I don't get why people think action movies are dumb, sure if you base it on the story they're dumb but come on, you think their intention was a good story? Sometimes sure like Die Hard, but then you look at the Expendables...Story was not that movies focus.

To be entirely honest, I was off-board when the replaced Megan Fox's character with a frickin' lingerie model. "Acting? Why would we need someone who can act to play a lead role in a movie? Boobs!"

I cannot support that.

I'd like to see Michael Bay do a Care Bears movie.

Just think about that for a minute.

You've started grinning, haven't you?
Yeah! The thought of that is hilarious!! :-D

Oh look, "Big Robots and Explosions 3"
Excuse me? I have seen both Transformers films thus far and have yet to see a robot.

I can't wait to not see anything happening due to swirling shards of metal and camera work done by cold turkey heroin users.

What is with the obnoxious sound in that trailer? I think some sound director heard Inception's horns and figured that was the next big thing, repeating loud noises.

Also, fuck Shia LaBeouf. Talentless mug.

7-1-11 was a month ago. Soooo, I guess you're kinda late on that one. And I didn't notice it going any more dark than usual.
7-1-11 is July 1st here in the States.

I'm a little disturbed that some people are actually even defending this franchise.

Here's the thing: I love bad movies, I have a whole shit-ton of B movies in my collection, most of them being ultra low-budget schlock that are great for laughs.

Michael Bay on the other hand, uses quarter of a million dollars and puts out movies that, in comparison to those same low budget schlock movies, have less coherency, less likable characters, and less charm.

As for those who tell me "what are you expecting? it's just a popcorn movie/over the top action movie." I expect at it to have least a coherent plot, some form of consistency, and a noticable lack of groan-worthy juvenile humor being shoved down my throat. These are elements that most other popcorn/action movies can handle, yet the Transformers series has not managed to grasp these int he slightest. Just because it's a popcorn movie doesn't mean it has an excuse to be crappy.

That would be like a high-level acid trip.

Are the twins in it? -_-; Are Skid and Mudflap in it? If they are, I won't see the movie on principle, even if that scene with Optimus mowing through an army of Decepticons does actually look FREAKING AWESOME.

Really, I actually really enjoyed the first movie. The second one... Eh, it was disappointing outside of a few scenes (I don't care what people say, the fight preceeding Optimus' death scene was actually five kinds of cool) but ultimately a letdown.

But... If this focuses on the Robots instead of the people... Maybe. I definately won't see it on opening day though. I'll wait for general synopsies to come in first.

I love brainless action movies, and Transformers is a great series for this kinda stuff. I'm excited.
I'm of the same opinion. Not every movie has to be Oscar material.

Too bad this thread will turn out to be another Bay bash.

Michael Bay is easily the worst director working in Hollywood today. Anyone who actually enjoys his movies obviously doesn't know what a good action movie entails: Interesting characters in exciting situations. Not Shia LeBitch screaming at a green screen for 2 and a half hours. And don't give that, "Oh dude it's just a popcorn movie it doesn't have to be good." Movies like this are not popcorn movies, they're just horrible movies.
Ah, sweet hilarity.

OT: Well, I've got younger cousins and I like to watch things blow up every now and again. I'm in.
