem to be a logical connection.

I mean really... a midget border agent? That made it to final cut in a robot action movie?

Edit: OT: Looks good, but I'm willing to bet that entire trailer was made from the last 30mins of action sequence.

I agree, it's why I don't hate the Transformers, at least not the first movie. Problem being with many of Bay's action flicks is that the action is often filmed in a very messy way making it really hard to follow. Desperado and Iron Man (2) would be examples of brainless action flicks (well not that brainless) done very well.

But still; huge robots kicking each other's ass. Awesome!!! And unlike others I didn't grow up with the Transformers, so I'm not used to their old design and thus absolutely adore the new ones. Those 2 cars colliding making that new transformer? AWESOME!!! That epic shoot&slice combo? AWESOME!!!

Sadly though, what appears to be the new main female lead (that blonde one) looks even more stupid and ugly than Megan Fox. What the hell is wrong with her lips?

Oh I agree completely. But still, epic robots slugging it out in a big explosion filled...explosionfest! AWESOME!!!

I'd like to see Michael Bay do a Care Bears movie.

Just think about that for a minute.

You've started grinning, haven't you?
Oh yes...widly at that.

Okay so this is the third movie in the saga, what I don't get is why the folk who hate the new movies so much are still here complaining about them. The first two movies weren't that different to a degree that hating the first one and then watching the second one you would suddenly love them or in fact even change your opinion. So all the folk complaining about the third movie this must be your fourth time round. 1st time moaning after you saw the first movie, 2nd time moaning about how much the upcoming second movie will suck as much as the first, 3rd time moaning about how you thought the first sucked and you knew the second would suck but went to see it anyway and guess what it sucked and now here we are fourth time round saying how much the first two sucked, how much the third will suck and I am willing to bet a heavy wack of cash that come 8 / 1 / 11 or 1 / 8 / 11 you'll be back here for the fifth time saying that the third film sucked just as much as the first two did.

The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expected a different result each time, the definition of extreme stupidity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results and then informing everyone that the results where exactly the same as the last time.
